It was excellent. It was great. They did that carbon monoxide detector for free. They were very good. They were right on time. They were very professional. We never asked for a carbon monoxide detector but it was nice of them of to give it to us and install it for us. They were professional. Pricing was right. They did good work. I would definitely recommend them. Pricing was average. I would absolutely use them in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for Aire Serv of Greenville. They just made sure it was ready for winter. They installed the carbon monoxide detector.

After work done, I found out this offer is wasting money. I got nothing fixed, but spent $89. The entire work took almost 3 hours. I don't know if the technician was having trouble of locating the problem of clicking noise, but it was wasting my time. At the end, I was told my unit is too old, I need a new unit. They will get me quoted a new unit. Obviously, the provider interested in replacing the unit than actually fixing it. I spent the money for nothing. Will never buy this kind of offer from this company.

Went well. Recommended replacing blower capacitor but wasn't pushy about it. Also found an aftermarket baffle causing limited airflow to one of our rooms, and removed it for us and taped the hole at no extra cost.
Description of Work: Needed furnace inspection and tune-up. Also needed to find out why one of our ducts had low air flow, and was prepared to pay extra for this part of the service if a repair was needed.

I called the number and talked to a nice man who said he would let the technician know of my issue. Keith, the technician, called me within 5 minutes of my original call. He knows everything about my unit and was able to ask questions to assure I couldn't fix it myself. He was at my house in one hour. He told us we didn't need a new unit and was able to fix our problem with parts in his truck. AMAZING! We would use him again if my poor old unit dies!

1) Install a 40 gallon water heater 2) Remove the old one 3) Add a platform to elevate the new water heater for draining purposes 4) Install an electrical disconnect (the previous one was outside) 5) Install a water disconnect 6) Add pipes so that both the pressure release valve and the drain at the bottom could drain outside. 7) Drill through the wall so those pipes would reach outside. 8) Make serious adjustments to the existing piping to accommodate the newly raised water heater. I think that pretty much covers it... The service professional was great. Very informative and friendly, worked efficiently, and kept us filled in on what he was doing. He left the area around the water heater cleaner than he found it. They diagnosed and replaced the water heater on the same day I requested the work. The dispatcher was kind and informative and the final price was very close to the original estimate she provided. I would definitely recommend their services. And the whole water heater area looks so much more organized and neat then it did before. The price is high compared to a standard water heater replacement, but like I said, we needed a lot of updates. Price includes the new unit and all supplies.
Description of Work: Old water heater needed to be replaced. Apparently it was way out of code, so to replace the water heater Aire Serv had to make several updates.

They were prompt and came on time. Their price was a little much. They didn't have the part that we needed in stock so they had to come back the next day to fix it. We had to call them again a week later when the house was getting hot again. It turned out that the freon was also gone. When the guy came out the first time, it wasn't working quite right. He said to take a little bit time to cool down so the freon basically leaked out. Their professionalism was good.

I called Aire Serv the day after I closed on my condo because the AC would not turn on. Within 2 hours of my call, someone came out (on a Saturday), to come fix the problem. The handler of my AC is on the roof, and this guy was prepared to go up there, no problem. He went up on the roof and found the problem within minutes. The whole appointment took about 45 min, and by the time he left there was already cool air in the condo. He was very professional, friendly, and timely and I couldn't be more appreciative given the situation.

Aire Serv found numerous mechanical problems with our unit and performed the necessary repairs. He even reconnected a vent tube in the crawl space that had become completely separated. It is an older unit and his work probably has extended it's life an additional few years. Yes, we ended up paying quite a bit more than $49, but that was not a surprise to us.

The service provider did an excellent job at installing our new unit. We used the Angie's List coupon, and it was a great experience for us. We did have a slight mix up on the original appointment for the verification that we could use the coupon. We had been advised they'd be there at 9. We called at 9:30, and they didn't save our appointment correctly. The sales person arrived at 11:00. I would double check the appointment time if we use them again just because we have to take off of work.

