Advanced Pool Technicians

They did a great job both times. Well priced, professional and with great communication. Had some bad experiences with other pool companies but Advanced Pool Technicians stand head and shoulders above anyone else locally in my opinion

We had to have some cracks repaired in our pool, as well as the pool coping replaced. We first reached out to this company in March of 2018, and it took a month get him to come out in person. When we finally got a quote, he told me that for the pool coping, he'd have to charge me a minimum price instead of using the square footage of the pool, which is just 5k gallons. When he said this, I let him know I'd have to get other quotes, and he said he understood. I told him in July that I would proceed, and he told me it'd be after July 4th. Two weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything so I reached out again to ask when he could do the work. I didn't get an answer, so I pinged him again in mid August. I didn't get a response until mid September. By this time, the pool coping had been replaced, but I needed the rest of the work done. He refused to honor his quote and perform the work. I decided then that I would just get the other repair work done, and he went back to being unresponsive. My first contact was in March of 2018, and it took a year to get an actual estimate from him. He told me I had to get a leak estimate done, which I did, and I was ready to schedule him but he told me all of his masons were booked up, so I had some of the work done by someone else. I reached back out to have him perform the rest of the work, but he refused. I told him I'd leave an accurate review, but I left well enough alone. I just recently reached out to tell him the scope of the job got bigger, to see if he'd do the work, and he refused because of these 'issues' which were his issues, not mine, which prompted me to share this experience so others look elsewhere for a company that won't try to waste their time or price gauge them in the Summer (similar to what other reviews have said).

Before Advanced Pools we had tried several other pool companies and been dissatisfied with them all. Bryan and his team are by far the best, most knowledgeable and even the nicest pool company we've dealt with. He and his guys know are well trained, they know their stuff and they work really, really hard. I would highly recommend.

Prompt and correct repair

2 minutes ago Bryan, the owner of the company was extremely rude and disrespectful to myself and my husband via several phone calls and emails. His workers may be very good at what they do, but I can not speak to that fact because we never got that far. After a few days of dealing with his horrific attitude, we realized we would not want to hire him under any circumstances. I honestly do not know how he stays in business with his blatant disregard to customer service.

Brian and his team are great. He was able to get back to me within about 48 Hours of me leaving a voicemail and we set an appointment to review my renovation work. I did get 2 other quotes but it took quite some time to get the other contractors to send their prices so by the time I made a decision and got back to Brian a month had already passed. I'm really glad I ended up going with him. He took more time to explain things to me and gave me more options for my renovation than anyone else. He really seemed like he wants to provide me the best products for my job and was always willing to take the time to help me. He was a bit more expensive but worth it for me. Total cost for our renovation for Pebble Tec, coping and tile was about $27,000. I would definitely recommend Brian and his team. Thank you for a great job Brian!!

He returned my calls. He showed up on time. Offered sound advice that likely saved me money I had planned to spend. He was knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions even though the visit resulted in no work for him. I had no work done but will contact him again when I do.

The pool looked great but the cost of chemicals and the labor costs for any extra thing done was astronomical. Are they in the "rip people off in the summer months" business? My advice- make sure you get a list of all costs for extras like filter cleaning and approve any chemicals before they are put into your pool. I went broke in just two months..

Bryan and his crew are professional, and always willing to also teach the pool owner how to do their own maintenance if that is what they so desire. I've always been pleased with my service level and fair pricing.

GREAT, JOB DONE QUICKLY AND GOOD QUALITY

Called and left 3 messages. But he never returned phone calls. One time he answered and told that he'll call me right back. But never did.

So far so good. We have contracted with them for a couple of years now. The owner of the company is very knowledgeable and anxious to please.

Bryan and his team are fantastic! Everyone was extremely professional and you could tell they take great pride in their work by their attention to detail. I was also very pleased to learn while they were here that he also works on pool heaters. We will need to have the pool re-plastered in the next year or two and will definitely use Bryan and his team for that job as well. Bryan was referred by a colleague of mine in addition to seeing the positive reviews on Angie's list.

