Like Heather, these guys claimed they pumped my septic. There is no way because they didn't know nor take the time to find the septic. A good friend of mind, that is a plumber, found the accesses and we dug them up ourselves after they said they pumped it. Called owner and of course worker lied, describing the accesses after he saw them on their second trip, claiming they pumped it from one. I don't blame the owner, just his two workers.

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! My disabled mother and I live alone. My septic tank needed pumping so they came, charged me and left. Well one week later I had a mess in my backyard with sewage bubbling up from where the access panel is where they "supposedly" pumped it. Mind you I had NO sewage leaking till I called this sorry company. Upon calling they told me I would need a new drain line and that would cost upwards of $1600 or more. Mind you I was told this "without" them even coming and looking. Also mind you it was bubbling up out of the ground right at the baffle and access panel they dug up to "pump" out my tank. Thank goodness I am in the profession I am and know exactly what to do to keep the mess from backing up into my house; so I opened up the clean out. I called again wanting to know how I have this mess now and there were no problems till they came. I was told again it was the drain line. I did tell the man on the phone I was going to get a second opinion and if I got a different answer I was taking him to court. Fast forward and CE Taylor and Sons came out. SUPER PROFESSIONAL! Guess what!!!!! Lucas did not clean out my septic..........it was still full (which is why I now had sewer in my yard). So they took my money and never pumped out my tank. 1000 gals were pumped out by the other company. No problems and no drain line needing to be replaced.

The crew showed up right on time as promised. Not only did they perform the work for the price quoted over the phone (the job was more trouble than a normal cleaning due to my dual tank system), but went above and beyond when asked about another issue. I showed them the problem I was having with my drain field and they took the time to show me the problem and how to fix it myself, or to call them back and they would come back out and do it for me at another scheduled time. Great company to work with.

I called on January 8, and talked to the woman on the phone at length about getting a septic tank pumped a drain field put in. I?d had the same tank pumped out over the summer, and it was full again and leaking. We scheduled someone to come out Monday morning. So Monday morning comes and goes, and about 11:30 am, I call and ask why I hadn?t seen or heard from anyone. Got same lady, but had to go through it all again as if it had never happened. She assured me someone would call to let me know when to expect someone. At nearly 1pm, I called back, having still not heard from anyone, and get told yet again that the guy will call me with an ETA. He never called, but he did come rolling in at around 3:30. Needless to say, I was more than a little concerned, because there was no way he going to start on putting in a drain line at 3:30. So I asked him about what he thought about the drainage problem, and he pretty much blew me off, saying he?d know more after he pumped it out. Which is pretty much plumber speak for ?I?m not messing with it, and I can probably BS my way out of having to talk to you.? After he pumps out the tank, he?s gearing up to go. So I actually had to chase him down and hang into the passenger side of his truck to get him to talk to me about the drainline he didn?t even begin to touch during the course of all this. So he gives me a very dismissive, ?Well, we?ll have to pump it out again before we do that, because it will have to be empty.? How interesting that now I?m going to have to pay another 275 bucks to have my tank pumped out again. Which would not be a necessity if this service call had been handled properly from the start. So I asked him how much, in addition to the almost 300 dollars for having the tank pumped...AGAIN...and he tells me 1500 dollars, but he?d do it himself as a ?moonlighting? job for 1200. He?d call me ?tomorrow? and set it up. So he called several days later and tried to set up his ?moonlighting? job. I told him we wouldn?t be doing that, and he hung up. There?s no way this dishonest person will be setting foot on my property again. FOLLOW UP: ?Bodie? called me. Not interested in resolving the problem, but extremely interested in placing the blame for all this squarely on my shoulders. Also, he had no idea who had come out to my house to pump out the tank. It?s clear now that they don?t really keep records of anything at Lucas. He wanted to explain to me that a drain line can?t be put in unless someone came out and gave me a quote, that the job takes entirely different equipment, etc. Therefore, because none of that got scheduled, it was my fault the job didn?t get done. Considering that I told them from the start that I needed a drain line put in, I?m not sure what I could have done to expedite that, other than drive to their office, shove their receptionist out of the way, schedule it myself, and then drive their crew back to my place in my van. I explained to Bodie that I don?t know how their office procedure works, but I did explain what I needed, and that this failure to proceed was not on me, it was on them. He didn?t understand or agree with that. My recommendation is if you need septic work, keep looking.

You should be very careful about the utilities and any other plumbing lines as well as the underground features that might be in the area. They didn't take the best of care. They broke some water lines and they tore up the liner in the little fountain in the area. The price was high. They were very professional. We didn't find out until two months later that we had issues with the other lines like the water lines and the liners.
Description of Work: We had a failure with our septic system so they came out to do the maintenance on it.

Description of Work: I must agree with some of the other negative reviews on here about Lucas Septic Tank & Utility. Over-promise & Under-deliver... that's what they do. Unprofessional language & questionable smoking habits of their crew while on-the-job was offensive. They were reckless with their heavy machinery, and showed little regard for the environment. They leave behind an ugly mess which may take years to restore. Only one of the men was different from the others and showed any real courtesy by offering an apology for the conduct of the other guys. Lucas Septic Tank & Utility desperately needs to improve its professional image... and they would do well to start with a crew make-over.

Truly excellent one stop service. We went through several potential service providers who either couldn't figure out all the components to making the job be successfully completed, had to sub out various components to alternative providers, and / or were ridiculously expensive. We were also unable to find anyone else who could recommend the proper pump or who could effectively navigate the process with the county and the town. They were also able to utilize one of my tanks in the ground and saved me $2000, an unexpected surprise. This team provided truly excellent service and I would use them again anytime anywhere.
Description of Work: Installed a new grinder pump, reinforced the existing 1000 gallon tank, collapsed the existing 500 gallon tank, and tapped into town sewer at the road.

My experience overall went very well. They did the best they could, but were not able to fix the problem. The staff was friendly and professional. However, we are still looking to find a company remedy the issue.

Lucas septic tank came out and dug up the ares where we needed the extra piping. While digging we noticed other piping not relevant to the septic tank piping that had broken. We weren't sure what it was from but the fact that they told us about it put us at ease. We will use Lucas septic tank for all of our septic tank needs.
Description of Work: Installed 100 ft of pipe.

Lucas Septic Tank Company came out ot pump one of our septic tanks on Friday, Nov. 11, 2001. They located the tank but stated that it was too deep to dig out by hand and that they would return Monday morning at 9AM with a back hoe (additional charge) to dig it out so they could pump the tank. They were very late getting to the house on Monday. They didn't show up so we called at 9:40AM to see when they were. We were told that they were "on the way, already on the road." They are located about 25 minutes from our house. All rural roads between both places. They arrived an hour later with only the back hoe. They dug out the tank and then waited several hours for the pumper truck to arrive. They asked for it several times. It should have come with the back hoe. When it arrived, they pumped out the tank and refilled the hole, smoothed the gound and left it looking as good as could be expected. They checked the plumbing to be sure everything flushed properly and that the drains were flowing smoothly before they refilled the hole. The men were courteous and seemed to do a good job, but it took all day to do what they described as a one hour job, which is about all of the total "work time" it took to do our job. As it went, we were tied up almost all day waiting for them to arrive, do the job and finish up.
Description of Work: Excavated one septic tank and pumped it out. Refilled the hole and leveled the gound.
