Went very well, the HVAC serviceman was polite and very professional.
The inspection lasted approx. 40 minutes. No issues were found during the inspection.
The price, in my opinion, was a bit high for the service rendered.

I observed that the A/C unit was not working about 5pm. I looked at Angie's list for recommended repair providers in the local area. Carolina Heating Service was the recommended service. I contacted them about 6pm and the repairman arrived about 1 hour later. He was very pleasant and when I explained the problem he went right to work diagnosing the problem, after about 20 minutes examining the out side unit and then the inside unit he report that the motor capacitor was not functioning. He then discussed the pricing alternatives for the repair. The alternatives were $195.00 for the service call plus $161.00 for the capacitor with a 10% Angie's List coupon from the service call for a total of $336.50. Or, If I purchased a one year service plan for $267.00 then the capacitor would only be $137.00 and the service call minus the 10% coupon would be $87.75 for a total of $491.75. I chose the one year service plan. The repair was completed and the system returned to service. This is the first A/C emergency repair service I have ever needed and therefore, cannot make a judgement about the price. However the service was very prompt and professional.

They were supposed to do an analysis of the ductwork that they were replacing.
The loop and furnace appear to be acceptable
However, they didn't finish the ductwork; the boots that connect the ducts to the registers were not insulated. Bare metal was exposed as a result on all the boots. One boot was not even connected to the duct. This resulted in sweating on those surfaces, and all the insulation covering the ducts had water inside. Our house has pine flooring, some of it 85 years old. The floors were damaged and mold grew under most of the house underneath and even on some windows. Discoloration appeared around most of the floor around the registers. When we confronted the owner, he said this was our fault as we didn't clean the filter or call them for maintenance (six months). He further said that the company had tried to contact us, but we didn't receive any message from them. Furthermore, the thermostat has messages about the maintenance dates and we cleaned the filter when so instructed. Additionally, about two weeks after our meeting with the owner, a message came up on our thermostat stating that it was time for our 6 month maintenance. We were instructed when the furnace was installed to monitor the thermostat display for such messages.
We are hiring another company to redo the ductwork and remove the mold (around 8000.00 dollars).

Being new to the area and new homeowners, we wanted to make sure that the furnaces were clean and would function properly throughout the winter months. The technician was professional and went about his job quickly. We were surprised to find out that the air condition boxes were not included in the inspection though. That would have cost more money. We also found out that had we dealt with the company directly, we could have saved money by simply signing up for a contract for service which would have covered us for an entire year including the air conditioners. We did like the service and the company and do recommend them. We will be using them again, but will not be going through Angie's List to do it.

When Derek came into the house he put some shoe protectors on his shoes. He explained what he was seeing and doing through the whole process. He have us some good information about our HVAC system that we were not aware of. He was able to answer every question we had. We will definitely call Carolina Htg and Air when we need their services again. This was our 1st experience with Angie's List and we are very impressed. We will recommend both services. Thank you.

Scheduled an inspection on both our units. Bought a service plan with them also. Technician came out again about a week later to do fall maintenance, will come back in spring as well. Very friendly and informative. Answered all our questions and he gave us some energy saving tips for our home. Technician's name was Bill.

Carolina Heating responded on a Saturday (extra cost, but worth it) to repair my air conditioner. They kept me apprised of when the repairman was going to arrive. He was professional and found the problem in a timely manner.

The technician arrived at the agreed time. He introduced himself, gathered additional information from me and got to work locating the issue. After the issue was resolved, he went outside and made sure the external units were functioning properly before signing off.

Came home from work Tuesday to find furnace was not working. Called first thing Wed AM and service truck arrived 10AM. Repair immediate. Heat back on before afternoon. Service Plan also purchased at this time.

Excellent service experience. I knew going into this that these folks were on the high end when it comes to cost, but I'm a firm believer in " You get what you pay for". I consider the question of "Value", to be the more important question, and this company made the higher cost worth it. The service technician was thorough, prompt, knowledgable and professional. He performed an annual service on two heat pump systems and installed two new programable thermostats. He set up the programs on the thermostats and instructed us on how to use them. He also discussed other options that are available when it comes to replacement systems. Our home is 15 years old and some of the equipment is original and will need replacing in the near future. I will definitely use this company to do the work.

Came in to replace thermostats that were the old mercury ones and to fix a failed attempt to install ones purchased earlier. he traced out the wiring to determine that the unit had been wired incorrectly from installation and resolved that issue and a system board issue that prevented the unit from turning on. Installed a second thermostat for the other unit that required an upgrade at the same time. All in all he was at the house for about 2 hours and with the cost of the thermostats removed left about 150.00 for labor out of the 273.00 price tag of the repair. Very personable and responsive to our needs and listened in detail to ensure he understood the exact issue before starting the work.

They come out twice a year for service and if I need something, they are there right away. They are very friendly, they are always on time, and they always call you right before they get out there. And when you get a crunch time, they really do respond with you on the contract and they are there when you have an emergency. They came out to our house this past summer; it was a 100 degree day and our air conditioner went out and they were there within two hours on a Sunday. They are great.