I called Aire Serve to provide an annual maintenance check up on my air conditioning unit. I spoke with office manager, Andrea and advised her that my unit was working great. I wanted only a seasonal checkup. I lived in Florida previously and learned it is best to have the a/c unit checked PRIOR to hot weather arriving for the summer. My unit is 7 years old. The FIRST technician, Lynn Burroughs arrived as scheduled, June 11; and IT APPEARED HE WAS performing the maintenance checkup. He advised me that the unit needed the capacitor replaced at the cost of approximately $75.00. I agreed to this charge, even though it had been replaced in January 2014. He told me to call him directly if there was any problems. I found this unusual, until I found my home was not cooling that evening. I called Lynn Burroughs - he said that he possibly forgot to turn the unit back ON. I followed his directions and turned it back on outside box beside the compressor. This did not resolve the issue. The bottom line is that I no longer had cool air blowing in my home after his first service call. He finally returned the next evening and said the unit was low on refrigerant. This was the first time I had experienced this issue. Again - he left and it stopped cooling a couple of hours later. I called again the following Monday morning and explained to the office manager, Andrea what I was experiencing. She sent a second technician to my home the following day. This technician, CC Nelson, advised me that I needed a new meter device at the cost of approximately $450.00. He said it would take a couple of days to get the part in and then return to my home to replace. After two more phone calls to AireServ, Two days later a THIRD technician, named Brian came to my home and started the entire process over again. He said the first two technicians MISDIAGNOSED the problem. Brian said I did NOT need the meter. He then added MORE refrigerant and said the issue was solved. He said he would return the following week to check the unit. Needless to say - the unit did NOT COOL for more than two hours and I was back to where I started with 85 -88 degree temperatures inside my home. Due to the extreme heat, I purchased one window a/c unit and the third week I had to purchase a second unit for my kitchen. Oh, I forgot to mention when Brian saw the window unit he said Aire Serv had "loaners", but they were currently all out. Thanks for telling me that Brian, as I sit in a heat filled home ! This is what I mean by poor customer service from Aire Serve. On Monday, June 22, (after enduring another hot weekend), I called Duke Energy for a suggested contractor on their list. I was given the name of Complete Comfort Solutions, George Childers, owner. I called and explained my dilemma directly to George. He was kind enough to come that afternoon and start trouble shooting the unit and I provided the THREE work orders from Aire Serv. George found the problem after a several hours of putting dye in the system and checking all aspects of the unit. If this had been done by any of the three technicians I would not have been roasting in my own home the past 20 days. The damaged part had to be ordered directly from Trane and it is being installed as I write this report. During the last two weeks George and his son helped me put the additional window unit in my home and made sure it was working before they left. All in all, this has brought me more stress than you can possibly imagine. I have four dogs, and they are panting unless sitting in the air rooms with window a/c. My electric bill was more than double for the three weeks that my fan ran continuously without cooling my home and George told me I was lucky the compressor didn't burn out. I provided AireServ with documentation showing the work that had to be done due to their misdiagnosis; and also the repair that had to be made due to their shoddy work on my a/c unit. Please keep in mind; my air conditioner was working great UNTIL AIRE SERV made the first service call and it went downhill from there. Please beware of this company - I am filing South Carolina Small Claims Court to recover the cost of repairs. Remember this name: Aire Serv of Louisville, Independently owned and operated franchise by Richard Ciresi.
Description of Work: Aire Serve owner Richard Ciresi, has not responded to my emails and phone calls for the four service calls to my home, for the repair of my air conditioning system, as a result of mis-diagnosing by three technicians, starting June 11, 2015. The office manager, Andrea, advised me that Mr. Ciresi would be reviewing my situation, on Friday, June 26, this is after three weeks of being without central air during 90 plus degree temperatures in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Air Serve's lack of professionalism and general lack of concern is a red flag waving to potential customers.

Response from Aire Serv of Greenville
Well, when you're right, you're right! We really made a mess of this one. It appears that the first technician, while performing the cleaning, may have caused the leak in the coil. It is almost impossible to know this for sure, but it certainly appears that way. From there the combination of the slow loss of refrigerant charge and a possible sticking expansion valve (a problem that has been industry wide this year) caused us to incorrectly diagnose your problem, twice. Both of these issues, of course were corrected when the new coil was installed by your new contractor. I do not offer this information as an excuse, only an explanation, as this is far from our standard level of service or protocol. All that said we will gladly refund all of the money you have spent with us, reimburse you for the window unit that you bought to offset the heat, and pay the charges of the new contractor. My apologies for the delays in service and response. Good people do make mistakes, and this is a classic example.

My apologies for your missed appointment. Our records indicate that you were scheduled for 06/18 at 7 PM, and our dispatch system failed to send the call to the technician after normal working hours. This was a period of extreme heat and we were over booked with calls so the missed call was not discovered until several days later. Most customers will call us if we are running late (not that they should have to) and would have helped in this situation as we could have ran the call later that evening. During periods of extreme heat we do get overwhelmed and no matter how many systems we employ, sometime mistakes are made.

