It doesn't take long for service. The prices, with the coupons are reasonable. You really have to check up on their work and make sure they've done everything that they were supposed to do.

Americans love bargains so much they are willing to pay more to get one! When my old dryer was dying, I decided it was almost time for a new one. I hated to part with the old one, knowing it would last at least a little longer. But when I found myself at Sears two weeks ago, I couldn't resist seeing if they had dryers on sale in the major appliance department. Sure enough, there was a drastic sale. I knew form Consumers Report that some of the Best Buys were Kenmore dryers sold at Sears. I had my eye on the least expensive Best Buy. The salesman, who was helpful and professional, told me the big sale ended tomorrow. Even though Consumers Report listed the base price of the Dryer I wanted at $700, and the Sears store listed the same model at $900; the $350 alleged savings still came to $150 real savings. Although I would have to pay extra for delivery and installation, I would get "free" installation plus $50 savings. All in all, buying the dryer was no ordeal, but getting the dryer into my home was. Sears does not have a home delivery service. What they do is hire much smaller companies to do this work. Herein lies the problem. For the other companies to have the steady income of Sears referrals, they have to pay Sears through the nose, and these expenses are passed on to the customer, who forgets it isn't Sears really doing the service. I made arrangements for the dryer to be delivered next Friday, but had to change it to Saturday. So I called up and left the message on an automated system. The recorded voice told me I would receive a call telling when it would be delivered on the new date. By Friday, I never got a call. I went out for a late date on Friday night. When I got home there was a phone message saying they would deliver the dryer between 1:30 and 3:30PM. (I figured from experience they would get there around 3:30PM). The message distinctly said if there was a problem with this time, to call. Early the next morning I was awoken from a sound sleep by the ringing phone. The voice told me the dryer would be delivered between 1:30 and 3:30. As you might imagine, I was not happy getting the call before 7:00 AM, but this cloud had a silver lining. Knowing I had to take my dad to the doctor at 11:00, I asked if they could postpone the delivery until at least 2:00PM. The guy on the phone said no problem. I tried getting back to sleep, but couldn't. I got home around noon and discovered a serious problem: The door from my kitchen the laundry room was narrower than the dryer! Fortunately, there was another door into the laundry room through my now closed-in garage. Problem was, there was so much junk in the garage it would take me at least an hour of heavy lifting to clear a path to the door wide enough to bring the dryer through. The next thing I knew, the doorbell rang. It was the delivery company. The time was 1:00PM. I told the guy I wasn't ready, and that he agreed not to show up until 2:00. He told me he had to deliver it now, as the truck was already there and he had no flexibility. I started getting angry, "Then why did you call me at seven in the morning to arrange the time? When I asked you to change it to two, you said, 'No problem.'" He said they had to make that call. Of course, it was no problem to him. I told him it was impossible to deliver the dryer at that time, as I had to clear a path through the garage. He told me he had to deliver the dryer during the allotted time period, or I would have to make arrangements to get the dryer another day. I told him, if I had to do it another day, I would cancel the order. Finally, he said he would do another delivery and then come back. It told him I wouldn't be ready until 2:00 as we earlier agreed. As soon as he left I get a call from Sears. "The guy said you sounded upset." I guess big companies like Sears frequently have to deal with "problem" customers like me. I explained the situation again, and said it would be impossible to get the dryer into the house until 2:00. I got off the phone and rushed to clear a path. I strained my back which still hurts. The Sears delivery lackey shows up again at 1:30. Once again, I tell him I'm not ready. He reacts as though I am just being stubborn and obstinate. I take him into the house and show him the narrow door through the kitchen. He asks, "Isn't there another door?" I show him the other door, and then show the other door is still blocked off. I tell him I have been clearing a path but still need at least fifteen minutes more work, and tell him he can wait in the truck. He finally complies. Fifteen minutes later, they installed the dryer. It took them less than twenty minutes. I was relieved when they left. The delivery nightmare was over. This is the last time I will buy a major appliance from Sears. The product may be good; the sale may sound good; I just can't afford to pay the price I have to pay to get such a bargain.
Description of Work: Delivered and installed new dryer I purchased at Sears. Hauled away old dryer.

The photographer I used there was pretty good and really helpful about getting my son to smile. I had problems with them when I went to pick up the pictures since they sent the wrong pictures from what I had originally ordered.
