They were done in 2 days and cleaned up well after themselves. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew.

It went OK the first time. But we had new construction. They had installed our units and their number was on our thermostats. So we called when the AC did not work. We'd been in the house one year. They came out and said something was broken that was not covered under the warranty. Our price was $300. The next year, the exact same thing happened. I called, and it was another $300. The THIRD year, I called someone else. It turns out that our tube that delivered Freon to the system was not properly tightened. NOT loose, or broken, but not tightly sealed. Quality Plus did our "repair" for free and the other stuff done by Stoudenmire was not only unnecessary, it was costly and it invalidated our warranty! Do not, ever, use them. They are dishonest to the core.

Obviously the technician who came to the phone was annoyed that I called 10 minutes after they had closed (although their website says they are open 24 hrs.). It appeared that they really didn't need the business, so I did not call them back.

There was a miscommunication about what services I wanted. The company apologized and did not charge me for the extra service rendered. I was very pleased; there was no headache. Would use again.

They were conscientious and worked with me on negotiating a price. They did a good job and arrived on time. They did not do a great job of cleaning up the area after the duct replacement. I felt they could have done better at this. Overall I was pleased with service.

It was good. He was honest. It wasn't what I wanted to hear. He explained things very thoroughly. He pretty much told me that it would make it through this winter but it probably won't make it through next winter. Actually, he was very professional. I liked them. He was really detailed oriented. He actually made some suggestions on what I can do and not do, such as buying a carbon monoxide detector. He said because if it's shooting out carbon monoxide, you would want to know if it's coming in the house.

Exceptional Personnel. He took the time to explain the operation of the equipment and the length of time to pass before i need to have it serviced again. Very pleased with the service...

Service was prompt, cooperative, successful

Service person was on time and polite. Immediately set to work and communicated in a manner that was easy to understand. Changed filters in ceiling that I couldn't reach with ceiling height. Let me know what I needed to do to get stand alone gas fireplace inspected and working.

Cleaned and inspected the A/C system. Went well

I purchased a coupon for Stoudenmire to inspect, tune-up, and clean the A/C unit. Our A/C has been working and keeping the house cool, but it didn't seem like it was working efficiently. The unit was installed new when we built the house two years ago. Terry and Edward arrived on time and started right to work. Unfortunately they discovered a small leak in the evaporator coil and recommended that it be replaced. The coil was still under warranty, so the cost was for labor only. The work was scheduled for a few days later and two other guys came out to replace it. We weren't home at the time because all of the work was outside, however they arrived several hours later than we were told. Not normally a big deal, but we had 3 dogs that were penned up the whole time. When we returned home, everything looked the way we have left it - which I suppose is a good thing, but it would have been nice to have had a worksheet indicating that the work was performed and that it had gone as planned. Also, I had asked for a copy of their annual service contract to review but didn't get one. All in all we are very pleased with the work. There was a small problem with the invoice, more of a misunderstanding, that was cleared in 5 minutes with a phone call. I'm waiting on a copy of the contract because we're definitely interested in having them provide semi-annual service. And I will call them for future HVAC problems!

Everything has turned out okay and they arrived on time for the appointment. All he did was check the unit outside and repair a small issue on it. I did have to suggest a couple of things to them for the service such as coming inside to look at the filter and thermostat. He then found that the filter that was installed was the wrong size. The technician did have the correct sized filter on his truck and he was able to install it for me. However, I would have never known I had the incorrect size had I not asked him to check on the filter. The installers of the unit did not put a mouse prevention around the bottom of it. He said they could do that and he would get back with me, but he has not yet. He also suggested an improvement to the air intake and I am waiting for him to get back to me with that as well.

not the way to do business at all. I decided after waiting 10 days for them to give me an estimate to call another company. Is this the kind of company you would do business with when you cannot count on them.

