They came out, helped to identify where our water leakage was coming from, then they measured and ordered new windows for each opening, after what seemed like a long wait, they called to say our windows were in and they came out and removed the old windows and put in the new windows in a matter of a few hours. We had a total of 8 windows in four openings replaced. Since is was a newer home with vinyl siding they had to use new construction windows instead of replacement windows and they did a good job removing and replacing the siding around the windows. So far the new windows have worked well and haven't leaked where there are mulled (seamed together in the center to create one large window that is actually two smaller independently opening windows) and that's what we wanted. The were not as inexpensive as Window World but we felt they had a better product to offer, and the were much less than Champion Windows.

It was expensive but we got the best that they make. If necessary, I would use them again in the future.

I called Taylors to set up an appointment. The woman who answered was very friendly and scheduled an appointment for later that week. The salesman that came to the house was very helpful, answered all of my questions and ended up quoting a very reasonable price. He followed up with me the next day to let me know his supervisor approved a lower price than he originally quoted. When I made the decision to sign a contract with Taylors, the salesman came back out to my house to go over the contract with me. He was very patient with me when I changed my mind several times about details that I wanted. Not long after the contract was signed, I received a phone call from Taylors to let me know that my windows had gone into manufacturing and that I will hear from someone else as soon as they are completed to schedule installation. They worked around my schedule to find a day to install the windows. The installers showed up on time and worked very quickly. They hauled away the old windows, so I didn't have to worry about cleanup. The entire team was friendly and professional and the job was done in one day. The windows look amazing and have improved the look of my house more than I expected! The windows have reduced the outside noise and the house has stayed cool even though the temperatures outside have gotten very hot. I would recommend Taylors to others.

My initial contact via e-mail was followed by a phone call to set up an appointment within 3 minutes (literally!). I found this very impressive. I was comfortable with the sales person who initially showed me Taylor's on product line. When I followed up with him and said that I was more interested in having a window with wood on the inside he said they did offer Jen Wen and could install that for us. However, he did quote me an incorrect price so he called me and had to send out a new contract. Ironically, it was the cost of the interior window painting that was not quoted and I said I understood and mistakes happen ect, even though I had already signed the contract. I was pleased with the installation and timeliness of the delivery. I was very displeased with subsequent communication which I attribute to Taylor's not having established a relationship with Jeld Wen yet and not properly educating their sales staff and other personnel on the delivery of a product they don't produce. After the windows were installed the installer and myself both noticed the paint job on the windows was subpar and looked like primer. Had the windows been inspected prior to leaving the shop this would have never been such a big issue. For several weeks, I kept calling and pleaded with my sales rep to have someone call me back. I spoke with the owner a second time and he said from now on for me to only call him. He said he had not forgotten me and was waiting for the Jeld Wen rep to come to town etc. and he said he would make good on the problem one way or another. I had no way of knowing this though and I had already paid for the job in full so I was unsure of what to expect. However two weeks at a time would go by and I had no phone call or e-mail updating me from anyone, which I repeatedly stated was important to me. I made six phone calls to get a correct invoice for tax purposes. My sales rep said in the beginning that I would automatically receive a packet guiding me through the tax rebate process but apparently that is not the case for the Jeld Wen product. In fact I had to go scout out my own information from the manufacturer's website since no one from Taylor's would call me back and tell me who I could contact or where I could get the appropriate forms. The owner of Taylor's and the Jeld Wen rep ultimately arrived but entered my home without me being there (apparently my housekeeper let him in but the story on both sides is a bit different but there was a language barrier). He arrived at my home at the wrong scheduled time, and without a phone call to my cell about what was happening. I would have never authorized for them to enter my home, without me being there. In fact I had called the office to let the administrative assistant know that I was on my way and may be five minutes late. When I had waited a half an hour and no one had arrived I called the office again and she told me he had already been to my home. Well why didn't she tell me this the first time I called?!!! I asked for the owner to call me immediately which he didn't. I did receive an apologetic e-mail later that day or the next day. He said he thought we were meeting at a different time but when I asked why he didn't call my cell, he didn't have an answer. I gave up my discontent with the interior paint in complete disgust. Jeld Wen apparently was going to do nothing anyway. There was a minor repair on the exterior which was corrected to my satisfaction. This company has a great reputation throughout the community and that is why I used them. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it is simply because my job was so out of the box for them that it did not go smoothly in the end. At the same time I was so distraught about the lack of communication and ultimately having them enter my home without my knowledge, that I will not choose to use them again.

This took extra time because we had to have a special size custom-ordered. The crew was on-time, and very detail-oriented. Great door and everyone at the store was nice.

Excellent work. The only complaint I have is that when I told the secretary or receptionist that I would not be home but leave the back door unlocked so the workers could get in, they failed to relay that message to the workers. They were about ready to leave when I noticed I had a voicemail message on my cell phone and called them back.

