Went well. Called on Sunday to make the appointment and Mike Griffin answered. After checking his schedule called me back and scheduled the appointment for the following Friday. Told me they'd be here between 9 and 9:30. Called before they came to let me know they were coming and got here when they said they would. Was very responsive and helpful. Stayed until the job was completed. Have already called to schedule another appointment to add more landscape lighting. Included the 10% discount by mentioning I found them on Angie's list.

The service was a slow process. Buzz was a good person to work with, but if he only put in an average of 4 hours of work on any given day. I wish that he was more motivated to finish the job quicker. After all, time is money. After the job was done, I have been going behind and finishing what was missed. Repairing sheetrock damage and installing nail plates that were missing in two room. The county inspector should have caught that. I guess that what I get when you have to depend on a county employee to do his job properly on a Friday afternoon. Oh well.

Response from Griffin Electric
This is a strange review? Because we made it clear that we were covered up with work with others, and the owner was OK with it. So on some days were short so as to finish other jobs. also the owner had his own schedule at work we tried to accomodate. And he knew it. Also this was a owner contracting his own house and doing his own construction of adding walls and finish work etc. Obviously his complaint of us not using stud nail plates is not an electrical requirement or our responsibility, but is to be done by his framer, which was him to do as the one responsible for his part of the construction job. It's to bad he doesn't know that. A building contractor would know this. As far as the sheet rock damage complaint? Once again he was notified that this would have to be done for accessing areas to perform our part of the electrical job. He informed us that he understood this. And that he would do the finish work that is not our responsibility. Again since he was doing all the finish construction himself without full knowledge of how to do his part as as a 'Building Contractor' would know. And it is not part of an Electrical Contractors job and is done after the fact. The only thing that was a problem that happened on his job was that we tore 4 inch gash in his kitchen linoleum floor, which we paid for it with no hesitation, to be done over since we were resposible for it. We thought that everything was ok, because there was no complaint. We bent over backwards to accommodate. And now we get a review 9 months later, now that's strange. Sorry he became dissatisfied over that time period. That is not our goal. But I guess that's what can happen when, a do it your self contractor job is done without knowledge of what different trades do and are responsible for. Sorry.

Excellent. The most friendly, professional contractor I've ever used. They were in and out quickly solving our electrical problems and getting done within the hour they arrived. They gave me an Angie's List discount and gave me pointers on future potential projects I mentioned to them. It feels great to know I have a good electrician I can call in the future for anything electrical I need. Much thanks to A.L.

I am well pleased with Mike and his staff. They are very professional workers and all work is done in a timely manner. When I contacted Mike he was very prompt and polite. He told me what I needed to buy and what to expect when he came over. He was on time and did not waste any time. His workers went right to work. I had three outdoor electrical outlets located by the pool that kept throwing circuit breakers. They traced down the problem and repaired it. Had to have new outlets and covers. They replaced some switches and checked everything out to make sure it was all back in proper working order. While they were on premises I had them installed a ventilation van in the master bathroom along with a ceiling fan in the master bedroom and one in the living room. They had to remove the old fans. They were very considerate and polite the entire time. They installed a light under the crawl space of my house and fixed another one inside the utility room. They also installed two motion sensor lights one on the back of my house and the other one on the front. All work was completed in about 4 hours. I am very pleased with Griffin Electric and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done.

The guys that did the installation were great. The were efficient with their time and professional in attitude, appearance, and knowledge. They "double checked" their work before leaving and the price was just right (I have overseen a few home remodels and the price was exactly what I would expect it to be from a reasonable electrician). The allowed enough time on the service call to install extra items that were not part of the initial order. pri
Description of Work: Hooked up new stovetop and exhaust-overhead fan, installed new light in kitchen, shortened ceiling fan drop-down cable in kitchen, repaired/rewired two pendant light fixtures and one ceiling fan/light fixture in another room, replaced (labor only) over a dozen receptacles and light switches. Evaluated and priced other work, at our request, that we need to accomplish in the future.

Very pleased with the work. Mike and his son showed up on time and completed the job quickly but with attention to detail. A small problem arose when the TV installation began due to unforeseen issues with the construction of my house but they presented me with a solution that worked out great! It's also nice having someone who cleans up after they're done...... Will be using them again for my next big electrical project.

