William was very polite and professional. His shop was neat, clean, and organized. I could tell that he had several projects he was working on but he was able to replace my cushions in just a few days. He took the time to explain his recommendations for the size and density of the foam and the need to replace the batting for a more comfortable seat. I could not be more pleased with the outcome, it made all the difference in the world, it feels like a brand new sofa.

I repainted the bamboo and William picked up the set. I picked out the fabric and William returned my set to me today. It is absolutely beautiful...in fact, I think it's better than when it was new. This is the 3rd time using Williams Custom Upholstery and each time I am truly delighted with his work! He does an excellent job!

New to this state, I hired a Charleston, SC, upholstery business, which was recommended by a No Charleston business man (friends of that said business man). That hiring was a five-months-long nightmare!!! I was stiffed by a savvy unethical Charleston business person and now completely jaded by the experience. I went on Angie's List, and although I decided to contact other upholsterers in the area getting their price quotes and trying as best I could to intuit their business acumen, I now decided to rely solely on Angie's List recommendation posting for William's Custom Upholstery. I went to William's Custom Upholstery in person; he came to my house immediately and looked at my furniture, gave an estimate and then came back and picked up my furniture telling me all of my pieces would be completed in 4 weeks with an exact end date given to me -- and he abided by it! I did not share the name of the first upholster with William nor did he ask, which I thought was commendable, rather told him I was very very leery of business ethics in the area now ( upholstery businesses especially) due to the goings-on from this first upholsters unethical transaction (out $450 in money, lost fabric and had to purchase 20 yards more fabric, never returned two of my antique walnut cabriole legs to which William had to have made at a pricy cost for me, besides the time and angst, etc., from that transaction). William assured me he would do an excellent upholstery job on my pieces of furniture (antique pieces that I have saved for upholstery over 20 years) without a pre-payment only because I was stiffed by the first Charleston upholstery business owner (that businessman asked 50% down as pre-payment -- unfortunately I trusted him, paid him 50% down, and in return got burned! Lesson learned -- never do a transaction that way!!). William and his wife, Pricilla, and their work staff, were professional, to the point, courteous, reliable, and EXCELLENT in upholstering! My fabrics had a pattern and some a large print in it and the match of its pattern was perfectly sewn for each of the pieces completed. I was very impressed. Completely opposite of what I experienced from the unethical Charleston upholstery business man/owner -- I won't even go there in describing what the one piece they did complete looked like!!! Expect to pay a good amount of money for your upholstery work through William's Custom Upholstery; however, know that the cost to you will also deliver to you a highly well-done upholstered piece of furniture. William's Custom Upholstery receives an EXCELLENCE RATING from this client who was bamboozled by the type of businessman one will never want to encounter. We will refer William's expertise and professional workmanship to other new (as well those already residents of) home owners in the Charleston area of SC who would inquire about upholstery service, besides the Angie's List communication link. I brought one of my treasured pieces of furniture into William's Upholstery - my upholstered kitchen chair. The chair is unique with 3 rolls of tutfed padding on the back and a 3and quot; padded seat - more like living room furniture than a normal kitchen chair. Not only was William's price a little lower than other quotes, he ordered less material than the other quotes (more $$ $avings as I wasn't charged for the extra material). William and his wife had piles of upholstery samples to choose from but was able to steer me into the best material suited for the chairs which made my selection process not so overwhelming. He picked up the rest of my chairs on Monday and to my surprise, delivered all 4 chairs on Friday evening. He even replaced the rollers on the chairs making them feel and roll like the day I bought them 15 years ago! I would recommend William's Upholstery to anyone who is thinking about reupholstering their furniture! I will definitely use him again!

They came to the house to give the estimate on time. Took the furniture and returned it as scheduled. They gave suggestions on matching fabrics and look so it would fit the room. They knew how thick the replacement seat should be to be the comfortable sitting chair with the footstool. These were pieces I inherited from my parents so they mean a lot to me. I just wish Mom and Dad could see their chairs now! We were going to get rid of Dad's chair since the fabric and stuffing were worn out. I decided to keep it since it was the chair he always sat in when I was growing up. It looks like new except the style is the old Mission style chairs. I would definately use them again.
