The experience was very good. He did not ask nor I did not give him any money up front. I paid the supplier for the bricks and supplies myself. He worked steady only breaking for lunch. I was very pleased with his work and would use him again. I had other estimates that were twice what he charged. The work performed was great and has been admired by all my neighbors.
Description of Work: I had a wood column replaced that had severe termite damage. As I had excess bricks I had a planter built opposite the column which balanced out quite nicely. There was a bad crack in the concrete of my small porch and I had flagstone installed over the concrete.

Work was to begin on 05/17/10. On 05/17/10 Brent called and asked me for a 1 week postponement, which I agreed to. On 05/24/10 he started ignoring my phone calls, and subsequently made the following claims via email: 05/25 - claimed his phone was inoperable. 05/29 - claimed he had been in a car accident and hospitalized. 05/30 - claimed he had moved to a new location (Gaffney). 05/31 - claimed he was having an operation on his liver the following day. In the latter email he also said he had spent most of the $4000.00 on personal expenses and expected he would spend the remainder on food for his wife and kids. Since Brent refused to answer my phone calls I contacted his parents, his uncle, and an acquaintance of his. Each of those people verified that Brent's claims of phone problems, car accidents, moving to a new location, and hospitalizations are blatantly false. Each of those persons told me he is continuing to accept and perform work for other clients.
Description of Work: On 05/13/10 I paid David B. Good (aka Brent Good) doing business as American_Masonry $4000.00 in advance to provide masonry services to lay stone on my pool patio area. He has told me via email that he has spent my money on personal expenses and is unable to perform the work nor return my payment.
