Excellent. They fit us in right away when another customer cancelled. The person diagnosed and fixedthe problem quickly. He also spent a good amount of time explaining what he did. Very professional and polite.

Everything went well. We have always been very impressed with the professionalism and work ethic of the employees at Authorized Heating & A/C.

During a regular maintenance inspection, the coil was found to be leaking. Gary found the problem. Ordered parts and he and Luis had it repaired the next day. We have always requested Gary to do our maintenance, we trust he's work ethic and professionalism. Luis was a great help and would request him if Gary was not available. The coil was under warranty, so only paid for leak test.

They have been excellent at what they do. They are very good and they care. I’m very pick, so when I recommend somebody I mean it. When I give somebody an “A,” I would happily recommend them to anybody I know. I’m going to do a contract with them next year. I’m working on a new house. We’re switching residences now. I’m going to use them there.

They're generally more expensive, but they show up fast.

No problems at all. Showed up on time, too 15min to repair and to check my unit. My only issue was the part they replaced cost $8.50 at HomeDepot. I understand the cost of business and house calls. But the service call cost $214 for an $8.50 part.

It has ended up saving me about 45% on my electrical bill. The old one is probably closer to forty years old. Their professionalism stood out for me. They worked on the basis of a hard estimate. There were no hidden charges that got added in. They came out when they said they were. They did exactly what they were supposed to do. They also showed me what had been pulled out and explained all the "gotcha's" that were there. They did a good, professional job of explaining their work. They got a permit. From the standpoint of a lot of providers, they went above and beyond of what would normally be expected. I am satisfied with the price. I would have liked to have gotten something cheaper.

They are professional and their prices are reasonable. They are prompt and they did a great job. From maintenance to equipment, they top the line. We have been using them for 15 years now and we love them.

I have been in the same house since 1975 and I have been using them for over 20 years. They are very efficient and punctual. They do an excellent job. If it isn’t broke then don’t fix it. I don’t shop around.

.These guys were available, and showed up when they said. Provided parts the same day, and put the system back together.

They showed up on time with plenty of help - told me they would complete the job that day, hauled away the old unit and cleaned up the work area under the house and outside the house.

Authorized Heating and Air came to the house at about 9:00 AM - not too late, not too early. Their demeanor was one of polite professionalism. The installers then proceeded to look over the job and plan a method of execution, which resulted in a change of plans, as the old furnace was located in a spot in which the new furnace wouldn't quite fit. The A/C, too, needed to be relocated. The entire installation required 1-1/2 days (against the expected 2 full days) and I was entirely pleased with the whole job. The installers, who were quite competent, were also pleasant to deal with. The only down side was that the price was higher than I would have expected. However, Authorized H & A was still the lowest bidder, so my expectations were probably out of line. I will do business with this firm again, and highly recommend them.

I had a great experience with this company. My HVAC system went down over labor day. A call to their service center resulted in a quick response. The maintenance person was courteous and explained everything well. I had hoped for a cheap repair, but after crawling under the house with him, he was able to show me the problems I had. The installation went perfectly. Again, everything was as promised. This is a good company. I have no problem recommending them.

I was not happy with the service nor the treatment from this company. I even called them to let them know I was not happy and the didn't call back for a day or two. I really feel taken advantage of and will not use them again.

