Wanted too much money for a tech to come out on Sunday. Only wanted part.

They are great. They are very prompt.

I discovered my the heat part of my heat pump wouldn't work. The person who came to repair my old unit explained in a clear fashion what wasn't working and the choices I had. The repair guy was courteous and easy to understand. The sales person was a bit intense but I'm pleased with the unit.

Experience was excellent as always. Thorough maintenance on each heat pump and reported to us on the condition of each unit. Each is in excellent condition.

On the day of the job their service tech arrived on time with all the equipments they needed to perform the removal and installations. By 3 o'clock They completed both HVAC job and 50 gal water heater is replaced. The sevice tech did an excellent job from the removal to installation, to clean up. Carolina Heating Service arrived to add refrigerant due to the air conditioner failing to cool the house. They performed an inspection and determined that the Fan Motor and Capacitor had shorted out and needed replaced. I spoke with Allen, and he said the charge would be $1061. He also mentioned that the price may go up after he gets the unit running, because the unit may need refrigerant. I was undecided about what to do, but decided to shop around. I looked online at Carolina Heating Service company reviews via a Google search, and found another person who had the exact same issue. That person was able to find another company who did the work for a whole lot less. Unfortunately, the prior customer didn't mention the name of the other company. That's when I decided to become a member of Angie's list. I found a different company who came out the same day we spoke, he was able to do the same work for a total of $487.00. THIS IS LESS THAN HALF of what Carolina Heating Service was charging. Yes, he used new parts. (This was the first question we asked after finding out he was charging so much less. THE DIFFERENCE WASN'T THE COST OF PARTS, BUT THE COST OF LABOR. Thank you Angie's List for saving me over $500. I will now be a lifelong member!!!

We have been using Carolina Heating for months now. They're highly reliable, nice and punctual.

We have a "Goodman" heat-pump unit that is about 6 yrs old for the second floor of our home. For the second time, the fan motor & capacitor have failed on us. The person who installed it and has been out before to fix it has since retired. When it failed recently we looked up local companies here on Angie's list and based on reviews called Carolina Heating Service, Inc. The person I spoke with on the phone was very courteous and responsive to our situation. The tech who came out was prompt and respectful.The issue I have with them centers on cost. A quick search online shows that the capacitor can be purchased for around $30, and a fan motor for our unit between $80 and $140. Carolina Heating wanted $640 for parts. This is not counting the $95 to come out to the house. So that's $735 total to come out and fix the problem. Instead, I made a few more calls and found someone to take care of it for $250 total, parts and labor. Last time this happened (two years ago) it was about $200, so prices have jumped a bit). Yes, Carolina Heating does offer a discount of 50% on service charge and a discount on parts if you sign up for their "maintenance plan" but that still would have come out to approx $500 plus the maintenance plan charge (actually quote was $889 for the whole package of repair + plan). I'm not going to get on the topic of the value of these "maintenance plans" except to say that a cousin in the industry has advised me to "save your money" (but there are steps every home owner should be sure to do. Such as changing air filters, keeping debris out of the units, etc.).

Professional service. Put covers on his shoes before he came in the house and took them off and returned them each time he came back in the house. Was very knowledgable and helpful and gave me the contract for the maintenance agreement. He did not have my size a/c filters so he used mine, but he said he owed me 2 filters. I will call and get the two filters since I need to change the filter before they come out next. Overall excellent impression for first time service. Jo Schnittman

The Carolina Heating technicians were totally professional in all areas of the installation. They were very considerate of our property and belongings. They arrived on time each day and worked hard all day long, taking only short breaks for lunch. We have been customers of Carolina Heating for approximately seven years. We have always received excellent and professional service and this experience was no exception.

They did an excellent job. We were actually looking to upgrade our heat pump and their sales man was really good. He actually talked us out of it, which we thought was very admirable. He let us know what we had was efficient and working well. I really liked the sales person we dealt with, if we decide to get a new unit, we’ll consider them highly.

