Description of Work: I first used The Window Gang when we purchased our home in 2004. They did a wonderful job and we continued to call them once a year. The last three times we used them (2010, 2011, and in the beginning of 2012) we noticed that they were going downhill. When I would call for an appointment it took a month for them to fit me in. In 2010 one of my screens was broken and although this bugged me I had been so happy with them in the past that I overlooked the mistake. In 2011 the crew that came to the house made a big mess under some of the inside windows (paint chips, dirt marks - I assume from shoes) and I though about not using them anymore. When 2012 rolled around we were putting our house on the market and the windows needed to be cleaned and I thought I would give them one more try. BIG MISTAKE - when they were done (I wasn't home when they finished up the outside windows) I came home and found that my huge picture window and foyer window were streaked. The windows are LARGE and you need a special ladder to clean them so we weren't able to get rid of the streaks. In addition, two of my window panes (the type that you take off to clean the windows were broken). If that was not bad enough we had our outside house trim painted and the painters wanted us to come see the screens around the house before they started the work. I have a large house and 10 of the screens were damaged (bent frames, pins that lock the screen into the window either bent or missing). I WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company again.

 + 1 moreThe work crew that arrived on the service day displayed an entirely different attitude. This gentleman was upset that I wanted the house "hand scrubbed," and wanted to use the pressure washer instead. I explained that a pressure washer can distribute water under the vinyl siding, and that the owner of the service had agreed to my request for scrubbing. This gentleman was obviously trying to "get out" of this job. He proceeded to find several reasons why he could not scub the house. e.g. he did not have a ladder big enough. I expressed my displeasure since I waited 3 weeks for this service. If I had known of their inability to do the job the way I wanted it done, I would have booked a different service. That did not seem to phase this gentleman, so I dismissed him which he seemed happy about. I called the owner of thr service to report what had transpired, and he was apologetic, but he offered no solutions. I guess the name of this company "Window Gang" describes the nature of the service. It seems to be a "gang" of contractors with pressure washers. Their is no coordination between the "owner" and his contractors other than a cookie cutter approach to the job.
Description of Work: The owner of the Window Gang was pleasant and provided me with an estimate for brush or hand scrubbing my home. I accepted the price, and he booked the service three weeks later, that was his earliest convenience.
