Edgewater Pools was the best decision we could have made. We've heard so many horror stories about hidden costs, construction delays, poor construction, etc., so walking into this project we were very aware of challenges others have experience in the pool construction and were expecting the worst. What an amazing experience - there were NO surprises! The initial price quoted was the final cost. They excelled at communicating what had been accomplished and what would be coming next. While the rain was a challenge, it delayed the project only by a week or so. We would recommend Edgewater Pools without reservations - you won't be sorry. Thanks Edgewater!!!

I would absolutely recommend Edgewater Pools. We moved to the Charlotte area in July 2018 from upstate NY. We knew we needed a pool that first summer. We started in Dec 2018/Jan 2019, and met with Mike Stone and the team. Once we decided on Edgewater, low and behold, we find our electrical supply line right where the pool is going. We get Duke to move the line, but that was an unforeseen delay not caused by Edgewater. Mike was excellent in the design and options, and helping us pick out tile, depth, shape, stone, and Pebble-tech, etc. The crew (Greg, Rick, Kerry, Jamie, Josh, Herbie, & Jesse) were always pleasant, answered questions, and knew what they were doing. We knew via email from Amy (also great to work with) what was happening each week and what to expect over the next 4-5 months. We felt important as customers, appreciated and able to communicate with Management. Greg as the lead was excellent, made some excellent suggestions, and we had a great finished product. The only negative (minor) was that the job site could have been kept cleaner from cups, trash, etc. The good part is once we mentioned it, it was fixed very quickly. Would use them again if we ever needed another pool. Good job guys and keep up the great work. Dogs love it too!!!

We just completed our pool with Edgewater and we want to say it was professionally done from start to finish..From listening to our wants and needs to making design recommendations...all of their employees were very courteous and knowledgeable.....the pool was also installed in the timeline promised.....highly recommend them ..great job

The entire process went very smooth from beginning to end, and our Project Manager, Jon McCoy, was on top of the project every step of the way!

I would highly recommend you consider Edgewater if you are looking to have a pool built. They came out and listened to our wants and needs. They created a 3D rendering of the pool on a drawing of our house/yard. This allowed us to envision how it would look with furniture in place. They combined this with a spreadsheet that allowed us to see how each change affected the budget. One of our favorite aspects was the level of communication. Each week we received an email that outlined everything completed that week and what was going to be done the following week. Each key player of their company was copied in the email so that we were all on the same page. We couldn't be happier.

We received estimates from 3 pool companies. Although slightly more expensive, we opted to go with Edgewater based on the experience we had with our initial contact Geoff Mobbs. He was terrific and very knowledgeable and navigated our project though the building and historic district approval process -not an easy task- while we went on vacation. He handed off to Jon McCoy to manage the construction. We found Jon to be very experienced as well and easy to work with. His crew showed up everyday, and he kept us informed of next steps. Most importantly he kept the construction on track. He also referred us to other great vendors to help us finish off our project. We maintain the pool ourselves, and the occasional question we pose via text to Rick is always answered promptly. We would recommend Edgewater Pools -and have- without hesitation.

I contacted Edgewater in late March for an estimate on vinyl liner replacement, pool light replacement, replacement of coping and refurbishing the patio. I was told I would receive a call from Rick to set up a time to meet. I had to call three times total to finally get a call back from Rick. Rick did meet me at my home as scheduled on 4/8/16, two weeks after the initial contact. He was polite and professional and seemed willing to work with us on how to minimize the cost of the repairs, so we were excited to work with Edgewater despite the initial lack of responsiveness. Rick said he would get an estimate together in the next couple of days. 10 days later I had heard nothing so I texted Rick for an update. He replied immediately with a cost for the vinyl liner. I asked about the additional work, he sent another text to confirm what I was looking for an estimate on. Another week passes with no response. On the 26th I texted again for an update, no response. Texted again on the 27th, no response. Called the office on the 28th and was told my message would be passed along ... still no response. It appears this company focuses on building new pools and this project was somewhat smaller than their usual job (although still in total probably >$6K). I also understand this is probably an extremely busy time of year for building new pools, however, that does not excuse the lack of responsiveness, failing to meet commitments, and lack of respect for a potential client's time. Would be much easier for all involved for the company to just say they are too booked to take on new work (assuming that is the case) as we are now 6 weeks closer to swimming season and starting from scratch looking for a new company to get our pool into shape.