The salesman who did our appraisal was on time and very nice/professional, though a bit overbearing. Plan to spend longer than you would expect for the product demonstration. Also plan on at least a month from the time you order till the actual installation, as the product is made to order (locally, by the way, so the money stays in the community). The installers arrived more or less on time and when they finished, the installation looked great and very professional. The windows are of the highest quality and have stood up beautifully through the below-freezing temperatures we've had lately. The only negatives: the product is a bit pricier than some other companies due to the extremely high quality (in other words, if you're thinking of selling up in a year or two the higher price probably isn't worth it); also the installers weren't particularly professional in their demeenor and were unsupervised during the installation. This wouldn't have been an issue at the time, as they did a great job and were obviously highly experienced. However, a few weeks later some items went missing from the property and their odd/unprofessional demeenor immediately jumped to mind. We will absolutely use this company again as the product is of the highest quality and made locally, but we'll be sure to request different installers or a supervisor's presence just to be sure. Excellent product which is WELL worth the price, and the fact this company is keeping our neighbors employed in hard times is "icing on the cake".

UPDATE May 13, 2014 Now, we have found that they put all of the screens in sideways because the sales rep miscalculated the size of the windows. Rather than bring this to our attention at the time of installation, they installed and ran. Have left messages with the firm but no response.

The only issue I have is that I believe the storm doors were not installed properly. There are noticible gaps between the door and the frame, and I dont think there was any effort to properly "square" the door. They actually had to come back out and fix the hinge on one storm door because it kept breaking (because I believe it wasn't hung right). I am actually considering going elese where and having the doors replaced and installed properly. I would recommended them for windows and the sliding glass door, I just wouldn't recommend them for storm doors.

I was pleased with the price they charged me. They are easy to work with.

My house is a 15 yo 1 1/2 story brick and stucco which has 27 windows. I started replacing them in 2008 but back then there were very few reviews on Angies' list since it was relatively new to the area. I had 9 windows done in 2008. Window World did 6 and Southern Vinyl did 3. You can see my reviews of these companies on this site. Needless to say I wasn't happy with them and after talking with a new friend, seeing her Taylors windows and listening to the sales presentation I went with Taylors. They were very easy to work with. It seems they still believe that the customer is always right. Gary Thomason was the crew chief and he is very experienced. I was concerned about the half rounds since the interior trim must be carefully removed or it will break into pieces and need to be replaced and painted. When I questioned the man working on that window he told me that Gary had taught him how to push the inside trim out into the house and it came out intact. We also had a discussion about the outside trim and he listened and was able to find the vinyl flex trim that was needed because the molded vinyl arch was not wide enough by itself. (You can have the old wood trim wrapped if you prefer ). It only took about 2 days to do the project. I loved the way they wrap the exterior of the windows. They cover the iron lintels and they extend the sides up onto the facing brick to cover the old caulk. The caulk is top quality and is easily cleaned. When I washed the windows I noticed that all of the half screens were so tight that I couldn't remove them. Even Gary had to twist and pull on them. They replaced all 18 screens without an argument and replaced an exterior piece of wrap that had too big a gap with the next contiguous piece. In short they fixed anything I wasn't satisfied with. I can certainly recommend Taylors to anyone needing replacement windows. I'm sorry I don't have a digital camera to show comparison picrures of the different companies windows.

Salesman was very informative, the price quoted was the same I paid six months later when I could finally do it. The windows are perfect and were installed quickly. It has been six months and they are wonderful, we replaced single pane windows and two if them we changed to casement windows. We will be doing the rest soon. Having the windows purchased, installed and warrentied from the same company is worth the little bit extra you pay. No middle man to worry about. The installers were kind and considerate and cleaned up and removed the old windows.

Taylors did everything they said there were going to do at exactly the price they quoted. NO SURPRISES! I would highly recommend them to others.

We were very pleased with Taylor's. They do very nice work. We had a minor scruff on one of our windows. They came back within a day and immediately corrected the problem. They are a dependable company. They care about their customers. We wish we had found out about them earlier.

We were very pleased with the work that they did in replacing all the windows with a minimum of fuss. They were flexible, did the job quickly and cleaned up reasonably well. I have no complaints about their service.

It was my first time using this company, the process started out pretty slow but they picked up after a little while. The entire window installation job took about two days and I am happy with that. I think they used high quality product on us, despite of the fact that one of the windows cracked under stress. They replaced the window later and did not charge me extra for it.

We called these folks for an estimate on some windows. They came out quickly to do the work and stuck with the original price that they quoted us. They did a good job of cleaning up when they were done and they even hauled away the old windows for us. We are very happy with the windows and the work that they did.

We had checked on a few other companies for prices on this job and when we came across Taylor's we didn t look any farther. The price was reasonable and the type and structure of these windows were great. They had a 20 year warranty and the service at this company was really good. We haven't had any problems with the quality of work or materials. They hauled away the old windows as part of their service. It only took them two days to install all 15 windows and put insulation around them.

We were very satisfied with the job this company did for us. The windows were all sealed tight and the roof didn t leak at all. What else could we ask for? We would definitely recommend their services to others in the area because they did great work and were worth the call to us.

This job was not planned out very well. There were several mistakes made during construction that could have been avoided if they had done their homework. The drainage system was miss-measured, and the roof had to be dropped to solve this problem. Because of the reduced roof height, they could not install the ceiling fan. It also took far longer than it should have to complete the project.
