+ 0 moreI really want to thank the guys at Precision Carpentry and Plumbing for all of their great work. Joedy started the project with a thorough estimate. He really took his time to try to figure out exactly what we wanted. We were adding a 12'x17' covered porch that was going to butt up to an existing chimney roof. The pitch of the chimney roof was not going to match that of the new porch so we had several possible options. They really like to hammer out all the details in the beginning so you don’t get hit with any surprise change orders or upcharges. I really appreciated that! We were flexible on our timeframe but the crew was able to get started sooner than expected. John and Kevin were great about coordinating with my wife about when they would be working since we had just adopted a new 4 month old Lab Puppy. They were great about seeking out our input all along the way to make sure we were getting exactly what we asked for. The crew cleaned up at the end of each day and was very mindful of keeping the gate closed with the new puppy. The project was completed on schedule with the exception of the column wraps that took a little while to come in. We are very pleased with our new outdoor room and look forward to many years of good use. I would recommend the guys at Precision Carpentry without a second thought.

However, he spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me (I live in another state), going over the details of the job and telling me what to look for and what questions to ask and expectations to have with other contractors. He was extremely professional and helpful. I would hire him in a heartbeat.

The work crew was also confronted with challenges of multiple wall coverings and flooring layers and never complained about any extra work that might be involved to meet the project commitments. If there was a misunderstanding on any element of the project, I got a quick and fair resolution. If a Christian focus and sober work team is important to you, Precision Plumbing and Carpentry ensures you get both along with talented carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and painters. I recommend Precision Plumbing and Carpentry hands down and will be working with them again this fall to refinish the floors throughout the rest of the house.
Description of Work: I contracted with Precision Plumbing and Carpentry for a major renovation of our kitchen, breakfast room, back porch and master bath downstairs. Our house was built in the 1870’s. Charlie and his team took each room down to the studs and addressed unforeseen issues such as adding additional foundation piers, replacing rotten wood, joist & sill beam replacement, raising the height of the kitchen ceiling, plumbing and electrical to name a few. He also restored the back porch of our house and redesigned it to include a pantry, vaulted foyer, and laundry room. My wife and I put Charlie’s crew to the test with unfamiliar plumbing fixtures such as high tank toilets, a 500 lb cast iron claw foot tub and a 400 lb farmhouse sink. Charlie also coordinated an architect to provide design drawings to us for a new portico roof over the stoop. He built the covered back stoop for the house that required replacement of some of the metal roofing, joists, roof decking, soffit & fascia. Joining the new roof construction with the old was challenging but Charlie did a wonderful job and it looks amazing. I challenged Charlie to meet an aggressive time line on completion, and all of the major work was completed by that date with only small touch-ups that we were able to work around while his crew completed the work. Throughout the project, Charlie’s team responded to my every request, and I remained very involved in the entire project. Charlie has a critical eye for the work his team does and on more than one occasion he identified issues and addressed them before I knew there was a problem. He used a high powered light to examine the drywall and painting work to ensure no bad spots or thin coats of paint. We worked together on solutions to maintain the integrity of the old construction and he spent time at the site directing and working with his crew when necessary.

They are always on time, on schedule and on budget except for the changes we agree on during the work. And Charlie always manages to go above and beyond to match existing materials and do all of the extra things that make the job look and actually be professional.

+ 0 moreFloors were uneven on lower floor. Charlie came in, assessed the situation, determined what needed to be done. His crew arrived, very professional. Worked independently. Leveled the floors, so now our doors do not stick. While they were in the crawl space leveling the floor, they noticed that our expansion tank was leaking slightly. They notified us of the leak and we were able to have them fix that also. Crew cleaned up before they left.

Charlie at Precision also helped us find a couple of other contractors, painting, HVAC and electrical, that we needed. We are already using them on another property we have in the area.
Description of Work: We needed structural work after termite remediation plus general carpentry, plumbing, finish carpentry and floor refinishing to put the house, a rental property, back together.

+ 4 moreThis job was very unusual because there were a lot of problems which had to be fixed. Charlie gave me a detailed quote and explained it thoroughly. The project was on time and on budget. The best 3 things I can say about the team at Precision: they are honest, reliable, and fair. And, those were 3 important qualities to me when choosing someone to do this big job. At the end of the job, there were some minor things which I wanted corrected and Charlie made them right at no extra charge.
Description of Work: 1. Repair wall in garage and remodel master bathroom due to previous leak. 2. Install all new plumbing. 3. Install new tub/shower in bathroom. 4. Install new shelving in storage closet and above washer/dryer. 5. Repair old plumbing in crawl space.

+ 5 moreThis is the BEST company to work with. The contractor that came out to do the estimate also coordinated all the work. We were so lucky to have Todd Webb as our contractor. Everything was done in a great manner. Todd gave us a price and it never increased. His work----everything from the demolition, plumbing, tile work, sheet rock, painting, replacing the trim, etc was above excellent. He was always on time and very polite. I would hire this company for ANY job and if you use someone else in this area, you are missing out on great craftsmanship and he left the house clean after every stage. Unbelievably great job!!!! I am so greatful!!

The quality of work was amazing and the end product looked better than expected. Chip stayed in constant communication throughout the process. The overall price was unbeatable. I will definitely call Precision Carpentry and Plumbing for any future needs.
Description of Work: Laying Tile on the floors, walls, and in the shower. I had several big shelves with tile on those also including underneath them. Overall it was ~500 sq ft of tile.

+ 2 moreThe original work included construction of a new porch railing since the existing one was rotting and falling apart. Joedy arrived at the scheduled time and was very courteous and professional. He not only looked at porch railing, but also pointed out an issue with drainage and its effect on boxing and facia. Within a few days, Precision offered a detailed quote, explaining quote was customizable and negotiable. For example, I could contract them to construct the rail but I could paint it myself if I wanted. In the end, we agreed on scope of work and price. The work was done in a timely manner (by Todd) and the quality is exceptional...very solid and sturdy construction of railing and replacement of rotting facia! I was so pleased with their work that I have already had a second job completed: addition of an expansion tank on the water heater and drain line run to the outside of the house. Todd took the time to explain the problem and provide options. He was very responsive to my texts and calls, always answering any questions and being very flexible with my schedule. The work was again done in a timely manner and at a very competitive price! I will definitely call Precision for future jobs and recommend them to family and friends!

Everyone was professional, competent, and quick in completing their work. My wife and I were very happy with the outcome. An additional benefit is that Charlie's staff is comprised of practicing Christians. It was fun for us to discuss potential Churches for us to attend and to banter about our faith. We would definitely recommend Precision to our family and friends and will use them again in the future for additional projects!
Description of Work: It was a blessing to find Charlie and his team on Angie's List. We recently moved to Taylors, SC from Dallas, TX and were looking for a reputable contractor to assist with the remodeling of our home. After having several other contractors incorrectly assess the work needed, Charlie was able to quickly and accurately estimate the projects we intended to sub out. This included moving walls, creating new door openings, building a kitchen pantry and several closets, hanging cabinets, rerouting plumbing and installing an on-demand hot water heater.

He was super helpful and does things right. No cutting corners with poor solutions or cheap parts and his price was very competitive.