Edgewater was very professional and very knowledgeable.....asked questions that other companies did not ask or notice as potential issues with the renovation project. They were very patient and worked with me through multiple options and turned our leaking pool into our summer oasis! They are not the cheapest if comparing prices, but they do things the old fashioned way which is to do the job right!

Edgewater Pools was a pleasure to work with. The owners and employees are terrific! They definitely have their customers wishes, desires and happiness, as they're top priority. Beginning with the design phase, they put all of our ideas and their input into their computer program enabling us to really see how it will look. The program shows to scale the pool and house. The next phase was the clearing and digging the spot for the pool, laying the rebar, plumbing etc. The guys doing the work were very fast. Then the finishing of the pool with gunite, tiles, concrete and so on. We choose "Pebble Sheen" for the final coating of the inside of the pool. It looks and feels great! The water tanker showed up when expected and filled the pool up within an hour. The Edgewater team got all the systems up and running right away and had all the water balanced and ready in no time. They have been very easy to contact with questions and a couple of tweaks with our systems that we asked for. Service has been excellent! We would recommend Edgewater Pools to anyone thinking of a new or redo of an inground pool.

They did a great job. We ran into some trouble early on with the stability of the ground underneath the pool. They brought in an engineer and came up with a solution. We had questions after the completion of the pool and they were always quick to respond and a couple of times sent someone out. I would recommend them to anyone!

My wife and I could not be happier. This was a complicated project and Donnie and David at Edgewater handled ever situation to our satisfaction. Any miscues were addressed immediately. I only mention miscues as the important thing is that any complex project will have some mistakes along the way; the important thing is how well your builder takes care of those issues and Edgewater never shirked or begrudged their responsibility. Edgewater had the feel of a large family as everyone employed was friendly, professional and truly cared about the end result of the project I would highly recommend Edgewater to family and friends.

Edgewater Pools is a fully licensed pool company (see Edgewater's web site). They are very professional and go out of their way to make the pool experience a positive one. We had terrific communication throughout the process of our pool installation. They did everything we asked them to do. We passed all our inspections and can't wait for the warm weather. They are a wonderful company and we would highly recommend them. A+ rating!!!

We went with EdgeWater after researching about 10 total companies. The top reason for us choosing them was the quality of work they did to 3 of our neighbors pools as well as price point. Donnie had a vision to regrade our entire backyard we didn't think about nor any of the other companies to get the pool closer to our back door. My wife drew the concept we wanted on a napkin and Ken came and measured the layout to match exactly and after a few tweaks it ready to be dug. My 5 kids were glued to the windows during July watching the pool construction and enjoyed chatting with the crew while working. These guys worked nonstop and took their breaks and were back at it in the swealtering hot sun going at it not wasting time. Once the digging started everything was like clockwork. It was way ahead of schedule and as long as the rain held off the crew stayed ahead of schedule. Donnie emailed me weekly with updates on what was done and happening that current week. Here we are 6 months after and anytime I have a question about the pumps, lights, cleaning or app that controls everything Donnie responds very quickly even with all the other customers he supports he takes the time to personally call to talk through the answer. We are very satisfied with our pool and so were the 60+ people we have had over for youth functions, birthday parties or family gatherings. Thank you edge water for an awesome product!!!!!

