Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service

Very well. Contact back was immediate. Response time 2 hours, however, it was after 9:00 pm when called. They asked us specific questions about the problem and had the necessary supplies to repair so we could turn water back on.

All work - the response to the emergency call, the camera inspection and the replacement of a section of the sewer line was done well, efficiently and the personnel were personable. So, all went well. I think the prices are on the high side, but I made the choice to work with them anyway. BTW, my location is in the Asheville area and dealt with the local service people, even thought the company is located in Greenville, SC. The approximate cost of service, below, is for everything.

The Roto-Rooter calling service received my information and got me into the queue, and Jay quickly returned my call and told me he'd arrive in the next 45 minutes. Jay was punctual, courteous, and professional. He quickly got his equipment set up and used the sewer cleanout to find the culprit: tree roots. He offered several options for future maintenance, cleaned up his equipment, and made sure everything was running smoothly before leaving. Plumbing is never inexpensive, but honestly - I thought Roto-Rooter was reasonably priced, compared to what I've later heard from other plumbers. Notably: Jay chose not to jump immediately to a camera scope like some other plumbers would want to, which definitely saved me money.

The technician was able to clean the line quickly.

They identified the problem as a root growing underneath the pipe that caused the problem. They repaired appropriately. I would use again.

In total it took him maybe 7 minutes to unblock it. Very expensive service, extremely disappointed there was no option to just pay for blockage investigation, shouldn't cost me $365 i don't think.

I had to call another company and they came out, and they, I guess sent a little telescope or whatever down in the drainage line to see what the problem was. The problem was the pipe was broken and couldn?t be cleared, it had trees growing into the pipe. He told me if they had brought out their water jet to try to clear it, it wouldn?t work. It would have probably done more damage because it was an old line. Anyway, I had to have the line replaced. But, I still had to pay them like $300 to leave me with nothing. I even asked for a refund of anything, they couldn?t do it. He did apologize. I didn?t feel like that was right, but I felt obligated to him, he did spent time there. I appreciate that, but my problem wasn?t solved. I ended up spending a little over $3,000 to have that fixed. They was able to diagnosis it was a broken line.

They came out and they were not able to solve my problem. I was disappointed that they could not find my problem. I felt that they were a little bit pricey for not really solving the problem.

Took two trips because part wasn't readily available but turned out fine

The Roto Rooter technician Jay Weber, did an outstanding job of clearing a clog in my sewer line leading to the street. He: Arrived when said he would, he worked very efficiently and gave me a very comfortable feeling about his skills and explained what he was doing, he identified and solved the problem and confirmed it was resolved in a very professional manner, and at a very reasonable price. I had never needed a drain / sewer cleaning in the past and thus was not sure who to call, I choose Roto Rooter due to both the familiarity of the name and the positive comments from Angie?s List (In fact I joined Angie?s List for the express purpose of finding a Plumber). I am most happy to have made this choice. I will not hesitate to close Roto Rooter if I need Plumbing services in the future.

Everything went well until the finished and claimed additional payment on site for services already paid for. It took 6 weeks and numerous calls/emails to get reimbursed.

They were prompt and did a good job. It was expensive because of the truck which was required to do the job.

Angie's List advertised a deal for: "$45 worth of plumbing services for $20." I bought this deal on 5/21/15. I received a response from the service provider on 5/26/15 wanting to know what problem I was having so that they could schedule the service. I answered immediately. I received their reply on 5/29/15 with an apology for not getting it scheduled and asking me for a schedule date the following week. I gave them a 3-day window. Didn't hear back from them! Finally, on 6/9/15 I sent them an e-mail asking when they could schedule my service. The following day, they replied and said they could do it that day or the next. I told them to come the next day. Next morning, the plumber came and found the leaking water pipe. After the repair, the plumber explained what he found. Also, he showed me an about 12" section of half-inch copper pipe that he had cut out and replaced. The plumber was on site about an hour. He wrote up the ticket for $183.37, which did not allow for my $45 discount! After calling his office, they told him I was due a $45 credit. While on the phone he gave them my credit card information. He did not give me a copy of the invoice, but told me his office would mail me a receipt. Two weeks after completion, I have not yet received a copy of the work invoice nor receipt of payment. In summary, it took about three weeks to get my problem fixed, and I don't have any record of the work performed.

Cleared clog, replaced valve stems and re-puttied bathtub drain. Found that water pressure was already max. Low pressure at sink likely due to obstruction in faucet fixture. Abandoned effort to replace valve handle since might damage fresh water supply pipe at valve.

We had a leak in our front yard that needed immediate attention. It was a Saturday morning and very few plumbing companies were open. We had never used Roto-Rooter before but they exceeded our expecations - especially for a weekend service call. The office staff was very efficient regarding the estimated arrival time for the service person. Our serviceman was very good about keeping us updated on the progress of the work and any new problems/leaks that he found. He was very cordial and professional throughout the service call.

My overall experience grade for them would be a B.

They're not cheap but they're good. They showed up on time. They did a good work.

I contacted Roto Rooter for emergency service after determining that my water heater was leaking internally and seemed beyond replacement from the research I had done on my own. They sent a technician out promptly who confirmed that my water heater was shot, but would be unable to resolve the issue due to warehouse access over the Holiday weekend. The tech was friendly, professional, and very prompt. Though I ended up getting assistance from another company who could complete the work sooner, the experience was positive and I am a satisfied "almost customer."

The guy that showed up was awesome, very professional, kind and apologetic for the LONG wait. This is second time in less than 2 months I have used them and will definitely call with all my plumbing needs. Only recommend that if scheduler tells you two hours then its going to be six hours they should call so entire day isn't spent WAITING!

All work was on time and efficient. The work space was kept clean. Everything seems to work well. I would recommend him.

They were good. They were two guys and they were really good with it. They were reliable.

Every time that we've called them they have been great! Very professional and curious. They know what they're doing, and are great about giving you the "heads up" that they're on their way.3

During a shower, water was not draining and the other tub backed up. We called and they were here in 45 minutes. Very helpful locating the access to the sewer, and getting their machine in around our shrubs. Made observations about what was in the sewer (we have just bought the home) and made suggestions for the access line. Great job.

The gentleman that came out was top quality in every aspect!
