Brookview Renovations is a veteran owned, family operated Fencing company specializing in wood privacy fences. Our part time employees are Police and Fire Fighters looking for Extra pay. It is our little way to give back to first responders while also increasing the caliber and professionalism of our company. Home owners can feel safe when we are on their property.
This fence project was a nightmare. I told the Salesperson and the Project Manager that I wanted a fence that my dogs could not see through to avoid conflicts with the neighbors’ dogs. I literally said I wanted a fortress, a stockade. They recommended a stockade fence with premium lumber that wouldn’t shrink or have spaces. I was told to pay half up front. They charged me the entire amount upfront and said that they could only refund half through a check. By the time that happened the job would have been done so I said it was fine. (The owner said it was my fault because I should have been able to change the amount manually. Not his fault for charging the wrong amount.) Poor finance procedures. Poor customer service. They use subs and they don’t supervise them. I told the Project Manager that I needed to know what time to expect the crews in the mornings because I needed to be up and dressed and the dogs out, pottied and back inside before they arrived. The first morning he said they would be there “first thing” so I was ready at 8:00. One guy arrived at 10:15. On one day when they weren’t expected they woke me when they pulled in at 8:15 so I had to take the dogs out one-by-one on leashes. Poor communication. Poor project management. Because of rain delays, they had to finish the job when I was out of town. I wanted to wait until I was back but the Project Manager said that if I made them wait, they couldn’t start another job and it would affect their income and that he would be sure everything went well. So I agreed. They were using my garage for tools and to access electricity and for shelter from intermittent rain. I told them to close the garage door when they left. They did not and my garage and house were open for 3 days. (The Project Manager, who was supposed to be supervising said it was my fault because I shouldn’t have let them use the garage. They should have used a generator. How would I know that they had generators? If he was supervising, he would have seen the situation.) Poor respect of property. Poor customer service. Process aside, if the fence was great at the end of the day, I would have been happy. But the fence does not serve the purpose. The boards are uneven and there are gaps between them that I can fit my pinky through. At the end of the row, they had to cut one of the boards into a wedge to fit. It looks terrible and it’s at the front of the property. And, after only two weeks, one of the boards has become un-nailed from the frame. The Salesperson doesn’t respond to my texts. When I called the Project Manager he texted me that he is at an early lunch and will call me later. I left the Owner a voicemail and he hasn’t returned my call. It’s been over a week. I’ve had to hire another fence company to provide a solution. The new company said this company did a terrible job, didn’t even nail the bottom of the fence and overcharged me $1,000.
