I had my nearly week-old appointment cancelled last minute by Carolina Appliance Repair. They wanted to reschedule for 8 days later than original appt. Spoke with owner who was rude and laughed at my situation and said my only option is to call Whirlpool to reschedule with someone else. When I told him that was unacceptable, he said "guess what, we won't be coming out at all now". Company has an F rating on BBB website.

Poor customer service. Rude!!! Waited 6 weeks for my part to come in after our first appointment. They didn't not make sure the appliance was working before they left. They broke the clips that hold my dish washer to my countertop and chipped my countertop that it was connected to. The day of the scheduled appointment they called and canceled. I was frustrated that I took off work for nothing. Then he tells me he can't reschedule me right now. When I told him I was irritated that I had to take off work he precedes to tell he will no longer deal with my service and he will send my claim back to whirlpool. Worst customer service.

First of all I'll start by stating Whirlpool received my call and proceeded to set me up with this company..first mistake...for a repair date which was scheduled..second mistake no repairman showed up nor called for a makeup date..nothing...by mid afternoon I began calling the company which resulted in calls going to straight to VM...no return call..and so I'm done... Read the reviews..this company sucks...

Called Maytag, they assigned Carolina Appliance Repair to come out to diagnose the problem, what a HUGE mistake this was. I wish I had read the reviews first, but I was treated with the 1 STAR service just like the rest of the the customers above. They rescheduled 2 times, they mis diagnosed the problem with the washing machine, then the owner Scott called and decided that since they had no clue what was really wrong with the washing machine (not just a guess), they were not going to work with us anymore and left, his reasoning for this was because he didn 't think they could "please me" so they were just going to quit working with us. IF they actually knew how to do their job, and did it, they wouldn't have to worry about bad reviews smf the results would speak for themselves. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMANY, YOU WILL ONLY BE DISSAPOINTED.

Absolutely horrible. Dishwasher quit working one day so I contacted Whirlpool. They said that in order to get it fixed, a service provider was required to visit to verify the part that we knew was broken. Carolina Appliance Repair came out, spent all of 3 minutes at the house after verifying what we already knew what was broken, we paid the $95 and was told we would be contacted within 1-3 business days for price on parts and labor was a flat rate. 2 months later, they finally answer the phone and they realized they messed up. I was told I would get a refund if it turned out they didn’t contact me… 2 MORE weeks go by, I reach out to ask them what the deal was and they make it seem like it’s my fault!! Absolutely horrible service and I should have read the reviews before Whirlpool lined up a call with them. Never never again. A bunch of lying crooks

We have a warranty company that referred them to us. Matt came out, and said he thought he fixed it. (It was not). Called back and they referred us back to warranty company. They came out a 2nd time, and replaced the part (still not working). 9 calls later, (refer back to warranty company each time then they call and don’t call when they say they will) still no fix. I feel like they were milking the warranty company. The owner called us and told us we needed to “schedule another appointment for the tech to come take a picture of the part” I was done. (Why didn’t you have the part number for the part you replaced?). At that point the owner was very rude. I suspect this company has dishonest practices, but I know they have very poor customer service and are very unprofessional.

Response from Carolina Appliance Repair
Ok so let's start from the beginning your samsung icemaker was not cycling. We came out found the icemaker would cycle if you hit the rest button. On samsung refrigerator this usually caused by a bad icemaker . Which we replaced . We at this time also informed you that it could need the control board. You called us back and yes your extended warranty company has a policy that the call has to go back thru them. When we went to schedule, you canceled with us and had another company out who you said the icemaker we just installed was defective. Well I knew this was not the case but we ordered another icemaker and came and out installed it. We never once looked at your board to get the part number off it. So when you called back again and said it wasn't working we informed you that we needed to get the part number off of the board on the back of the unit. You said you didn't understand that and I explained it to you again. I then at that point decided since the other company that had come out told you the icemaker was defective told you that could have that company out to service it. We called your extended warranty company explained to them how you were on the phone and that we did wanna service you anymore and that we gave you a 1 star review. Hope your dealings with bussiness gets better. But have a blessed day