We were new to the upstate SC area and had only been in our house about 3 weeks when we called about a new HVAC system. Carolina Services set up an appointment for a Trane Comfort Specialist to visit us the next day to determine our needs and answer any questions. We were pleased with the system he suggested and placed the order the same day. We financed the system using a Wells Fargo low interest Visa home improvement loan through Carolina Svc One week later , the company called on Wednesday to set up an appointment for installation. They were able to install the next day. The technicians were very professional and did a stand up job on the installation. No shortcuts. The work took 2 days with all debris being hauled away the first day. They followed up with another Senior Tech who came about 1 week later to fine tune adjustments on air flow and inspect the system. All personnel involved in the process were polite and helpful ... on the phone as well in person. It is refreshing to have a positive experience with a contractor. We chose this company because they would service the Seneca SC area and had positive reviews on Angies List. I have no comparison to judge the cost, however the company emphasizes that it is dedicated to customer service. Peace of mind is worth a great deal to us. We did find that the cost for the Santa Fe Stand Alone Dehumidifier was considerably much less if we purchased online from a third party. We spoke to the Carolina salesman about it and he did reminded us that if they installed it, they would back it personally.

It is an established company, and they have been in business for about 46 years, which adds to their credibility. They are always very nice and helpful. The price of $242 is for a complete checkup, which includes two appointments, once for the spring and once for the fall. Their price is average and competitive - I want to make sure that everything is done correctly, especially on this kind of service. They go through all of the different products and test out if anything needs to be replaced, like the filters for example, and make sure everything is working properly. The technicians that come out really seem to know their stuff. They are very punctual and courteous. They don?t track mud through the house - they wear little slippers that they put on. They are very conscientious about coming into my house. I would use them again in the future.

They are a great company. They give good service all the way around. We have used them for regular maintenance. When we moved in five years ago, they installed a new heating and A/C unit.

I had called 3 other HVAC contractors around Easley, SC, before calling CHS. No particular reason for that order; just how it worked. Every one of the other 3 promised me something, a call-back, a visit, some info, etc. Not one of them did what they told me they'd do! I won't tolerate that kind of business practice! CHS did exactly what they promised, when they promised, how they promised! All around, a class act!

Excellent. I had a couple of instances to call for adjustments and they were here within 24 hours, called ahead of the scheduled arrival time to confirm and then called within 30 minutes of their arrival at my home. They are prompt, courteous, professional and extremely patient with all my questions. They are courteous of my home and thorough in their clean up after service. I would recommend this company to anyone in the market for new HVAC or to service an existing system. Scott should be proud of his team.

It went very well. I interviewed 4 firms to do the work. They weren't the cheapest, but you really get what you pay for. HVAC is not something you want the lowest bidder to do for you. Carolina Heating took the most time during the bidding process to find out my concerns (hot/cold rooms, drafts, dust,etc) measured my home, windows, insulation, attic and crawl space to make sure the unit they install would be perfect for my needs. They completed the job in in under 2 full days. They walked me through the entire system and showed me how everything worked, how to program the thermostat, change the furnace filter and they come back to my house if I have any questions. All of the entire staff, including the lowest guy on the install crew, were very courteous and professional. The system they installed is very sophisticated and does a fantastic job maintaining my family's climate comfort inside. The system is saving me about 40-50% on my power bill compared to this time last year.

I thought that the work was done very well. The price seemed a little high for such a small job but I guess you get what you pay for. If you want a quality job to be done by professionals it is worth it. They do a good job.

We received three estimates for three different models, and it was all ridiculous. They said we needed new vents, ducts, parts outside installed and parts in the attic. It was crazy and unnecessary for a home this size to need so much. We have perfectly good vents and ducts. They were nice, but we felt they were trying to get all they could out of us. We decided not to go with them, and we are looking for more estimates.

They did excellent work and I thought they did a great job. They were very professional and prompt. When we called about a problem, they came right out to take care of it. I would hire them again in a second.
