I was terrified!
Description of Work: He nearly ran me over with his van in Asheville. I was in slow traffic and he almost rear ended me. I gestured for him to back off and he got closer and closer; he was deliberately threatening. He screeched into the next lane and sped around me almost hitting another car. I called the number on the van to complain to its headquarters and the driver answered the phone. He yelled at me and hung up. With a temper and unprofessionalism like that I would NEVER let him in my home.

I called and asked if the problem I was having was able to be serviced by them and the person on the other end of the phone was very curt and told me that there were no service people there presently, but she could take my name and number and ask them to call me but couldn't guarantee that they would!!! Very disappointed with the service over the phone.

They came when they said they would, they called before they came, they knew what they were doing and they fixed the problem. They are very concerned about coming into the house with clean shoes, carry slip-ons. They do service the Asheville area.

When I called ASI the explained that a $85 service call was necessary to come out and examine and determine parts needed. They came out when schedule and checked the ice-maker. They told me that they would order the part and I would receive the $85 as a credit to install the new part and lower the ice level slightly to prevent sticking. Since it was near the weekend, they said they would advise me when the parts came in. They called me early the next week and set up an appointment for a return visit. They came ,as scheduled, to complete repairs. The cost of the two visits, parts and labor was approximately $150. Very reasonable. I found ASI Customer Service and service techs to be very courteous, reliable and professional. I would highly recommend their service.
Description of Work: Had part broken on ice-maker in Kitchenaid refrigerator. Also ice cubes were too wet and freezing on extraction mechanism.

Seems a shame to ruin a straight A report card with an F, especially when everyone else seemed to be working so hard for those A's - but he IS the Owner..A
Description of Work: This is the second time I've used ASI; but this time they didn't repair a thing - and saved me from wasting hundreds of dollars! I first called them four years ago, about a malfunctioning washing machine. My research revealed they had been in business for around 276 years (or something like that) and were A+ rated by the BBB. When I called to check them out, I discovered many of their employees have been there for almost as long as the company has been around so, as you might imagine, most of them are quite old. Seriously, everybody I've ever spoken to there has been respectfully professional and done their job well. Their technicians diligently go about their work, while trying to remain as unobtrusive as possible. The first time out they fixed and did some routine maintenance on my old washing machine for a very reasonable price, including parts. This time I had called them to fix the dryer and check-out two refrigerators. The next day Mike, one of their Senior Techs, called to let me know he was running ahead of schedule. He tactfully asked if I would prefer to wait until later, as planned. I told him to come over ASAP and he and his helper arrived within 30 minutes. It took some time to tear-apart and diagnose the dryer. The prognosis was that it would cost more to fix than what it was worth. The same was true of the first refrigerator they checked. The second refrigerator had been making some strange and rather loud sounds, from time-to-time (I think its' possessed), but otherwise seemed to be behaving fine. However, since it was silent while they were here, Mike suggested that we wait to see if a problem developed - and his assistant referred me to a good exorcist, just in case. So, they were able to come early, called first, prevented me from throwing hundreds of dollars (perhaps over a thousand) down a black hole and did a great job of cleaning up their mess. And I was totally blown away when Stanley Steamer showed up shortly after they left. Seems ASI had sent them to do the carpets, 'just in case.' Makes you wish you had appliances to repair every week! I hope you will all forgive the somewhat facetious nature of this review. You see, I was born and raised on a farm in Iowa before moving to South Carolina in 1978. As a result, I seem genetically predisposed to have a very corny sense of humor. That said, my attempts to make you smile (or better yet, laugh) should not in any way detract from ASI's quality, honesty and overall value. In fact, there has been only one sour note in my entire experience with them. Their President/Owner never returned my call. And nobody else called in his stead, or to ask if they could help or to explain why he wouldn't be calling. That's not good. When the head of a local, family-owned business will not return a repeat customer's phone call (it's been over two weeks), he earns his business an F rating for responsiveness.

Even though they weren't able to fix my problem, they gave me info to call LG and try to get my problem resolved with them, since it involved a recent service bulletin LG had issued. I was dissapointed that problem is still unresolved, but was very appreciative for them giving me the proper info. They were professional, and I would be happy to call them again for future repairs.
Description of Work: We had problem with my LG dishwasher. He came on time, and called before coming, as asked. We were given a time range of 12-5, and I was pleased that he came around 1-1:30, so it wasn't like I waited all day. He did diagnostic on problem, but wasn't able to come up with anything that may be wrong. He called LG and found that there was a recent service bulletin related to my problem. But, LG wasn't able to tell him if it would be something that would be covered since my dishwasher is 4 years old. So, he only charged me a diagnostic charge, and gave me info to call LG to take up the issue with them. I wish they had gone to bat for me on this, but at least he gave me the info to call them regarding the matter. He was very polite, clean, wore booties, and presented himself as a professional. I would call them again in the future for repairs.

The service guy came to look at our SAmsung fridge b/c the temperature was not what the gauge said it was - it was not staying cold. we had a few other issues as well that we had overlooked for some time. The service guy told us the parts would be in Friday, no later than Monday. Today is Wednesday and the part that is necessary to keep the door closed is not in yet. May be in by Friday, but they aren't sure. they took our check for the total of all the parts, labor TO BE DONE. The cashed the check, but a week later we have no parts, and our fridge door is propped closed by a kitchen chair and we had to throw out all our food. my biggest complaint is the office manager, Cynthia. She was rude immediately upon speaking to me - interrupted me, and ended up hanging up on me. She said they cut checks on Wednesdays, so we could get our $ back next wednesday minus the $80 diagnostic service fee. I am furious - that is not the way to do business in a service industry. She said she had no one that she answered to that i could speak to - so i looked it up on the internet and sure enough, the presidents last name is the same as hers, so i guess either husband or father or brother. Oh well - lesson certainly learned.

I found them off of Angie's List. It was a service call. It was very good. They are certified dealers. They train their technicians so that they are able to honor a warranty on a dishwasher. They came out to see what was needed. They then ordered the parts and came back. They charged for labor to install the parts. I didn't have to pay for the parts as it was under warranty. They were very professional. They were efficient and provided courteous service.

We asked ASI Services to look at our refrigerator (purchased in 2003) for a noise in the ice machine. The repairman came with highly satisfactory speed and looked at our situation.However, he told us that it would cost $250 to replace a valve, and that this was the price given by his company. I certainly have no expertise here (which is why we called them), but at this price, we're talking about getting a new refrigerator. He gave no other justification than this was the price he was given. I don't think we'll ever call them again. If the price was reasonable, they should offer some justification.

We paid about $100 on that work. The issue was raised by the appliance manufacturer and they recommend them as the service supplier.

Description of Work: My dishwasher stopped working and displayed an error message that required a service call. I called the retailer where we had purchased the appliance and they recommended ASI. I called on Monday and got an appointment in Wednesday afternoon (between 3 and 5 PM). At 4:50pm, I had not received a call and I called ASI. They radioed the service man and he was running an hour late. He did call and tell me he was on his way and arrived at 6pm. He was very courteous and repaired the machine (a piece of glass had been stuck in the motor). I had to pay the dispatch fee, but no other costs were incurred.

The repair guy was super nice and professional. I office staff was not the best. They were slow and disorganized. They were slow to even get me an appointment for repair. He finally came here and needed to order the part. He came back with the box that was labeled as correct but the part inside was not the correct part. I thought they would be willing to order the part shipped overnight since it was getting to be a long time. But the office was not capable of doing that or something. The repair guy came back and got the job done when he got the right part. His service was excellent and he was on time for his appointments. The oven is working again now. At this point I am not sure if I would call them again.
