It’s been almost 2 months without A/C. A/C went out. Home warranty said use Callahans. They came out. Sorted out the problem. Needed a new unit. Ordered it. Took awhile to come in (expected given supply chain etc). Hadn’t heard anything in a few weeks called and told it would be in the following Tuesday and they would be out later in the week. Never heard from em. Called em 2 weeks later and told would be out later in the week. Didn’t hear a word from em after adjusting everyone’s schedule to be sure someone would be home when they came/called. Called em again the following week and again told Would be out later in the. Once again never heard from em. It’s in the 90’s can’t use the upstairs. Kids sleeping on the couch. Delays happen I know but repeatedly saying one thing and not doing it is unprofessional at best. Now having to go through home Warranty to find alternative service provider.

Realized May 13 our AC was broken. Filled out an online work request with our home warranty company that day. May 15 - received a call from a tech at Callahan's. He said he would be out Wednesday the 16. May 16 - Tech diagnosed the problem (bad compressor) and was out of here in ten minutes. Said it would take about a week to get the part in. May 23 - I called Callahan's because it had been a week. I got an earful about how Daryl (the owner) had been on vacation the previous week and that on Monday the 21 he had a colonoscopy done (way too much information given there) and was therefore just sitting down to order my part (a week after the tech had been to my house). I expressed my disbelief and displeasure that the part hadn't been yet been ordered. Requested that it get done quickly. May 29 - Still hadn't heard anything, so my husband called the warranty company to complain. Warranty supervisor called me back, and was not pleased nothing had happened. He said the warranty company were the ones to actually order the part, not Callahan's, and they had just received the request. Supervisor said it seemed as though Daryl was "dragging his feet" on getting my part ordered. June 4 - I called the warranty company to see if the part had been delivered. Was informed it would be delivered the next day. June 5 - I called Callahan's and told Daryl the warranty company said the part would be delivered this day, and could we schedule an appointment. He refused. I then called the warranty company, who then called the supplier to verify regarding the part. Supplier said it would be delivered this day. June 6 - My husband called Callahan's to try to schedule an appointment. Daryl said there were no appointments until the following Monday, which upset my husband. Daryl refused to make an appointment and hung up on my husband. I then called the supervisor at the warranty company, who was not pleased. He called Daryl, who lied to him and said he had told my husband if there was a cancellation he would call us. Supervisor called me back and told me what Daryl had said. I informed supervisor that Daryl had never said anything about giving us a cancellation appointment, should one arise. Supervisor said that Daryl knew to call me if there was a cancellation. June 8 - Daryl called me and said his techs would be coming this day to fix my unit. They arrived, and after spending an hour going back out to get more Freon because they weren't given enough to do the job, it was fixed. I have two children. We went 26 days with no air conditioner in the middle of a heat wave in South Carolina. Most days the temperature in my house never got below 80 degrees. I feel Daryl lied to everyone involved and did everything he could to make this take longer than it should have. I would NOT recommend this company, unless you like your things to be broken for weeks longer than necessary. I would give zero stars if allowed. Run far, far away from this company. They do not deserve anyone's money.

I was referred to Callahan's Heating & Air through my Home Warranty company. I had not heard of them prior to. My A/C was out and it was a very hot, humid weekend so they were inundated with service calls. Daryl called Sunday said he couldn't get to me until Monday. I wasn't able to get home from work until 4:30 pm. There seemed to be some communication problems but I will chalk it up to so many other people with no cool air like me. Any way, they came out at 6:45 pm and fixed it in no time. RELIEF! I will save their number.
Description of Work: Trane system was running a short cycle, sounded different than usual, and thermostat was set at 74 F and was reading 84 F. Freeon was fine but they had to change out a large capacitor.

Going through our home warranty company, we were assigned Callahan's Heating & Air. They came out as promised, but that's where the positive experience ended. My wife was at home by herself and even though she tried to explain to them what the problem was, they talked down to her like she was an ignorant woman and they were the big strong professional men. They proceeded to add some freon and charge her $140 and left. They never even went into the attic to look at the air handler. I called the company that afternoon, angry at the way they had treated my wife. I called the home warranty company to complain about their service and the fact that they charged us $140 to do nothing. The problem continued, just like we thought it would. They had to come back out a few days later. A different technician came out and when he actually looked at our equipment, came to the same conclusion my wife had tried to tell them about. Even though they came to the proper conclusion, they never filed the report with the home warranty company even though we called them repeatedly. The home warranty company finally sent someone else out. I would never ever recommend Callahan's. They were unprofessional; they talk down to you; and they won't see your problem through from start to finish.

Callahan's provides EXCELLENT service! Last year, our 1st floor A/C unit stopped functioning normally. After calling our home warranty company and having another company assigned to service the unit (TRANE) only to find that this provider wasn't proficient with TRANE products. Callahan's was assigned to the project and did an amazing job of managing the repair process, the regular warranty issues, as well as the home warranty aspect. Darryl is FANTASTIC! Knowledgeable, friendly, personable & efficient on top of being hard-working and honest! He did such a great job we had him service the unit for our upstairs the other day. It didn't seem to be cooling fully. It turned out that the drain line was clogged. He efficiently unclogged and readjusted the line so that it drains properly. He called ahead so that we knew when to expect him . Additionally, during our 1st floor's major repair last year, my parents' interacted with Darryl as well as witnessed his services & skills. They were so impressed that he is now their "go to" Heating & Air professional, as well. We HIGHLY recommend Callahan's Heating & Air!
Description of Work: Serviced upstairs A/C unit which involved unclogging and readjusting drain line.
