I went with James at Solt Landscaping after receiving about 6 other quotes on a major retaining wall project. They offered the best price by far, and the work was still extremely good quality work. I have referred Solt Landscaping to several friends and they have all been happy with the price and work as well.

Did not begin on time due to a sick employee, came on Friday. First, James measured the yard twice before ordering the sod. Installation was done while I was at work. Upon coming home, James approached me to share he had knocked down my mailbox, but no worries, he had replaced. Yes, nice box, but not what I would have bought. My heart sank as I viewed what looked to be a lumpy quilt. In addition, my peonies were whacked in half, a start from an heirloom plant from my grandmother. Then, I was told, "you'll have to use some pine needles to cover these areas...we did not have enough sod." I asked, but you measured twice." At that time, I went ahead and paid, was most overwhelmed. After reviewing again after they left, disappointment changed to anger. I am a single teacher and had to get a loan for this job. I put a stop payment on the check. I emailed and sent texts to him describing my disappointment and my bank action. Did not hear from him but he came knocking on my door late in the evening on Saturday. It was then he mentioned for the first time a plan to roll the yard! Something he should have initially done. The job got away from him, time wise or lacking help, in my opinion or he left the job to the young helper. He did roll twice, but during the time we had major rain so I do understand the weather challenge. At this point, some 5 weeks after installation, I have a lumpy yard, it needs top dressing according to Carolina Fresh Farms, and I mentioned to him. Now, he stated he wanted to discuss the yard Wednesday 6/13, no mention of a time. I was gone when he came by. I find his communiation style rather frustrating. If you want a Zoysia yard, this is not the company for the job.

James and his assistants were friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. They were trustworthy, which was important for us when hiring someone. The backyard looked great when they were finished. When there was slight miscommunication, they cleared up the issue as best as they could. We look forward to working with them again.

This was a disaster! Wrong size river rock, way to much rock which he wouldn't return, Laid down the Bermuda sod incorrectly according to everything that I read on you tube. Refused to correct the problem . I wired my irrigation system myself because it was obvious that he didn't know how. Broke sprinkler heads, leaks in irrigation line. Bad!!

Professional, very knowledgeable. Nice guys, too. Communicate well. Job is in progress, and would have them handle additional orijects if we decide to do.

He is honest enough that I would trust him with my family around.
