Overall the quality of work was excellent. Charlie worked closely with us on every aspect of the job - from initial planning, picking out materials, to ensuring everything was as we wanted. The level of craftsmanship was outstanding. The finished product looks great and we will enjoy it for years to come. The new shower stall is clean and open. The free-standing tub looks beautiful. And the new floor and counter top really accentuate the room. His crew did a good job keeping the area clean and took care of any spills and incidental damage that occurred during the course of construction. I would definitely recommend Precision Carpentry to anyone looking for a reputable contractor to perform household renovations.

Charlie and his team were great to work with; I know this was a relatively small job, but they treated me just like I was a "big job" customer. Before I turned to Angie's list to find a contractor, I had other numerous contractors not return my calls, blow me off, and tell me that my job was too small for them because they only did big jobs like bathroom or kitchen remodels. In contrast, Charlie came over to my house to give me an estimate the day after we initially spoke on the phone. My wet bar remodel threw us some big surprises; when he removed the old cabinetry from the existing bar, we discovered that there an old fireplace behind it. This necessitated adding in some blocking behind the new drywall on the back wall so that I can add shelves to the wall. (I haven't done this yet because the tile work is so gorgeous that I'm questioning if I want to "disrupt" it with shelves). Of course, in a house that is 90 years old, nothing is level, but this did not phase Charlie's team; they worked around everything and were perfectionists in getting everything just right. They are accustomed to working in older homes and were not phased when they discovered how the house had been previously remodeled, wired and plumbed (sometimes in ways that didn't make sense). For instance, once they did the demolition of the old bar, they examined the wiring and determined that the wine fridge would be best on its own dedicated circuit. I was pleased with their attention to detail and ability to problem solve as these little surprises came up. The custom cabinetry turned out spectacularly. The person who does the cabinet finishing came to the house to discuss color ideas, look at the space, the tile and slate counter top that was planned, and considered the colors in dining room and living room adjacent to the wet bar and made several suggestions. I initially was thinking of a completely different color scheme, but when she suggested the beautiful dark turquoise blue color, I was sold! Each of his team members was polite and professional, always laying down drop cloths and vacuuming up every piece of dust at the end of each day. They were all great with my dog, and greeted her by name when they arrived. Even though the entire process took some time, they were so tidy at the end of the day that I never felt like the house was disrupted. Each team member was very pleasant to work with, and kept me informed of each step. I really can't say enough good things about Charlie's character and work ethic, and those of his team. I will absolutely call him again and very highly recommend him to anyone! I'd trust him with any job.

After buying our new house and moving to Greenville, we frantically searched for a skilled and experienced contractor, able to do both a meticulous kitchen and bathroom remodel on a time crunch. My husband just started a new job and we have 2 very young children. With the stress of moving and unpacking, I was nervous about having 2 renovations in the house simultaneously, especially with two young kids! Charlie (the owner of the company) is not only a licensed contractor, but also a licensed plumber and has numerous other certifications, which put both of our minds at ease on both renos! Charlie, and his crew exceeded our expectations!! After we agreed on the quote Charlie sent his team the next day to start demo. ?Precision? accurately describes his company, we were very impressed with how meticulous and skilled everyone was. The crew is gifted in each of their crafts, and extremely flexible and easy to work with which is always reassuring for someone with children. Not only did they do an outstanding job on both renovations, a few of the crew members did a few ?courtesy fixes? around our house and pointed out a few repairs that were needed down the road. (Thank you Charlie and Paul.) After the work was done each day, everyone was very polite and cleaned up their work areas which I appreciated very much, especially after a long day with the kids. Jamie and his tile crew (Brook, David, and Steven) did an amazing job tiling our floor, tub, and kitchen backsplash. If something wasn?t ?perfect? it was ripped out and redone. (I?m a bit ?picky,? but no one seemed to mind? in fact they welcomed it.) Charlie was very prompt with getting back to us whenever we had questions or changes. Everyone is very passionate about their work! Down the road, we want to have Charlie take on a few more projects. We know who we?ll be calling for our next reno! Charlie and his team were super nice, worked fast, cleaned up, and did an amazing job for a very reasonable price. I really appreciated that they took on my small job and were able to fit me into their schedule within a week of me contacting them.