We recently purchased a trailer during last Winter. Being our fist home purchase, we weren't sure of everything we needed to be on the lookout for. The heat pump did a good job of keeping the place warm. But the Summer months were soon on us, and we quickly realized that the AC unit was worthless. Skip ahead to some 98 degree weather. We had bought a window AC to try to keep cool, but of course, that only helped a small portion of our home. So, we began searching for the best deal in HVAC. A few people gave us quotes. Most of these numbers ranged anywhere from $7,000 to $12,000. We simply couldn't afford that. But while browsing Angie's List, I found Aire Serv offering a great deal. $2500 for a 3-ton unit. I called the company and asked them to come over and decide if the offer would fit our situation. The gentleman that cam over concluded that we needed a 3.5-ton unit, not a 3-ton unit. But, he'd try and get us a deal similar to the one we were inquiring about. Before we knew it, he got someone to authorize a 3.5-ton, 13 SEER unit, with new coil and refrigerant tubes for a price that wasn't too much more than the original deal. We were quite happy, as we wanted to stay out of debt, and this was something we could handle without a loan. It was going to take a week to get the parts in, so the company sent over a couple of portable air conditioners to loan us until the date of install. Skipping ahead a few days to the day of installation, Keith and Gill came by the house nice and early. But they quickly realized that the original quote was not for a heat pump, but just an AC. Keith thought that this was bad for my wife and I, and so he made a few calls. Again, this company nearly blew me out of the water with their business. They offered to get me an AC/Heat Pump, new coil, new refrigerant tubes, new wiring, new thermostat, all for the same price I was originally quoted! Seven hours later, they finished up. I found myself with a new system that works perfectly. The new unit is even a 14 SEER as opposed to the 13 SEER I was originally going to get. Keith and Gill were both wonderful professionals. They were as courteous and friendly as you can get. They even spruced up the area around the AC outside with some black mulch. If I ever need AC work again, you can bet I'm going to call on Aire Serv!
Description of Work: After removing an old, broken system, they installed a new 3.5 ton Heat Pump, a new coil, a new pad for the heat pump, a new Pro 5000 Thermostat, a new line set, and a new drain line. Finally, they spread some black mulch around the new outside unit to make it look very nice.

We hired this company (Hendersonville Office) in March 2010. We had them install a brand-new AC unit complete with the inside and outside components. Since the onset, this unit did not work properly. I have a stack of repair tags to prove it. We finally gave up on trying to get Aire Serv to fix the problem and called two other companies on separate occasions. Each company found a major problem with the installation. Our electric bills were exorbitant and we were told it was because the inside unit could not communicate to the outside unit because of an improper installation and missing parts. One unit was calling for cooling which caused the unit to run and run, but the other unit did not get the message thus resulting in exorbitant electric bills and lack of cool air. The Heat pump did not work correctly either. When we contacted Mark at Air Serv, not only was he difficult to get to return phone calls, he refused to fix the problem. After another $1000+ spent trying to repair it, we were able to get a new company to contact the manufacturer of the unit on our behalf. According to the manufacturer, Aire Serv never notified them of the problems with the AC unit so The manufacturer had no record of our ongoing issues! I was shocked by this because we were told by Aire Serv they had been in contact with the manufacturer. The new company had to fight to get our warranty covered - thank goodness I had kept all the repair tickets from the various AC companies. In conclusion, Aire Serve did not install the System properly to begin with, was unable to fix it over the course of a couple years and multiple service calls, refused to reimburse us for other repair bills that were a direct result of their incompetence, and failed to communicate the ongoing issues with the manufacture of the unit. They earned their rating of an F and that there was a lower rating, I would give them that! Thanks to the new company, after 5 years we finally have a properly functioning HVAC!

We assumed the operations of the Greenville office in October of 2014 under new ownership and leadership. I apologize for your experience as it in no way reflects our level of service or our Code of Values. If you will share with us the additional costs you have incurred, we will attempt to make this right. The records from the previous operator indicate that you were only charged for maintenance beyond the original install. If there were other charges please share with us.

Aire Serv found a part that needed to be replaced in our AC. Other than that, all was good. We signed up for their Advantage Plan and it ended up costing 50 percent less because we are Angie's List members. Also because we are members, the replacement part was 50 percent off. Lynn the serviceman was so personable and a pleasure to do business with. We had a very good experience and do highly recommend.