Mike and his son were super to work with. I needed someone to turn around repairs quickly to get the house closed by the end of the year (and over the holidays, no less). Mike indicated that he would try to work me in somewhere, and he had his guys out there very quickly. I met his son at the house, and he went over everything and made sure I was satisfied. We had a tough decision to make about an older panel box that basically needed to be replaced, and he went over every option he could devise to fix the problem before we settled in on replacement. He even went out of his way to help me out with something that wasn't even on his list, and saved me some money/time in the process. The day before the closing, the new homeowners-to-be raised some concerns about some electrical issues, and Mike had his guys go out and meet with the then new owners and address their concerns at no additional cost. They were there when they said they would be, they were very responsive to my rather urgent needs, and they made sure that I was satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Found Griffin Electric on Angie's list and relied on positive feedback. I called at spoke with Mike Griffin on Tuesday. He set up service call for the very next day. He was knowledgable and arrived exactly as planned. The electrical problem was repaired and I will be another Angie List user who gives this provider an A+++ rating.

This was truly a positive experience for us and continues on a daily basis. I don't know about you but for me it seems I require more and more lighting as I get older. We have a very large garage that only had two small fixtures at the front (door) end of the garage. This left the other half in dim or poor lighting. For me it was a safety issue as well as frustrating because I would have to connect floor or hanging light to work in the area. I also light to detail our cars but again would need to rig up lighting if I wanted to work in the garage. Buzz and Chris came out as scheduled. They called a couple of times before arriving to update me on their timeline. I purchased four two tube, T-8 fixtures to replace the two small fixtures we had. This was no problem for Buzz and Chris. They assessed the situation, gave me my options, and went to work. There were a couple of challenges but that didn't stop them. They installed the four ceiling fixtures taking extra care to be sure they were aligned and looked professional. The lights are Perfect!! The entire garage is now well lit without the need for additional lighting. I'm still thrilled when I turn the lights on and wonder why I waited so long to get it done. We have attic storage above the garage for Holiday items. Each year I climb the pull down ladder and work with only a camp lantern. Buzz and Chris ran wire and installed a plug for me in the attic while they were doing the other job. I hung a shop light at the top of the stairs and now the whole place is well iit. Another safety issue solved. Last but not least, we have a downstairs powder room that is 10' long. Again, the lighting was toward the front over the sink area. I purchased a combination exhaust fan with a light. Buzz replaced the old fan only unit with the new combo unit and now the room no longer has that "cave" look to it. The new fan is also 3x quieter than the old. All in all, Griffin Electric (Buzz & Chris) improved our safety and added to the appearance of our home. We will be glad to use them in the future.

I purchased the deal for the whole house electrical inspection for my own peace of mind due to some quirky things I'd experienced and the fact that my home is 30+ years old - the providers did a thorough inspection and addressed all of my concerns. Griffin Electric contacted me through Angie's List and phone to confirm the date/time of the inspection; two employees arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. I also received a follow-up phone call from the owner of the company and expect to receive a copy of the written inspection and photos in the mail very soon. My impression during the inspection is that the service providers wanted to insure my satisfaction - they didn't find much wrong, and what they did find was relatively minor (missing outlet covers that I had removed when I painted and a recommendation to install GFCI outlets in the kitchen.) I received answers to my questions and assurance that the electrical systems in my home are safe. We also discussed updating light fixtures in my home - I will definitely contact Griffin Electric when I am ready to have this work done. I appreciated the opportunity to talk about these updates and hear their ideas/suggestions as well as get an idea of the cost/time involved in the different options. One of the biggest positives about this provider is that they clearly communicated the results of their inspection AND were willing to offer opinions/suggestions when I asked for them without any pressure to buy additional services.

Our a/c was out due to a bad thermostat. I called this morning and they worked me in right after lunch. Mike, the owner, answered my email inquiry very quickly, within 10-15 minutes, and we made all the arrangements that way. They were able to come out on the date/time that I requested. On the day of, they were running late, but gave plenty of warning and updated me so I knew they were going to show up. Buzz Griffin (son of owner Mike) is the one who came to do the work. Very personable, very knowledgeable. I have two front porch lights, and wanted to replace one with a wet-rated outdoor ceiling fan with a light kit. He listened when I asked about finding a way to deal with the one switch that operated both porch lights. (I didn't want to have the separate porch light be on every time I turned the fan on.) Buzz offered 3 solutions to deal with the one switch, and ended up adding a second light wire to the fan so I could control both lights and the fan with the fan remote, which was AWESOME! There was no attic access, but that didn't faze him. Buzz did a great job, plan to have him back to install some outdoor security lights. Would definitely recommend and hire him again. They had 90 "A" ratings and I see why!

