Description of Work: WARNING/BEWARE: In January of 2013, Don Larke of LDL handyman services signed a contract agreeing to complete interior painting and staining at our new construction residence in LEXINGTON, SC. He stated the work would be completed within 3 weeks (and as per the signed contract). Then he didn't show up for about the next two weeks. He did finally send a "helper" over to paint, but he was obviously not an experienced painter. It took over 8 weeks to complete less than half of the work with Don and "helpers" showing up sporadically (+ the work wasn't of professional quality). We paid him over half of the contract price. After he falsely accused my wife of yelling at him/his crew one day while I was out of town (with her sitting right next to me), we asked him to just get his tools and leave. Turns out that yet again he wasn't actually on our job site and somehow misunderstood one of his helpers. He later apologized and assured us that he could/would finish the job. After giving him multiple extensions and making multiple attempts to have Don finish the work, he then stated he couldn't finish the job due to injuring his knee sometime in early-mid March (although after he made that statement, we and others witnessed him climbing a ladder without assistance and easily bending his knees without a knee brace). He then went MIA completely and we didn't hear a word from him until he texted us around April 7th asking if we had the paint finished yet and saying he wanted to come get his tools. Being that this is new construction, there have been multiple subcontractors and crews in and out since Don went MIA and abandoned any tools here. HE actually had the nerve to show up at our house today out of the blue to demand his tools. He even called the cops to "avoid confrontation". We were happy to give him any items that clearly had his name on them (as I suggested he do when he started since a lot of tools look a like). He still insisted that we have more of his tools, which we DO NOT. We have no control if another subcontractor took his so called tools (by mistake or not). It was not our job to babysit/secure his tools. We've now retained legal counsel and will be pursing this further through the legal system/courts.

I had used this person previously and he always did a good job. I asked him for a quote on the job and decided to go with him. When I hired him, he agreed to work on Fridays because that is when I am home. We agreed that it would take much longer this way but we both agreed to it. He started with the frame for the tub and shower which took him several weeks. He missed several weeks because he was sick and other excuses. Many times while he was here, he would leave for several hours or come for just half a day. I had a deadline of March because of a wedding. I had to give an advance for materials and at Christmas he asked for an advance so he could buy presents for his kids. After Christmas, he called me and told me that his bid was too low and that if I wanted the work completed that I would have to pay three times the original price. I fired him. Everyone that came to look at the shower told me that it was done incorrectly and would have to be redone.
Description of Work: The man was supposed to build a platform for a set in tub and build and tile a shower as well as install the plumbing and hang the shower door.

Description of Work: picked up and install kitchen cabinet. walls and floors were not even so don worked hard to make sure that the tall cabinet was flush with both walls and floor. excellent job. I have an old house and every job takes a great amount of patience and expertise. I was extremely pleased with the outcome.
