Trey was fabulous to work with. I emailed him two photos on a Saturday and within an hour or so he called me, explained why the table had cracked (because of the wood grain direction and being secured too tightly to the base) and came by that afternoon to pick up the table and chairs. He estimated that it would take about 2 weeks to finish the job, and the refinished furniture was delivered a bit sooner. We couldn't be more pleased.
Description of Work: Restored our farmhouse table that was made from wood from grandparents farm (circa 1940's). The table was made with the wood grain perpendicular to the length of the table and the top was secured to the base, so humidity changes caused it to crack extensively over the years. The table also had water damage (from leaving a wet plant as a centerpiece). Greystone antiques repaired the cracks, added sliders to the underside of the table so that the top could "float" on the base, and refinished the table. They also repaired four antique wood chairs and were very unsteady because of missing or loose pieces and one that was missing a spindle.

The overall repair went smoothly. He arrived on time to give us an estimate of what needed to be done. He took the piece with him at that time. He returned the piece on time as promised and now it looks great. The original glass was put back and the drawers fixed.
Description of Work: We had an antique secretaire that we had inherited restored. The Georgian piece was from the 1700's and needed the glass repaned and fixed. A couple of the wooden teardrops around the glass need to be fixed. Also, the drawers wouldn't open and close. Greystone basically took the piece apart and fixed the drawers and the glass. He did an excellent job. The repair wasn't expensive because we exchanged two other pieces in addition to the payment.

Our Ethan Allen dining table had a lot of damage from a large floral/candle centerpiece which caught on fire. There were quite a few places where the finish was ruined and some areas were burned through the finish and into the wood. Trey Sherman picked up the table and refinished it at his antique store where he restores and sells antiques. He repaired the burn areas, including hand-painting of the wood grain, so that you cannot tell where the damage was. He upgraded the finish to a UV grade so the table top will not fade, since it sits in front of the dining room window. I only requested the top be refinished, but he put a new finish on the legs at no additional charge. The pick up and delivery charge was $100, which was well worth it, so the total was $600. I will refer others to him.

Description of Work: I inherited my grandparents dining room suite but needed it refinished due to decades of smoking and use. I've only lived in Greenville for 5 years and found Trey's number after seeing Greysone Antiques. They refinished my dining table and chairs on time and did an amazing job. I will be using them again for the restnof the furniture. pick up and delivery was an added bonus!