They are awesome to work with - very professional. They worked with me to tell me what I needed, they were there when they said they would be and were even nice enough to help work me in on my second project so I could get hot water sooner rather than later. Mr. Griffin himself was on site both times and is a joy to talk to. I will definitely use them again - in fact I've already got more projects I'm planning on calling them for as I'm remodeling my home.
Description of Work: This was actually two different projects. I had them install a new electrical panel outside to remove the Zinsco panel that I did have. I also had them run new 220 lines for my dryer and hot water heater along with a new 110 for the washer.

The lead electrician did the troubleshooting on one day and then did the full repairs the next week. The troubleshooting was done in a very systematic and logical way to try to determine why (Electrical Problem 1) my computers' battery backups in my office were going off frequently and (Electrical Problem 2) the breaker in the master bath tripped easily with the use of a hair dryer. (Electrical Solution 1) The electrician determined that my office's circuit breaker, which had two computers and three printers on it, was branched to too many other circuits and that it would be best to isolate the computers/printers/office onto its own breaker and evenly distribute the circuits which were taken off of that breaker onto other breakers. Part of this solution was to add more breakers in the electrical sub-panel to aid in the even distribution of circuits. (Electrical Solution 2) The electrician determined that my master bath lighting combined with a hair dryer were just too much load for the breaker. They even demonstrated by showing me how much the master bath lighting dimmed when switching on our dryer. They set up a separate circuit for where we plug in the hair dryer. (Electrical Solution 3) The electrician also determined that the incoming power supply wiring to my electrical box was inadequate for the amperage all its circuits could be pulling at any given time and that it would be a good idea to upgrade the wiring to the maximum capacity the box was rated for. On the day the work was done, the rerouting of all the circuits and the upgrading of the wiring proceeded in a timely fashion. The work was completed in less time than they had allotted for it, which is simply very good management on the part of Griffin Electrical. The electricians were all very professional, explained every step of the process of estimating and upgrading my electrical system and were also fun to talk with! They were always very considerate about warning us when and which circuits in our home were going to be offline for the upgrade. Since the work was completed on April 16th, 2014, there have been no known incidents of power dropouts on the computers in my office and no circuit breakers tripping in our master bath. Hiring Griffin was a good experience and I would gladly hire them again. ~Paul

It was supposed to be $3000 so I gave him $1500 in advance, but he never came back to finish the job. It took longer than what I thought. When I looked at their job, I called them and said are you going to come back and finish the job? And they said they were not going to come back and finish it. He hung up on me. He owes me $1500 dollars cause I finished all his work and left wires everywhere. When he came to my house he acted like he really knew what he was doing and was knowledgeable. When they first started it they were punching holes and running wire and acted like they were really doing work. The job should only have taken 3 days, but it took 5 days. At the end of the 5 days I had to leave and when I did, they left. By the time I got back, I looked around and it was a mess. I would not recommend them to anybody. They are not professional. They took my money and didn't do the job as a professional. When I came back, they were sitting around waiting for me, instead of working. They did not use hardly any of the stuff that they asked for; it's still in the packages that I got. They were never on time. I'll never call again, never recommend them and if I see them again it will probably be in court.

The man was dishonest and never showed up for the completion of job. We did more than half the job above what was agreed upon. I spoke to Mike Griffin the owner over the phone. I explained I need to install 4 new ceiling fans and relocate 1 additional fan to another room. He told me he and his son would be out within a couple of days. Mike showed up with his son, Buzz, and another helper. Mike left Buzz in charge and left him and his helper to do the job. Both these guys were able to knock off the installation of the fans and kitchen light within a couple of hours. They did exactly what I asked and did a great job. They were very professional, cleaned up behind them and my wife and I are very happy with the results. The price was very fair for the time they spent and the results we received. Thank you, Mike and Buzz and Angie's List.

Having no electricity in living room ceiling before installing fan with light kit and remote control, electrician had to cut two small holes in ceiling and set up electricity to run fan.
