After they were done with the driveway, we noticed that the pitch of the driveway was towards the house and when we placed a hose at the very top of the driveway and also when it rained later in the day, we noticed that the water was running towards the house. We immediately called John Smith Sr., who was very rude but agreed reluctantly to send one of his sons later that day to take a look at the problem. His son was cordial and after acknowledging the problem, agreed to add a lip (for lack of a better term) along the side of the driveway to remedy the problem. He said they would come back the following week and that he would give us a call prior to coming. We never heard from them the following week, so the following Monday, we called him and he said for sure the'd come the week after. Again, they did not call us, so this time we called John Smith, Jr., who is the sales guy. He also was very rude and said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the pitch of the driveway, and that his brother was wrong to tell us otherwise. He said that the only way they would come back to add a lip would be for a charge of $200.00. In conclusion, they did a very poor job,did not honor their warranty, were rude and unprofessional, were deceitful and did not live up to their promises.

Overall we are very satisfied with the service.
Description of Work: I had wanted to install a chip and tar boat ramp. It was difficult to find places that do chip and tar since most want to use blacktop or concrete. We found SMI and had them come out for an estimate. The estimator gave us options on stone and showed us a picture of the type we wanted. They came out and did the job when promised and cleaned up afterwards. The price was as estimated and they even left extra stones as we requested. They also offered to come back out if any bare spots appeared...so far we have none.
