A PLUS ELECTRIC SVC

It went well, but I thought the charge of $425 was excessive. I was not given a written estimate or receipt. There was not a lot of cleanup but I had to do it!

We have a 30+ year old house, and many of the electric outlets were "hot-wired" when the house was built.  On two separate occasions, an outlet shorted out, taking down a circuit and killing all outlets in a part of the house.  Each time was in the evening, and we did not feel comfortable going to sleep with a short in our walls.  Mr. Smith came out to the house promptly, even though the first time was close to midnight, and the second was definitely long after working hours.  He was quick and professional, and quickly replaced the outlet and checked out the circuit.
The cost was fairly expensive, but each time was an after-hours emergency call.

Selected this company from the phone book. Talked to the owner Mark Smith and told him I needed a Quad box for a backyard pond. He quoted me $500.00 over the phone. During our conversation I explained that we needed four electrical outlets to accommodate the pond and the lights. I wasn't home at the time of the installation. He installed two outlets. When I called him to let him know the work was not satisfactory he said that he can add the two missing outlets but it will cost me an additional $200.00. He said that there was never a mention of a quad box. That is not correct since I relay exactly what the pond contractor requested. Mr. Smith is not a professional you can trust

Called this company from Yellow Pages listing. Owner of business (looked like picture in full page ad) came to my home within reasonable time. Spent a couple of hours, interrupted by a quick trip to the local Home Depot for some item, repair completed. Paid $550.00 after he had estimated it would be much less. After talking with two local electricians, I was told that I was probably ripped off. I was expecting to pay maybe $100.00 an hour....but this was a real shock. Won't call this guy again.