THIS WORK WAS DONE ON OUR DAUGHTERS UNIT WHICH HAD BEEN INSTALLED JUST A YEAR BEFORE. IT ONLY WORKED HALF THE YEAR WHICH IS WHY WE SEARCHED FOR SOMEONE MORE RELIABLE TO CHECK IT OUT. HE FOUND SOME ISSUES WITH THE INITIAL INSTALL AND FIXED THOSE. THEN SHE ASKED HIM TO DISCONNECT THE HEAT PUMP UNIT FROM THE PROPANE UNIT BECAUSE SHE COULD AFFORD THE PROPANE AND WAS JUST GOING TO USE THE ONE UNIT. HE SAID HE COULD DO THAT AND SHE THOUGHT HE DID. BUT HE DID NOT. THE GAS PART IS STILL COMING ON EVEN THOUGH SHE NO LONGER HAS A PROPANE TANK. THIS IS CAUSING COLD AIR TO COME IN THROUGH THE VENTS. WE ORIGINALLY PAID 6,000.00 DOLLARS FOR THE UPGRADE AND BASICALLY SHE HAS A HEATING SYSTEM FUNCTION- ING BELOW GRADE. HER HOUSE IS ONLY 1200 SQ.FT.SO IT SHOULD NOT TAKE THAT MUCH TO HEAT IT. OUR DAUGHTER IS A SINGLE MOM WORKING LONG HOURS AND WHY ANYONE WOULD WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER OR ANYONE ELSE IN HER SITUATION IS JUST PLAIN WRONG. WE WOULD NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY OR RECOMMEND THEM. THEY GET A D RATING IN MY BOOK AND THATS STRETCHING IT.

Steve, the manager, came out to my house, when I was getting ready to buy two very expensive units, valued at about $16,000, as well as adding another vent. Steve spent an hour and a half answering every question that I had and discussing everything. It went as planned. They came when they said they were going to. The technician takes his time and goes upstairs, goes under the crawlspace, checks things out and even when I had the old system, we discussed the problems and anything that can be done with it or not.

DID EXACTLY AS HOPED WITHIN THE QUOTED PRICE IN A TIMELY FASHION. VERY COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL, EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP.

MATT WAS ON TIME AND EXPLAINED THE NEED FOR A CAPACITOR WHICH WAS WAS AN ADDITIONAL 127 ON TOP OF THE 199. THE 199 WAS THE QUOTED PRICE AND INCLUDES A RETURN VISIT IN APRIL OF 2013 TO SERVICE THE AC. AFTER MATT LEFT I NOTICED THAT HE MARKED ON THE RECEIPT THAT HE CHECKED THE AIR FILTERS AND THAT NEVER HAPPENED. THIS RAISES A CONCERN FOR FUTURE SERVICE FROM AUTHORIZED HEATING. MATT WAS POLITE AND RESPECTFUL; HE PUT PROTECTIVE BOOTIES OVER HIS SHOES SO AS NOT TO TRACK IN DIRT. OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. AS MENTIONED EARLIER MY CONCERN IS HE DID NOT CHECK THE FILTERS AS HE HAD INDICATED ON THE RECEIPT THAT HE DID. WHAT ELSE WAS CHECKED OFF AS BEING DONE AND WAS NOT????

First, I must say this review is based on two experiences I have had with this company. The reason I have to say this is because the grades would be much lower if it was based just on this experience. It seems only fair to do it this way. Air blower unit was vibrating and getting worse by the day. We called this provider and they came out promptly to look at the problem. Based on physical analysis they recommended a new blower unit. They called back to the home office for a quote and it came back at $950. Based on a prior service call in the summer, mentioned above, where Authorized refilled our freon they recommended not spending the $950 on the Air Blower replacement but to replace the entire HVAC system (Condenser, Furnace and Blower) to for about $6500. I thanked them and paid for the service call. A few days after this I climbed into the attic myself and removed the blower unit from the furnace. Before doing so, I a drew a wiring diagram of the existing connections and disconnected the blower, electronically, from the furnace. I then slid the blower out of the furnace. I removed the fan assembly (the part with the fins that is attached to the motor shaft that spins freely) from the blower. I could tell the fins had broken away from the base, the soldered joints had given way. This allowed the base to spin faster than the blades and also allowed the fins to wobble since they were no longer soldered to the base. I took the part number from the fan assembly, looked it up using Google and sourced a replacement fan assembly for $90. I received the replacement fan assembly, reassembled the blower unit and placed back into the furnace. I then followed my wiring diagram to electronically connect the blower back to the furnace. This is where things went very wrong. The diagram I took was after the technician was there. The connections were completely wrong. The input 120V was on some other lead on the control board. It could have fried my control board. In the end, I had to follow the diagram on the back of the furnace door to restore the proper connections. So, they wanted $950 for a completely new air blower unit which was fixed with a $90 part and two hour job; by yours truly. You could argue that the visit before put in their minds I needed a new system and that's why they upgraded my problem to a $6500 complete system replacement. However, after I called and informed them of the information above and tried to reconcile this visit's charge they told me the assessment was fair and that what I did was a 'Gerry-rig'. They are HVAC professionals. They told me to replace the blower unit in total without ever providing me with an option to replace the part the was causing the vibration specifically. I am using all the parts from the blower unit except for the replaced fan assembly. Why do I have to go and find this option out? After I found the option, which was pretty easy to do, I did not trust them to implement it so I did it myself. Does my overall system look good as new, of course not...its 11 years old. However, you don't replace an entire unit for $6500 based on vibration of a source-able sub-assembly and two freon charges in 11 years. I feel like they didn't have my best interest in mind. I would have have paid $300 for the work I did without even thinking about it. This could have ended well for both parties but now my air and heat work just fine without vibration; so it worked out for me. Not a good outcome. Will not call again.

