Install cabinetry, light plumbing and electrical. For example: replace facets or install light fixtures. Deck repair or new installation.

Exterior painting, roofing, under floor plumbing, concrete, masonry, no tile, foundation work, and no carpet installation.
Ricky has done several jobs for us including painting, tile work and sheetrock repair. He does great work and his fees are reasonable. He is our go-to person any time we need work done.

Mr. Rickey is so Awesome and very talented with everything he does. My wife of 33 years and I were so impressed with the work that he did for us in kitchen, we asked him if he wouldn’t mind doing some extra work inside and outside of our home. Everything that he did turned out Great!! Mr. Rickey is a very trustworthy person and now a Real good friend of ours. I would 100% recommend him to anyone and everyone that needs remodeling done.

The painting aspect was fine, but the removal of the popcorn texture was a disaster. They used a sander instead of scraping it off - creating huge volumes of sheet rock dust that they did NOTHING to minimize. The dust was EVERYWHERE and in everything... including my HVAC which they kept running the whole time. The dust choked my condenser coils and ruined the unit. I had to buy a new one less than month after they left. And despite written service reports from 3 different AC companies indicating that the dust had been the contributing factor, L&R has denied any responsibility and refused to even discuss the matter personally - ducking certified letters and repeated phone calls.
Description of Work: I hired L&R to remove the popcorn texture from my ceiling and paint the ceiling and walls.

My husband and I hired L&R Home Improvement to paint 4 rooms in our house in late April. We chose colors and they gave us an estimate. We ended up changing our colors to lighter colors, resulting in less paint being needed but the estimate did not change. They told us it would take 4 days to paint. On the first day I came home from work early, they were on the back porch smoking. Which is fine, everyone needs to take breaks. But when I went out there to say I was home and compliment them on what had been done so far, I was asked in between cigarette drags to sweep up their mess in the kitchen. They also let us know that they started later than expected because they stayed out too late the night before. Their professionalism (really their lack thereof) was astounding. On the second day they told us they were rushing to get everything done that day because they had just booked a big job for the next two days. The last two rooms that were painted were done with dirty paint rollers. There is a noticeable difference in the paint that was brushed on around trim/door frames/outlets/vents, etc. There were also a few spots on the walls where you could see dirty water from the roller had dripped down and dried an ugly brown color. We were told to wait 7 days until the paint had completely dried and let them know if anything needed to be fixed. After the seven days passed we reached out to them via text and let them know that the cut ins were lighter than the rest of the walls in our bedroom and bathroom and needed to be fixed. We were told they were busy with lots of jobs right now and they would reach out to us when we could be put on the schedule. It wasn’t a huge deal as it wasn’t a central living space in the house or anything so we were fine with waiting. Over 3 months passed and we still had not heard anything from L&R. I reached out to them and they scheduled with us for this morning, and also told us to buy the paint. I said no, because a) they never adjusted the estimate with the lower cost of materials and b) the error in the painting was not caused by us and we should not have to pay extra for it. They relented and said they would be here Monday morning. My husband and I moved furniture, put our dog up, and left a house key in a lockbox for them so this could be finally be taken care of. I received a text around 2pm that they were unable to make it because wi-fi was being set up at their house and the technician had just left. I’m not sure why it took until 2 to realize that they would be late, let alone not be able to come at all. In lieu of rescheduling (as I no longer trust them to keep a schedule or do quality work) I’ve requested they bring us the paint to fix it ourselves along with a partial refund for the incredible inconvenience they caused, the wait they put us through, and the crappy paint job in two rooms. They left paint cans in our driveway and that was all. Throughout all communication with them they and never once apologized for their many mistakes or even acknowledged that they had done anything wrong. I strongly advise you find another company to do business with, our experience with L&R Home Improvement was nothing incredibly unsatisfactory with unprofessional painting and customer service at every point in the unnecessarily drawn out process.