I discovered a problem with my liner in early May when I removed the winter cover. A lot of water got behind the liner and floated it. It did take about 3 weeks to get them out to fix the problem... spring is a very busy time for pool companies. They were able to drain my pool, and reset the liner. They actually did a better job than the company that installed the liner 3 years ago! Execellent work. The quote was prompt and accurate. The work was completed quickly once I got to the top of the wait list. I will use them again if I need a pool repair.... which I hope is no time too soon!

Great company to work with.

After several e mail communications and him showing up two days early...............The job was completed to my satisfaction. I forget the amount I had to pay........but at the time.....for the peace of mind and going out on a limb.....working with someone new I have no complaints.

We quit them because we were not that thrilled with their service. It seemed like they were not doing a complete job. The technicians would come out and service the equipment and then I would check and I would find things that they had missed. He would leave our water hose running; we noticed a warning sign coming up on some of our equipment. We would not tell the technicians, we would leave it to see if the technicians would tell us about it and they would miss it completely. They just were not that thorough. We quit using them about 3 months ago and they use to come out every other week. The folks that came out were professional.

After completing about $200,000 worth of renovations on the house, we finally got to do the pool. We got 2 bids and Bryan's was actually the higher of them but we ended up going with him because of the way he spoke with us and took the time to explain everything to us. This work was actually done over a year ago and I waited until now because my experience has shown me that sometimes work looks great when first done and after a year or so stuff breaks or settles or falls apart. I can say that is not the case for the pool. We had him put custom marble coping around the pool and spa, as well as the planters in the backyard. We also refinished the interior of the pool in quartz and replaced the tile around the pool and on the outside of the hot tub. Bryan was able to give us a quote in writing and there was only one small exception because I added new lights to the pool. That was the only difference from the original quote to the actual price paid. I was actually surprised, usually on our projects this size there's almost always extra cost that comes up during the project. The job took about a week longer than what he originally told us but it still wasn't excessive and largely due to rain delay. So its a year later and our pool still looks just as good as when he first did it. One of the issues with the quartz surface we put in, was it looked splotchy when first installed and Bryan told us beforehand that it would wear away over the course of a year and it has. We have dealt with many contractors over last 4-5 years and I can say that Bryan was one of the most professional and courteous that we have worked with. I will definitely continue using him to maintain our pool as well as anything else will need.

Background: I wrote poor reviews for several pool repair companies because they never got back to me, even after coming a long distance to the house and taking measurements and accessing the situation. I was frustrated wasting my time, being available for the initial assessment of the pool and then never hearing from the company. APT was one of them. APT was also the only company who was concerned about the review and gave me a call. Bryan the owner gave me a call and wanted to rectify the situation. I have to say, Bryan was very pleasant, professional and truly concerned that we were not happy with what turns out to be a misunderstanding about the time frame we wanted. I have deleted the negative review. We will be receiving a quote from Bryan soon. We did talk at length and I was impressed with the pride and dedication Bryan has regarding his customers. My negative impression of APT has completely turned around and I am actually very impressed with Advanced Pool Technician as a reputable and dedicated company.

We called this company and a few others for quotes and the men just seemed to be so responsive and knowledgeable that they were the ones chosen. They came out and gave an estimate, and since they were trusted by so many others in the neighborhood, there were no doubts that all trust could be placed in there hands when it came to our pool service and weekly maintanence.

We contacted Bryan when we purchased our first home with a pool but would not be able to move in immediately. We continued to have weekly pool maintenance done until we were settled in and felt comfortable taking over. We were very happy with the service provided by Advanced Pool. Bryan and his team were very willing to answer questions on the work they were doing and to teach us what we needed to know to take over. We will continue to use Advanced Pool for ad-hoc maintenance items and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Brian is great. He came and looked at the system, sent me a quote that night via email, ordered the pump and when the bad weather hit in January when we were supposed to have the work done he called and made sure we were on the same page for moving to a new date. Advanced Pool Tech will be my only provider for pool care in Charlotte. Great job!