My teenage daughter was home alone when she claimed lightning hit the house. Like many neighbors, we lost electricity, phone, and internet service. The electricity was quickly restored, but then I realized there was no air conditioning. I would have consulted Angie's List, but my internet service was still out, and I couldn't find my warranty or paperwork telling me who installed my Maytag air conditioner a few years ago. I called Auhorized Heating and Air as they had the only ad in the Yellow Pages that mentioned Maytag. They weren't cheap, and I said I could wait until Monday morning to avoid the surcharge of emergency service. He said he coudn't get to my house until at least 11:00 AM on Monday, but showed up promptly at five minutes to 11:00. The bad news was that he had to order an expensive part they didn't have in stock that lightning had destroyed. The good news was that the part was still convered under warranty, even though lightning, and not a product defect, caused the malfunction. I was afraid I would have to wait days before the part came in, but in came in sooner than I expected. Authorized Heating and Air have mastered the basic principle of excellent service: under-promise and over-deliver. He called and set up an appointment right away and once again was there even before I expected. Unfortunately two home vists added up to $300, which wasn't enough to even bother with my homeower's insurance, but at least the $500 part that the lightning had ruined was covered by warranty. Although I wish the price was a little lower, the repair was much more than crawling under the house to replace a blown fuse. Everything is relative, and I got far better service, and much less frustration fixing the air conditioning, than I did trying to get the cable company to fix my phone and internet service. Overall, Authorized Heating and Air I gave me excellent, prompt professional service.

We made contact with Authorized Heating and Air Conditioning at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, and received a return call from our technician within 10 minutes. Ron arrived exactly as he had indicated in his phone call, within thirty minutes, was courteously wearing surgical shoe covers when indoors, and clearly explained what had worn out in our air conditioners, showing us the parts as well as explaining their purpose in protecting the system overall. In less than an hour, by 4:15, both of our units were working perfectly, and Ron also gave us good advice for maintaining a well-functioning system. Overall, his was a highly professional and reassuring service, especially as the SC heat wave is upon us again.

Our upstairs unit stopped working on a Sunday evening. When we called, we were given the choice of getting someone out the next day for their regular rates, or pay a higher price for out of hours service and have someone there that evening. I appreciated the fact that we were told immediately it would be a higher rate for that Sunday evening. We opted for the next day. The appointment was set at a time of my choosing and Ron showed up on time. He put on shoe covers to go into the house to protect our carpet. He quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed the unit, and explained the bill, all within 45 minutes. I am extremely pleased with the company and the technician. I will definitely use Authorized Air again.

The air conditioning in our rental condo stopped on Saturday of Memorial weekend. Called Authorized and got a quick call back. Ron offered to come out Saturday night, be we opted for Sunday. He showed up, fixed the problem quickly and even changed the filter for our tenants, who are elderly. We've used Authorized in the past on tow other houses and these guys do a great job. Prices appear to reasonable, but more importantly, they get it done.
