From start to finish, I see in retrospect and with experience that I was badly served.
Description of Work: Three years ago, my purchase of a Rainbow Play System seemed to have been a good experience, though I was concerned about shoddy installation. With the passage of time, I have become increasingly dissatisfied with the experience and with Rainbow. In retrospect, it is obvious that I was oversold and have been underserved. 1. Several design elements of my package were appropriate only for much younger children and should not have been included. This may have been good selling, but it's not good customer service. 2. The "lifetime guarantee" requires owner maintenance by annual treatment of the wood. I was not informed of this, so the equipment deteriorated unnecessarily. Only when I finally got a national representative on the phone to complain did I learn of the maintenance requirement. That representative was indifferent to my problem or Rainbow's responsibility. 3. Attempting to remedy to some extent the first problem, I ordered a replacement for one of the swings. Despite repeated follow-up on my part, I never got it. 4. The unsatisfactory installation continued to cause problems. I was never able even to get it inspected by a Rainbow representative, and the damaged areas have continued to be troublesome.

Website for Rainbow is extremely generic and offers no cost estimates. By requesting a catalog, however, I was fortunate to meet Abe Cantrell, who manages the Greenville dealership. During a dozen or more phone consultations, he helped me figure out what I needed and did not need, translate that to the Rainbow design language, and find a package that was available at a reduced price ("overstock") and could be installed within my time frame. He further reduced the price for cash payment, getting me a playset that met my requirements and my budget. When Abe could not do what I wanted, he said so and offered alternatives. When he agreed to something, he made it happen. The playground was installed in two phases, as agreed, in each case on the date promised. Installers report to regional distributor, who was absent, leaving me helpless to question some damages that I thought might have warranted correction and them helpless to leave without my check. A frustrating end to an otherwise good experience.
Description of Work: Design and installation of residential playground equipment. Above ratings refer to design & sale. Installation was less satisfactory.
