+ 1 moreThe builders assumed that the foundation was level and square, as it should have been. They then put the floor joists on. It was only when the walls were going up, that it was noticed that the foundation was not level and not square. We called Mr. Jacobs back out, who admitted it was incorrect. He offered to correct it, but another person he works with said they would not fix it, and they left together. We contacted Mr. Jacobs again, who said he would fix it. Since so much work was already done, we did not want it fixed. We just wanted him to mortar the gaps, since the workers were able to properly lift it to make it level and square. He eventually agreed to do so.
Description of Work: This is our second report on this company. We submitted the original, thinking we would be done with them. They built a crawlspace foundation for an addition on our home. When the workers went to put up the walls, we learned the foundation was not square and was not level. The builders had to correct for this error, and "lift" the foundation. Therefore, there were gaps between the foundation and the flooring of the addition. Jesse Jacobs eventually came back, and put mortar in the gaps to seal the foundation. From 1st report: We are putting an addition on our home. Our addition required a crawlspace. We had a foundation dug, and concrete poured. Then bricks and cinder blocks were laid to create the wall of the crawlspace.