We found Charlie on Angie's list after being totally frustrated with not getting responses from other contractors. He has been a Godsend! He is very knowledgable, professional, and personable - his tradesmen have been equally professional and overall good people. Our deck was bowed and leaning and very fragile - it was 30+ years old and had not been built with proper support originally; its amazing it lasted this long! Charlie's bid was not lowest but worth every penny so far. This is first of a string of much needed update/repair projects on our home and much more to go - we trust Charlie to deliver quality work at a fair price. He is a good, honest, hard working man and his integrity shines through in all he has done for us so far.

We have been totally pleased with the addition of the screen room and the easy to clean and efficient replacement windows. Charlie recommended that we get an architect to help plan and design the screen room. We did that and that was the best use of approximately $500 that we could have spent. The room looks like it was made with the house. Charlie made recommendations that improved the view from our kitchen window through the screen room to the back deck. He recommended using metal on the columns and the ceiling. This never requires painting. As the company name says the job was done with Precision. His finishing skills in carpentry are superior. He treats his workmen very well. Anyone wanting a screen room, house addition or a new house from the ground up should consider Precision Carpentry and Plumbing. I highly recommend them. We chose Charlie Dietrich and Precision Carpentry & Plumbing after an extensive review of Angie's List and after obtaining quotes from numerous other general contractors over a period of about three months. We settled on Charlie because he is the one contractor we felt the most comfortable with. We made the right decision. Charlie is honest and trustworthy. The finished product is wonderful. He did what he said he would do and more. He has a great crew of workers that were always polite, respectful, friendly and they used appropriate language. They did a decent job of cleaning up at the end of the day most of the time. Either my wife or I were around during most of the renovation and were impressed with their work ethic and professionalism. When we were away, we felt comfortable with leaving Charlie's crew in our house unattended. His carpenters and plumber do excellent work. The sub-contractors Charlie used for Electrical, Flooring and Cabinet Making have to be among the best there are. There were a few minor surprises along the way, which we expected in a 1962 home, but Charlie did what needed to be done with minimal additional cost. We ended up adding about $9000 in additions to the original quote while things were being ripped out and Charlie was very accommodating about making adjustments on the run. He quoted the job would take three months to complete and finished one month ahead of schedule. Please see the pictures for the best description of the quality work completed.

This is known to cause major problems in 15 or 20 years leaking and causing floods. The solution was inexpensive. Charlie is highly recommended and has more licenses than anyone I know. They helped design an appropriate product and did an excellent job of building it. The workers were professional and courteous. We are very pleased with the work.

It started with a wet spot in the downstairs ceiling, I determined that the upstairs bathroom shower drain was leaking when the shower was operating. Since there was ceiling and wood damage, I wanted a plumber and a carpenter. I located and chose Precision based on this criteria and because of the reviews. Precision provided me with an estimate based on what I told them, They said the price could vary based on what they actually found We made an appointment for the plumbing repair. They showed up on time and determined that it was more complex repair. However it was completed satisfactorily for only a little more. Since they were going to repair the ceiling anyway, I contracted with them to do other things I had been holding off on. Wall repairs, other ceiling repairs, install some light fixtures. All was done on time and on budget. They cleaned up every night. The team was courteous and respectful of my stuff. I am happy with the work and I plan on using them for other projects

Everything went well and they were able to provide insight and save money while giving the house a completely new look.

