I cannot give this company enough compliments-friendly, punctual, professional and there work is wonderful. Would absolutely use them again.

They were awesome. They were probably one of the best contractors that we have ever used. If they promised something like they would be here and they would be here on time. All the time we had the supervisor there with them and pretty much all day long. If he wasn’t here then he came here either evening or the next morning to make sure everything was done completely and correctly. We just had a really good experience with them.

His name is George Crump. We haven't used him yet. We are going to be spending about $30000. They have been very understanding and patient because I am very particular about the design. They have really taken great care to work with me on that. We haven't started the construction process. Every step that we have taken so far from discussing budget, picking out materials, implementation and schedule has been right on target. They have even said that if there is ever a point even up to the project where we have to back out, they understand that and that they won't hold us to it. Most companies especially when we are talking about $30000 would never do that. Two of my neighbors have used them.

The crew was on time each day and the job was finished withing the agreed upon timeframe.

George and his crew are the best! Very detailed, went to the stone yard with us, helped in final selection. Crew was first class. Started and completed on time. Would use again.

What a pleasure to work with The Stoneman from start to finish. We decided to go with The Stoneman after getting 3 bids and talking in great detail to each of the potential contractors. To be honest, we thought that The Stoneman would be the highest quote (due to the quality of their work), but we were pleasantly surprised to find that their pricing was very competitive with other bids. We immediately liked George Crump---he listened to us, gave us options, and then provided a detailed pricing list. After we selected The Stoneman to do our job, they set us up for a time and were very prompt in meeting that schedule. They even rearranged the timing for us due to our being out of town for a few days unexpectedly. The crew was very knowledgeable and responsive to us. Their work is absolutely top-notch in every respect. After everything was completed, they cleaned up the front yard exceptionally well. Finally, the price that George gave us was right on the money. We decided to upgrade our stone a bit after viewing samples with George, so the price differential was due to our choice. The work was completed ahead of schedule. Ever since the work has been finished, we have gotten alot of compliments on how good our house looks and are even considering adding a bit more stonework to another part of our hard stucco home since we liked the outcome so well. I would highly recommend The Stoneman if you are looking for exceptional work at a competitive price. That combination is hard to find, but it does exist.

The job went very well and the end product isexcellent. Everyone who comes to the house comments on how good the walkways look, especially compared to the broken-up imitation-brick-stamped concrete they replaced. We saw The Stone Man's booth at a Home Show, and asked them, along with 2 others, to submit quotations for the project. One turned out to have bad Angie's reviews, the second recommended some things as necessary that we didn't want. George worked with us on the details, walked us through the display installation at the stone manufacturer, and scheduled the work in about 2 weeks. His price was competitive with the second company and we just felt comfortable that he knows his craft. The crew showed up on Monday, worked a couple of hours and had to quit because of rain. Same on Tuesday. The weather cleared on Wednesday and they worked steadily for long days on Wednesday and Thursday, and did the finishing touches on Friday. They offered us any of the excess materials we wanted and thoroughly cleaned up and removed the rest, leaving the area better than it was before they started. PS: Jackhammering and removng the old concrete walks may seem like good exercise, but it's harder work than we expected. The upside is that the 25 pickup loads of old concrete are now riprap on our seawall.

From the first hand shake until the final walk thru we extremely impressed. George, Randy and their crew treated our project with ultimate respect. They cared that we recieve a patio that we were happy with. Every converstaion that we had...they listened and were responsive. Our expectations were far exceeded. I truly believe George has very high character. He has been one of the best we have ever worked with. If you have a project...Be careful and believe me The Stone Man Rocks"!!!

Our experience with George and Clive was outstanding. We had a stone patio & grill installed by another company a few years ago, and it needed to be redone. George and Clive were able to reuse the patio stone to build the new grill area, saving us some money (in fact it was their idea to reuse the stone) and installed the grill and sink we purchased. They leveled the patio area and corrected the previous drainage problems. We have been very, very happy with the result - they were prompt, professional, and finished in a reasonable amount of time. I recommend their work to anyone looking for hardscaping.

We are very happy with the work George and Clive did for us. We got a number of estimates up front and were really impressed by the way George was able to visualize the finished product for us. George is the sales person with an engineering background and it was great to work with him to finalize our design. He was also able to work with us to make sure our project fit into our budget. We were scheduled to start the second week in November but were anxious to get on their calendar earlier. As you can imagine we were thrilled when they were able to start a week early. Throughout the process, Clive - who is very creative, made recommendations on how to improve the look and feel of our retaining wall and patio area. We took all his recommendations and clearly they made a big difference in the overall project. After the work was completed we love the finished product. The only concern I had was how steep the dropoff was at the back of the patio area, however this is due to the slope of our yard and has nothing to do with George and Clive's workmanship. We will be planting trees there anyway. This was Phase I of a multi-phase project to make our bakyard nicer and more usable and we will definitely reach out to The Stone Man again when we start Phase II.

