We used UPack/ABF to pack and store the contents of our house while moving from Austin TX to Pickens SC. We packed ourselves in May 2015, and had the trailer sent to Greenville SC for storage until we found a house in the Greenville area. We did not move in until the beginning of November 2015. The trailer cost us $395/month to store. When we had it delivered, ABF was easy to work with and delivered the truck in 1 day. They did not leave a ramp to access the trailer, as they should have. My husband had to drive to their Greenville office to get a ramp because we were expecting unpacking help within an hour, and they couldn't promise delivery of the ramp that soon. When we opened the trailer we found that rain had gotten in the door and ruined a few things, There was mostly mold damage from the rain and heat. I don't know how that could have been prevented except to have a better door on the trailer. Or to not leave our stuff in storage for the summer. ABF picked up the empty trailer the next day. Overall, ABF was easy to work with and delivered the trailer on both ends in a timely manner. I would recommend the UPack method of moving if you don't mind packing yourself.
Description of Work: Stored 28' trailer of household goods, and delivered it.

For long distance packing and moving, that is an excellent way to do it. They have special bars and separators that come down so that you can pack the highest. you are charged per linial foot as far as back to front or front to back I should say. The benefit is that you can pack high and maximize your packing space by getting appropriate boxes and packing tight and packing high, but you have to do the packing. They do insure it for when they are on the road. It is a reasonable insurance and a reasonable care. I had everything delivered to my house. It had not been broken and there was nothing that needed repair. I find them to be superior. The guys on both ends, the ones that delivered the pod and picked it up. Same with delivery on the receiving end. They were courteous. I could not get the door down after unpacking and they said no problem and they came out early to get the trailer and took it away. As far as price was concerned, they were very honest in telling me that their price was not good for short distance but they are great for long distance and I found that to be true.
Description of Work: I used U-Pack when I moved from Chicago to Piedmont. I had the trailer for 3 or 4 days. What they provide is a tractor trailer that you can rent and even provide some dollys.