Charlie Dieterich and all the other gentlemen working with him were very professional and did a very high quality job in all areas of our home renovation! We were especially pleased that Charlie's firm covered all aspects of the renovation personally from design to electrical to carpentry and plumbing. It is obvious that Charlie and the men working with him take great pride in their work, and we felt we were given extremely good value for our money as well! As in any renovation project, there were a few delays, but Charlie always stayed in close contact with us and made sure the job was finished completely and we were totally satisfied. This is an almost new rent house that had been thoroughly abused by the most recent tenants. Charlie brought in Marshall and his crew and worked tirelessly for weeks to get this place in beautiful condition. Charlie is completely responsible, professional and delivers on his promises. There were no surprises along the way--he discussed all the details as we went forward and made a point to address all the fine points we didn't even know existed. For example, apparently one of the bedroom doors had been kicked in and the door jam had been shattered, then glued back together by the tenants. Rather than painting over it, Charlie spent the extra time to restore it for just the cost of materials. We'd approved the cost of $350 for a particular area that only ended up costing $125, We would never have known the difference had he not told us. We will use Precision Carpentry & Plumbing for a really big job we have coming up. I've already referred him to everyone I know in need of his services.

I started this project plan with Charlie with nothing but a hand drawn floor plan and a vision. Charlie put me immediately in touch with an architect who was great. He refined the details and worked closely with me to get the construction drawings finalized. The price for Charlie's architect was unbelievable (80% less than any other I had spoke with previously). Charlie provided me promptly with a simple itemized quote for the whole job (turn key). This quote document became the invoice as the job progressed which I really liked. As things were completed, $$ exchanged hands, and never was anything invoiced before it was fully complete. Before I go any further, I want to say that I was a very hands on homeowner and I took on a ton of work, planning, and purchasing myself. I even contracted some of the work to other people (friends and family mostly). I think most contractors, and probably even Charlie would love to have customers that don't get involved so heavily, but Charlie was very accommodating and bent over backwards for me on several occasions. It was a pretty seamless process if I wanted to take on more work or push more work towards Charlie. The quote/invoice would be modified and we would push forward. The quality of work is all top notch with zero cut corners. I used to work in the construction industry so I probably know more than the average homeowner about quality. If ever I was not happy with anything, Charlie would fix it or change it with no hesitation. The job took longer than initially planned but I put 90% of that blame on myself. I took charge of several projects that sort of put Charlie in a holding pattern. This would probably frustrate most contractors, but like I said before, Charlie was very accommodating. Charlie has a solid group of guys working for him. I got to know them very well, and you could not ask for better people working on/in your house. Honesty and integrity was off the charts. All the guys were obviously super experienced and have been doing this work a long time which is a huge intangible asset to have. Many times these guys would have ideas about how to improve things or would give me pointers on how to improve my processes, which in hindsight was super valuable. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Precision Carpentry. Charlie is as honest as they come, and honesty is a must have trait for your contractor. If anything was bothering me ,or I ever had any questions, Charlie was just a phone call away. I can probably count on 1 hand the times that I called Charlie and he didn't answer the phone immediately. And I called him hundreds of times. Any construction project is going to have bumps and bruises and unplanned issues (CITY OF GREENVILLE), but Charlie is the guy that will ensure that at the end of the day you're going to be happy and you're going to get quality work for a fair price.

He followed up with me right away. He came out and gave me a quote but I just do not need the work done anymore. We just had a baby and will be waiting to get our work done.