He completed the project in about half a day and I love the finished wall. In fact, it was so successful another neighbor added a rock feature to her front yard. I plan to have him do other jobs for me. I don't know how to judge the price because I did not take estimates. The Stone Man was recommended to me by a landscape designer I have a lot of confidence in, so I did not talk with other contractors. However, the price that I paid for the work seemed reasonable to me and I definitely feel that the finished project was of high quality and worth what I paid. George is Scottish and learned about working with rocks in Scotland. One of the fun things about the project is that he built it wearing his kilt, which bought a smile to people passing by. Since I live in an inner city neighborhood I have a lot of people passing by and received a lot of comments about how much they like the wall and what fun to see George working in his kilt.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience! In the past, I have been disappointed with contractors who don't clean up during the job. The Stone Men were very courteous and did not leave a mess when they left for the day. I made the right decision in choosing them for my project!

The planning process was pretty flawless and brilliant. George came to our home several times over several months and worked with us to come up with a plan that we loved based on our wants, needs and budget. He has an awesome computer program that shows very transparently the costs of materials and labor. We didn't feel pressured or cheated in any way. He was very patient with us. He met us for paver selection and walked us through the pros and cons of each one. Plus we also got to know a little bit about George and his passion for stone work. We were very excited when we were finally able to start the project. Unfortunately there is a disconnect between the planning process and the actual execution and communication. We were not notified in anyway when the materials were going to be delivered to our home and were therefore unprepared for them. The crushed rock was literally dumped almost in the middle of my driveway making it almost impossible for me to get in my garage. I called George and he was more than apologetic and actually came and moved the rock that they had dumped on my lawn. When the day arrived for the crew to start, I got a call from Clive, who I had never even heard of before, to let me know that he would be in charge of my project and to call him with any issues. I like Clive very much, but it would have been nice for George to let us know that someone else would be taking over our project. I had, mistakenly, gotten the impression that George would be handling it. They marked the patio on the side of my house incorrectly. There were no worried though because Clive came out to remedy that and they even put the sod back in that they dug up incorrectly. The really disappointment was the seating wall on the back patio. The crew literally slapped it together in an afternoon and when I went to look at it that evening it looked hastily and poorly done. Needless to say I was pretty upset but Clive came out the next morning and had the crew take the stone off of the wall and do it properly. Overall I am very pleased with the work. Honestly, I'm not sure if I would use them again. We are thinking about having a stone fireplace installed but I can't say whether I would call them. I loved George's enthusiasm and ideas, but unfortunately his professionalism didn't quite come through in the execution. I think that that might have been solved had we actually met with Clive at some point before our project started. It seems as if there was a large lack of communication between George and Clive and that is where 95% of the issues came from. I am extremely please with the work and the value, but the communication could stand some improvement.

The work was of excellent quality from beginning to end. We appreciate the quote and early consultations from Clive and George. Our project was small by their standards, but I was interested in their knowledge and quality and concerned about drainage under the patio and around my house. Clive even offered free consultation and encouraged me to tackle it. They listened to my concerns and have a passion and extensive knowledge for what they do. The design met our goals and expectations, and recycled materials that would have otherwise needed to be hauled out of the area. The patio looks good 13 months later and continues to drain well. They even stopped by one year later to see how it looked and how happy we were. Excellent experience!

George is extremely responsive and professional. I was very pleased with his presentation and I was confident he would deliver exactly what I wanted. He has an automated update for his schedule via email. This is where I started to get concerned. First he said he would start the last week in April. Then it was pushed out another 2 weeks, then it was pushed out another week, and that is when I told him it had to be completed by May 21st because we were having sod installed and it was getting late to have it be sucessful. He said they would start on May 17th or 18th, and then he said they had started on Thursday May 20th, but all they did was spray paint. At this point I was very upset because he was supposed to be FINISHED by Friday May 21st. Needless to say they didn't finish until the following Tuesday. It was a disaster because they were here at the same time they were installing the sod. Their work was EXCELLENT, and I am very pleased with what they have done, but their commitment to living up to their scheduling was way off.

Called and left message for someone to come out and give a quote on landscaping. I was called back 2 days later and a female said she would pass my information along and have someone call me to schedule a consultation. Two weeks later and no one has called.

I DESCRIBED WHAT I HAD IN MIND AND HE SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED, CHOSE THE TYPE OF STONE I WANTED, AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY, PROMPT, AND OFFERED A NICE POWERPOINT CD OF HIS CREDENTIALS, BACKGROUND,AND PHOTOS OF HIS PREVIOUS WORK FOR US TO LOOK AT IN MAKING OUR DECISION. WE ARE VERY SATISFIED AND WOULD DEFINITELY CHOOSE HIM TO DO WORK IN THE FUTURE.

HE IS AN EXCELLENT CRAFTSMAN. THIS SIDEWALK HAS GREATLY ENHANCED MY FRONT YARD.