We couldn't be happier with our pool! Donnie and his team did an incredible job. We spoke to a number of pool installers before deciding on Edgewater. We felt that the Edgewater representatives added a lot of value by not pushing options that were emphasized by other installers. They directed us toward proven products and materials and provided a number of different designs from which to choose. They were patient. Other installers used the "sign today or lose this incentive" approach. Edgewater was up front with their pricing and encouraged us to check around and compare quality for quality. When doing so, we found there really was a difference in the various proposals and products. Once the contract was signed, work began right away. We were updated, at least, weekly on what was completed and what would happen next. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it - no surprises. There were also no surprises with the billing. They charged exactly what they said and there were no suspicious overruns, like we have seen on so many other projects we have done at the house. Now that a swimming season has passed, I can say that we would do it all over again and not change a thing. Our backyard is very inviting, no matter the season. Our memories of the process are positive ones and the memories we are making with family and friends with the new pool are just beginning. Thanks, Donnie and team, for a great job!

In checking their credentials, they do not hold a current NC Builders License. They do not have a valid license. They seem very unprofessional. I watched them build my neighbor's pool and they did a lot of shady things.

We had contacted the provider in May 2013, they came recommended by our home builder. We met at out new house site and went over plan and put down a deposit. When we were ready to put in the pool in Feb 2014 we re-contacted Edgewater and Ken came out to go over the plan. We agreed on a larger size pool and Ken said he would set up a time to see a pool and get us the new plans in the next few days. We never heard back from him. We emailed and called him several times over the next 6 weeks and were told he was out of town, plans had been emailed etc. but we never received anything. After calling the main office to get our deposit refunded we were told that Donnie (the owner) would contact us - it never happened. After we contacted Edgewater a few more times we got our refund check for the deposit. We never heard why they were so unresponsive but we are now 8 weeks behind where we thought we would be in this process and are now looking for another pool company. I would never recommend them, very poor customer service and no communication.

I contacted Donnie Todd about remodeling an existing swimming pool. I explained that the pool had been installed 30 years ago and needed updating, including possible changes from a vinyl lined to a solid surface the pool surround would also need to be updated or replaced. He advised that Ken would call and come by the house to appraise the job. Ken did call and met me at my home. He spent maybe 10 minutes looking at the existing pool, took no notes, no dimensions. He advised that he would get back to me the following week with an estimate. He never called. I called again and left a message with Donnie about the promise of an estimate. He never returned my call either. if they do not want the job, why tell you they will get back to you. He obviously is either busy now that the economy is better, or they do not want to do remodel work. I will not call them for any work in the future and will be sure to advise others of my experience and not to use them as well.

The pool construction was outstanding. The guys at Edgewater build a great pool. We could be more pleased with the finished result. There were a few issues during the process but Donnie and his team met with me on several occasions and exceeded all of my expectations at the end of the day. There will always be some issues and unknowns that take place during a pool installation. But the mark of a good firm is how they work with you to address any issues that surface. Edgewater seems to want to constantly improve and ultimately the best pool company they can be and it shows. Their fencing contractor is the best I have ever worked with and did an outstanding job. The concrete decking installation was outstanding (even inspectors made comments in the positive). The pool is efficient, beautiful and is clearly quality work. Everything worked as advertised and we are very happy with our new pool. We had some irrigation issues and I think everyone must always do their homework and ensure that you are covered to deal with issues of this type up front with the pool company as this can be a big issue in the future. Edgewater helped us with this challenge but we did need to bring in a landscaper to address a couple of things we needed. We are very happy with Edgewater and would recommend them to anyone and already have done so with many friends looking to build a pool in the near future. We also felt we made a good decision going with a salt based system, upgrading the size of the standard deck (huge upfront focus to ensure you have room for patio furniture), adding a jumping rock and widening the standard access point if you expect to have multiple kids accessing the pool simultaneously. We are very happy with all of those decisions and would urge everyone to make the same considerations to match your needs.