We had a warranty repair for a Kitchen Aid refrigerator. After speaking with Kitchen Aid support they scheduled Carolina Appliance Repair (843)324-6957. This company missed their first appointment due to their technician being out sick. The next appointment was a few days later and the technician came, needed to order parts, was supposed be 2-3 days. After this time passed we called and left several messages for Carolina Appliance Repair and received no phone call back. After a third call we were told the parts were in and the technician could come out the next day. We were again supposed to receive a phone call with the timeframe, this never happened. I called them to get the window, gave my name and address, they said the technician would be coming between 9-2. I requested they call before coming as I had someone waiting at the house and wanted to give them a heads up. Around 1:30 I received a phone call from the Carolina Appliance Repair office, they were calling to setup a time to replace my parts for two days from now! Keep in mind I spoke to this lady no more than four hours prior when she gave me the 9-2 window. So now I’m not only not getting my refrigerator fixed but it’s going to be two more days, 17 days from my call to Kitchen Aid. No apology was offered, they didn’t care one bit. These people are not only unresponsive and don’t return calls but they are flat out incompetent and careless. Avoid this business, there are so many friendly and customer focused businesses in the Charleston area, Carolina Appliance Repair is not one. If anyone would like more details please reach out, we keep detailed records. I am so disgusted by this business that I’d rather call Kitchen Aid to get a new vendor, this will result in us being without a refrigerator for longer but at least my business won’t go to Carolina Appliance Repair. Check BBB, Angie’s List and Google for other reviews they’ll clearly show to stay clear of this place! These aren’t isolated instances.

Shady people, zero customer service skills. I was patient when they called to reschedule a repair Monday. Said ok for Thursday and asked for a heads up so that I know they are coming. Received no heads up and almost missed the door due to sick kids. Scott repeatedly told me $65 for the call, $65 for the call. I told him I would pay but that the appliance was under warranty until 2018. Instead of pausing to listen to me and resolve, he kept repeating the amount. He then said, “If you can find the information before I am done, fine, otherwise it is $65,” very rudely. I told him I was not dealing with that behavior. He stood up, said, “Have a great day, ma’am,” and stormed out of my house. When I called the “company” to find out the name of the tech to file a complaint, Stephanie answered. I told her her tech behaved like a jerk, and she said “That is Scott, the owner, and he’s my husband,” and became extremely agitated and defensive. I offered to describe the incident, and she cut me off repeatedly demanding to “tell her side first.” I stopped talking while she explained all the ways none of this was their fault — they just go with what the Whirlpool gives them and that’s that. No one ever politely offered to double check the warranty status (I called Whirpool and confirmed it’s in warranty until July 2018 and set up repair with another company) to resolve the issue and get the work done. No thought or energy put towards fixing the issue, which would have resulted in an in-warranty repair and that precious money they wanted. When I asked the angry co-owner on the phone if I could speak, she said, “NO! I don’t care what you think because you just called to threaten me! If you want to go all over Facebook and write reviews, go ahead!” I had mentioned writing a negative review but do not use Facebook and haven’t used it for a decade. I realized the reason she assumed I would was because a crappy Facebook page is this company’s sole presence on the web. I reported the company to Whirlpool, who is sending their regional manager to investigate. This business is a farce. After screaming at me to go ahead to Facebook, Stephanie hung up on me, without affording me a single full sentence. Give them your business if you dare - be ready to wait a long time and have your $65 ready, or else! $65! $65! Grow some listening skills, people. You lost money and business by being defensive and rude. You do not possess a fraction of the skills necessary to run a business successfully, especially not around Charleston where most people are actually friendly.

Scheduled an appointment for 8/17/17. Said the service would be done between 9AM and 2PM. Had to call their office and then they told me the service guy was sick. Rescheduled for Friday 8/18/17 between 9AM and 2PM. Called their office again and Teresa said the service guy was still sick but the owner Scott would be providing service on Saturday between 9AM and 2PM and I was on for that day. Scott called just before 2PM and told me there wasn't anything he could do now. He could charge me a service call for $65 but did not want to take my money. That was nice of him. A continuity check on the thermostat would prove nothing. Asked me if I was a handy man. I said sure. He said replace the Defrost Control Board and if that doesn't do it he would fix the refrigerator at no charge. I replaced the Defrost Control Board at a cost of $150 but that was not the fix. So I called Teresa on Friday, 8/25/17 and asked for an appointment. Teresa gave me a spot for Monday, 8/28/17 between 9AM and 2PM. No one showed up. When I called Teresa back she said the service guy wasn't doing service calls in Mt. Pleasant today. Called back and asked Teresa for Scott's cell phone number. She said she could not give it to me but that she would leave a message for me to tell Scott I wanted my $`150 back on the part he said to replace. Haven't heard from anyone yet and don't expect to. Obviously I never will. I wanted the refrigerator fixed so that I could give it to Habitat for Humanity since I am getting a new one. And top it all off Whirlpool gave me this company to do the repair.
Description of Work: Refrigerator repair. Temperature in fridge was either too warm or too cold. Temperature in freezer was too warm. A simple thermostat replacement and I am not even a technician that does this work.
