Description of Work: Contacted Charlie Dietrick about repairing/replacing a leaking water heater. He spoke with me several times on the phone and was very helpful and generous with his time on the phone. He met me at the house and recommended replacement. |Due to Placement of Water heater in garage, he gave me 3 options: (1) replace power-vent water heater -- expensive water heater but Installation Quoted less than $400. (2) Move water heater to other side of garage and replace with standard type water heater--water heater cost half of 1st option but more expensive installation. (3) Replace with tankless water heater. Similar cost water heater as 1st option, but installation more expensive. |He recommended 1st or 3rd option as best. | |After meeting charlie, water heater completely failed next day, making fast replacement urgent. No local plumbing suppliers carried the type of water heater I needed, so I went with a tankless water heater which was available. | |The only reason I did not use Precision Carpentry to install was because he had not been certified by the tankless heater manufacturer (Navien) for installation and it would have voided the warrantee. |I will definitely call/hire Charlie for future plumbing needs based on this experience.

Description of Work: Replaced leaking water line to my house. Trenched in new line from meter to cutoff in basement. Good job and cleanup. Would definitely use again.

Description of Work: We had our laundry room remodeled which consisted of putting in custom cabinets, countertops,plumbing for a new sink, and some electrical work. Overall I love the way it turned out, it just was a very hard process. They measured the room 3 different times and then called me and asked me to re-measure part of it. I don't believe the cabinet maker(subcontractor) ever showed up within 2 hours of when they were suppose to be here. It would even be days later and I never received a call telling me they wouldn't be here. When cabinets didn't fit right it was blamed on walls not being straight. I had to point out that shelves were unlevel and nails stuck through walls. I know most of this was the subcontractors fault but Precision recommended and hired the subcontractor.

Description of Work: Beautiful job remodeling two bathrooms in travertine.

Description of Work: Mainly remove the wall (Load Bearing Wall) and replace with two pillars between the Living Room and Family Room. Made the entrance from Living Room to Dinning Room Larger giving the living area an open floor plan. Did a very good job of keeping the dust to a very minimum. Overall very good job. Description of Work: Charlie and his crew remolded 2 bathrooms for us last year. Recently we had a minor problem in the master bathroom. I called Charlie on a Monday and by Thursday the problem was corrected. Precision Carpentry is the only construction company I would trust to do remodeling and repairs for us. I wanted to give the entire renovation job, but friends of family that are also in construction could give be a better price because they knew my mother and needed the work. | |Thank you, Charlie.

Description of Work: We had a pretty major master bath remodeling project that we bid out to several contractors. In the end we chose to work with Charlie because of his experience and the ideas he helped us develop. The job involved a complete tearout of the existing bathroom and included adding an outside door, a wall, arching a doorway, extensive tile work, electrical, etc. The project took over six weeks to complete and Charlie and his team worked everyday to finish in a timely manner. His sub subcontractors were professional and alway showed up when they were supposed to. We have had some tile issues that have had to be addressed but Charlie always returns calls within a few hours and has been responsive. Like some of the other posts I feel Charlie takes great pride in his work and is truthful and honest.

Description of Work: The good service began during the estimate process. Charlie Dieterich knew that I was getting several bids, so he educated me about each part of the project , telling me what I should watch for and the questions I should ask of other contractors. He also gave me options with varying prices so that I could better determine how I wanted to spend my limited remodelling budget. Being new in town, I used a designer from Birmingham with whom I had done two previous remodels, so I really trust her. Charlie worked well with her and let her know when he found it necessary to deviate from her construction drawings. And it was toward the end of the project that I began to realize Charlie's great attention to detail. Rather than simply put paint on the surfaces, he brought lights in and searched the painted surfaces for areas that needed touch-ups. This was important because there were few overhead lights in the house and the paint was moderately dark. The walls look great! Charlie seemed to have my best financial interest at heart throughout the project. One visitor who overheard him making suggestions to me said "Charlie seems to be really looking out for you." After this first project, I think he knows the look I want and what I expect, and he's already worked with my designer, so I'll use his for Phase II as well. I trust him and know he will do a good job and deliver a good value.