Edgewater just finished the project for us. The process began with my sales rep, Brian. He was very helpful, informative and a pleasure to work with. Once the project began, Ken took over. Ken has an incredible depth of knowledge as a pool builder and helped us make a number of good decisions throughout the construction process. Then Damon took over for the finishing steps and to educate us about use and care. Damon is fantastic to deal with. He is willing to take the time to explain things and is very accessible. Throughout the process, Ann Marie, Shawn and Donnie provided assistance and communication from the office and also have been wonderful to work with. We are first time pool owners and feel very fortunate to have selected the team at Edgewater to design and build out fantastic pool and patio. Although the project has just been completed, we are confident that these people will be there for us if we need service and help in the future. Clearly, I would recommend Edgewater Pools to anyone with great confidence.

We interviewed and got price quotes from several pool companies. I was very impressed with Kevin Bonemma of Edgewater Pools. He created a beautiful design using his computer that showed us every detail of the pool installation. I met with him on a Monday afternoon and told him that I wanted to discuss things with my wife first. I told him to come back that evening if he could and he made the extra effort to come back after hours and talk with my wife and I. I just felt confident that they would do a superior job on the project. Despite the fact that the weather this summer was horrible and that it was installed during peak season I feel they worked as efficiently and quickly as possible. I am very please with final project. They did a great job on both the pool and the concrete decking. They have transformed my backyard into an amazing summer hang out where I love to spend time with my family. Ken and his crew did a very good job. They have even come out on Saturdays to work as needed. I would do business with them again.

They were professional, courteous and a delight to work with. We love our pool and spa and enjoy them year round. They were very helpful the first year as we learned to take care of the pool and have continued to provide excellent customer service.

We received estimates from 4 pool builders and all were within a few thousand dollars of each other. During the sales process Edgewater came out to the house (supposedly while we weren't home) and 'shot the grade' so that they could provide an all-in bid including tree removal and earth work. The pool design was beautiful and ultimately we decided to use Edgewater. The negotiation process began in September and should have been an early indication on how the project would go. In order to complete the pool by summer we needed to break ground in January or February. Edgewater was so busy at the time that the sales person assigned to our account was actually a pool designer. He had no negotiation authority, had to go back to the owners for every little question, and we would spend days waiting for answers. Once the contract was finally executed the foreman came on-site and we soon discovered that the beautiful design that we loved couldn't even be built on our lot (remember they supposedly shot the grade during the sales process). So again, we spent a couple of weeks negotiating changes and pool placement. This resulted in us having to cancel a proposed patio that went straight to the pool decking and having to put in a wood deck (added expense #1). In addition we now had to build a paved pathway from the wood deck to the concrete pool decking (added expense #2). Finally, we also had to bring in additional loads of dirt (added expense #3), renegotiate the amount of concrete for the pool decking (added expense #4), and change the design of a firepit area (added expense #5). After completion we had a leak in the pool and had serious yard drainage issues that had to be addressed. Edgewater helped with both. I am a Project Manager by trade and deal with contractors on a daily basis... this was by far the most painful and disappointing project that I have ever been a part of.

Donnie Todd, an owner at Edgewater Pools LLC and the other guys we worked with on our project were amazing! They were professional from start to finish and we could not have been happier. We had an initial meeting to survey the area for the pool to be installed where every step of the upcoming process was explained to us in detail. They gave us an expected timeframe of the building process, and except for a few rain delays, they were on track all the way through. The crews always showed up to work when expected and went above and beyond. We received an email every Friday detailing the progress that was made during the week as well as a schedule for the next week. It was incredibly helpful to know ahead of time when to expect them so I could schedule my own life instead of waiting each day to see if anyone was going to show up to work. (This has, unfortunately been my experience too often in the past with other companies.) When the pool was completed we had a class that explained in detail how to maintain our pool. He was very patient and answered all of my questions no matter how obvious they seemed! We love our new pool, it has been a great experience and we would recommend Edgewater to anyone. Happy Swimming!
