New roof put on

Davis Contracting gave us a competitive quote on replacing a 21-year old roof with premium architectural shingles. Everything went very smoothly, from the appointment for the inspection/quote, to the old roof tear off, to the new roof installation, and all the associated cleanup. Our old roof had several problem areas, and Davis dealt with these issues very effectively. After two subsequent heavy rains we’re pleased to no longer have these problems, and the roof looks beautiful. The entire Davis crew was helpful, hard-working, and careful, and I highly recommend them.

Davis contracting was the first to respond to our call. We had hail damage and I was selling this home for a client. They had the job done way ahead of schedule and cleaned up their mess after the job was done. All to often contractors leave a mess behind and we were so grateful that they were quick, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves!

The crew was professional ; punctual and finished sooner than I anticipated. I am very pleased with the company . My roof was damaged and leaking. The new roof and gutters are absolutely beautiful.I plan to replace vinyl and windows also and would not choose any other company. I have already recommended Davis to friends and family. They were quick to respond, both to quote and perform work. 2.5 days for total roof replace, great crew which also cleaned up the work site nicely. Upgraded shingles also, and got ridge vent installed. They also removed old roof power vent that had stopped working.

Work was good

After being hit with one of the worst hail storms in South Carolina history, it was determined that we needed new roof, siding and gutters. We wanted someone to handle all three items. Our next door neighbor advised she had an excellent contractor do her roof ten years ago. As it turns out it was Davis Contracting, a company that was able to handle all our needs. We met with Terry Lanford, who guided us through this process. He handled our insurance company ensuring that we would be able to get all items done even with a 1% overall insurance deduction. Their prices were fair and affordable. His crews were excellent, they were courteous and professional keeping everything clean during their work. Davis exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend them. Ten stars out of ten.

Okay I guess. I had requested one of three times to come to my house and figured if they couldn't come to one of those, they would call. They came when no one was at home without calling. I was disappointed because I had questions and wanted them to add a few minor things to the order. When I talked with them the next day, they were very polite and told me the things they had done.

the work by Davis construction went excellent. Davis contractors provided a free estimate; kept all their appointments promptly; performed all work as described in their estimate; and provided a very competitive price. we would certainly hire them again and can enthusiastically recommend.

The work was done good. The prices advertised was a little misleading. Advertised as price would cover most houses. My house is small in comparation to my neighborhood.

Shane from Davis Contracting contacted me immediately after purchase to set up an appointment. My roof was twice as large as the quoted service, so I was quoted a total price by Shane during his visit. Work began the very next week and was completed in two days. There was some additional repair needed around my chimney where I had a water leak in the original roof. Davis Contracting was able to repair that as well while they were completing the roof. I am very satisfied with my new roof, and would recommend Davis Contracting for anyone needing this type of work.

Workers started in the same week as scheduled. As needed they used tarps to catch old roofing materials. At end of each day, they did a thorough clean up. Work was done in sections, so even with an occasional thunderstorm, there never was a risk of water damage from the rain. Team was careful and thorough in doing a great job with our new architectural shingles.

Arrived promptly on the scheduled start date and went to work. They laid down tarps to catch all the old roofing materials, at the end of each day they completely cleaned up everything. They did the job is sections, so that if we did get rain, the whole house would not be at risk. The first day, they did the back, 2nd day, shed and bonus room, and finished up the front on the 3rd day. When the job was completed, not one scrap of paper or shingle was to be found. This was a major concern, because our little Morkie dog will eat anything. But no worries, no nails, no scraps, no nothing. Terry, the guy that gave us the estimate and showed up each day to get the crew started, answered all our questions, and was easy to work with, plus Maggie our Morkie loved him, and she is a great judge of Character! Davis was not the lowest bidder, but they did quote better materials than the other vendors we had quote the job.

Davis roofing is amazing. A crew of four guys put on the roof in one day. They worked from 7 am to 8pm with only taking a 20 minute lunch break. They were amazing. Professional, friendly, and extremely hardworking. Great quality and the bid was $1500 below their nearest competitor. I will never use another roofing company.

I don't live in the property, but the tenant was very happy with how the work was conducted and the end result. The site was clean and free of roofing debris when I visited and the roof and all its components were finished beautifully. Mr Davis was very professorial the work was done promptly and I am very pleased with the roof.

During the preliminary steps, information about insurance, evaluation and replacement costs were stated with contractor. It was difficult to determine his actual cost and profit margin but our cost matched insurance reimbursement to the penny. Crew was quick to remove the old shingles and work was professional and thorough during installation and cleanup.

The crew showed up and did the work on Dec. 10-11. They did not explain that they would cut the ridge of the roof and we did not know to cover the items in our attic, so the attic was littered with sawdust and bits of the roof ridge. They did a fair cleanup job but we still found items in the yard. Before the work was done, Davis wanted paid in full for the job. The roof leaked into the attic and down into the lower floor of our house on the evening of Dec. 18. Rain dripped on my head while sitting reading in a chair. We called to report this. Shane Davis started talking about ice dams on metal roofs. That was not the problem. Two men came on Dec. 19 and worked on the chimney and said they would return on Monday, Dec. 21 to put foam in the roof vent. Shane Davis (owner) had not instructed them to put the foam in when the roof was installed. They were prompt in returning and installing the foam. The roof leaked again Christmas morning and we called to report leaks. It was not leaking at the ridge line, but was leaking around the chimney and in a location at a point where the roof line breaks/changes. We did not get a call back. We went out of town on the 25th without knowing what was going to be done. On Dec. 28 we emailed to Mr. Davis pictures of the line of buckets in the attic, the wet roof line and the leak in the chimney area. A neighbor called us on Dec. 28 to report men working on our roof. I called Davis' cell phone during business hours that day and asked for an explanation, and had to leave a message. I left my cell phone number. He called the land line and left a message. We got the message on Jan. 2, after returning home. The explanation Mr. Davis gave for water in the attic was condensation. No wonder! The roof had been leaking. He stated that another small leak had been found in the chimney, and that it had been fixed. We are still not sure if the roof will work when it rains again. The lack of intelligent answers to our questions in regard to continuing leaks has proven extremely frustrating. This job is not resolved until it rains and there are no leaks.

When we purchased our home from the previous owner, we immediately wanted to replace the roof. We got several bids, with the one from Davis being the most comprehensive and at a reasonable cost. It was a big job because the previous owner had installed several layers of shingles without removing the previous layers (four layers were on the roof when we purchased.) Davis arrived on time, and worked efficiently. The only problem we had was that we had a very windy storm in the middle of the installation. There was some leaking, but we called Davis the evening it happened, and he sent people out then to recover the roof. The next day they came back and cleaned up the interior damage. Despite the problem, the roof was completed on schedule, and looks great.

This started out as a patch job but we ended up agreeing it would be more feasible to go ahead and start over fresh. They did a good job and completely finished everything in just one day. That was a plus for me and I would recommend these guys to anyone who would ask.

I am not to sure how much detail I can go into on the matter. They came on time, laid the roof, cleaned up and gave me an average bill. After that, they were on their way to another job. The roof looks good and I am happy to of have it done. They did not give me any troubles during the installation and I thought it all went good.