Our 40-plus year old bathroom was in bad need of a re-do. Precision Carpentry and Plumbing LLC - Charlie Dieterich and his crew - had a lot of work to do. They began by stripping the bathroom down to the wall studs, and floor joists - removing all sheetrock, and floor boards. They also removed all the debris each day as they completed that day's work. They found several "problems" with the bathroom, which most likely occurred during a previous "rotten floor repair" some 14 years earlier - by a different contractor. They needed to raise the rear of the bathroom floor by about one inch to make the floor level, they had to replace and support several floor joists, that were cut incorrectly, or not supported correctly. New sheetrock and strong 3/4 inch plywood flooring was installed. The bathroom floor is now as firm and strong, as if it were on concrete! We asked Precision Carpentry to not only re-fresh and re-model the existing bathroom, but to also change the layout of the floor, and space within the bathroom. We had them actually reduce an adjoining bedroom closet by about 12 inches, to allow the bathroom to have more space for a tall linen closet. They also moved the toilet from the middle of the bathroom, to a small area on the side - this required adding an extra privacy wall in the bathroom.. The major thing we asked them to do, was to remove the existing bathtub, and replace it with a walk-in shower. This required even more reconfiguration, in that they had to remove an existing closet within the bathroom, and reposition the existing main heating and air conditioning return duct. The new shower was tiled, and new shower fixtures were installed. Charlie added a "bench" within the shower, and, at our request, installed "grab-bars" to help us old folks get in and out of the shower without damage! New lighting was installed throughout the bathroom, using new LED lighting fixtures. The electrician, Randy Talbert, was excellent - could not ask for better electrical workmanship! In addition to the bathroom work, they also reworked the adjacent hallway. The hallway was covered with 20-plus year old wallpaper, which proved the be very difficult to remove. They removed the wallpaper, removed the existing "whole-house" cooling fan in the ceiling, framed and patched the hole in the ceiling which resulted from removing the whole-house fan. They also, at our request, replaced the aging attic stairs in the hallway. New sheetrock was installed in the ceiling of the hallway. A new small storage cabinet was added in the hallway, from space we gained when the AC duct was repositioned. The hallway and ceiling were repainted after the work was completed.. We are very happy with the results! This is our second project with Precision Carpentry and Plumbing, in as many years - and we have not been disappointed. We need our laundry room enlarged somewhat, and intend to ask Charlie and his crew to help us out with that also! ( Charlie - are you listening?) We have had several contractors over the 30 years we have lived in this house. Some have been good - none had been great until we worked with Charlie Dieterich and his Precision Carpentry and Plumbing LLC crew! Honest - hard working people you can trust!

The work was top notch. The attention to detail was evident from day one and the crew was patient, informative and professional. Charlie went out of his way to accommodate minor changes required. There was an issue with the configuration of the amazing drop ceiling and his team creatively came up with a great solution that added to the appeal. Precision Carpentry stands behind their work and immediately responded to any concerns I had during the build. They pride themselves on workmanship and getting the job done right. This was clearly evident throughout the process. The inspector also commented on the quality of both the rough inspection and the finished product. I couldn't be more pleased and most importantly my mother absolutely LOVES the space.

The service went okay. I had them install steps. I thought it was weird that the wood of the steps did not match.They were very responsive and easy to schedule with. One technician came out and completed the job in about 2 day.

,I noticed a leak coming from under the slab of my condo. I called one plumber who I will not name but he came out and said that he will repair the leak but I would have to get someone who had to repair the slab after the work. I chose not to use them but they charged me $50 for nothing. I called Precision Carpentry and Plumbing and talk to Charles the owner. I called him at 4pm and thought he would not come out until the next day. To my surprise he sent out a crew in an hour. The crew work until 11pm and finished the work the next day. The plumber i believe went above and beyond to complete the job to my satisfaction.

The process was just as Charlie explained it would be. He was very honest upfront about what to expect, and gave me good advice about what would work best, since I had very little knowledge about home improvements. After 3 years waiting to find the right contractor, when I met Charlie, I knew he was the one. He is an honest man who does very good work for a fair price. The total process took about 8 weeks and was so worth it.

We found a leak in our garage that was coming from a deck to our bonus room. Precision Carpentry and Plumbing was hired to fix the leak. In addition to that, we also had them repair the other two decks on our house which essentially had the same problem. All three decks had existing tile removed, along with damaged wood, skirt boards, etc. All decks were reinforced with new materials. Waterproof membranes were installed and all decks had new tile installed. A new door was installed in the bonus room along with the opening being reframed. We also had the ceiling in the screened in porch replaced. Our front entrance had repairs along with new trim and paint. Charlie's crew was excellent. They were all very courteous and prompt. I felt comfortable with his crew while they were working at my house. If any problems were encountered, Charlie was quick to respond. We were happy with the work completed. I would definitely use Precision Carpentry and Plumbing again.