Steve did arrive on time but, unfortunately, that is about the only positive thing I can say. When Steve arrived, I discussed with him some issues I wanted him to look into in addition to the A/C inspection, tune-up & cleaning I was supposed to get done. He inspected the portion of the A/C in my crawl space then told me I had some leaking around the unit and he could get me an estimate on what it would cost for them to replace the air filter with a better model and to repair the leak. He was in and out of my house in under 20 minutes. He never looked at the portion of my A/C unit outside (even though that was listed as part of the service on the voucher). He pulled out an old dirty filter from the unit under the house to show me but he DID NOT replace it with a new, clean one he just said it was an "odd size" and left it laying on the ground. I had to go out and buy a filter that was smaller just so I could have some sort of filter in the unit. I emailed the company the same afternoon as the "service" to ask them if everything listed on their voucher could have possibly been done in under 20 minutes (even though I never saw any cleaning or tuning up) and to let them know I was not pleased with the service in order to give them time to respond to me and/or fulfill the voucher at another time before I posted this negative review. The only response I received was that they could "install an April Air Filter and seal the leaks at the unit for $850.00". They never even acknowledged the questions/concerns in my email. If they can't provide all of the services listed on the voucher I purchased, why would I hire them to fix anything??? BUYER BEWARE!

They were very professional, prompt and on time. They performed the work just what I asked them to with a very reasonable price.

Process went well. The man was extremely polite and prompt, couldn't ask for better service or more professionalism.

They said they came but I have no proof they came. They did not leave a note saying what they did and what they found out. They came back in the fall and I called and asked when they came because I had no idea they had been here. They promised to leave a note when they came back in the spring but did NOT leave any note saying anything. A service person called and said they would come by the next day and check on the filters inside the house. I was home all day and no one showed up or even called me. I"m going to find someone else to check my unit soon.

I woke up in a Thursday morning to find my house 60 degrees with the heat pump running and the temp set at 68 degrees. After calling the company that installed it 11 years ago, they came out and said said the repair would be $2,000 and recommended replacement of the unit for $5,200. I joined Angie's list to get recommendations and sought advice from an experienced HVAC professional in Greenville (2 hours away) I had a very positive experience with Stoudenmire. I have previous construction experience and have very high standard for quality work with attention to detail. Before deciding on a company to use I consulted with a friends father in another city who is nearing retirement after a career in HVAC. He talked me through everything I should be looking for including unit size and brands, tax rebates, return size, warranty pricing and install pricing. Stoudenmire was my second opinion on the job to be done and everything they were saying was right in line with the advice I had received from the very experienced advice I had received. The price quoted me was lower than a previous quote (after manufacturer, SCE&G, and Tax rebates) by about $500 and the unit was of a much higher quality according to the expert I spoke with. I would have given excellent on price except that the 10 year labor warranty quoted me (which I have not purchased yet) was about $100 to $150 more than I was told I could possibly get it for. After the work was done, I inspected the quality of work and everything looked excellent. They did not seem to rush the job and seemed to do a few extra things (like install anti-rodent mesh since I told them about a potential mice problem). I would definitely recommend them at this point. They were prompt, courteous, very fair in their price, and did a good job.

Excellent response, service, price & quality product! Both our heat pumps were vandalised at our vacant home. I had used Stoudenmire for over 10 years and was satisfied with their service so they were one of two companies I called. Not only did they call me back promptly, Mike also worked directly with our claims adjuster and price was much lower than we had expected. I initially scheduled the installation based on a rental contract. When our rental agency notified us the move-in date changed and we needed the units in earlier, I contacted Mike to see how soon they could get them in. I called him on a thursday around 10A and both units were installed and functional before 4P the very next day! Plus we got a $250 discount! The new units are brand name Bryants with 10 year warranties. Stoudenmire came thru for us once again! hint... make sure to check their website for coupons ;) Oh, I didn't even get a call back from the other company...

The AC unit stopped working on July 3rd. Stoudenmire came out that evening to diagnose the problem. It was really hot that day and they did not want to leave us without a working unit. They returned early on July 4th and installed the new AC unit. Their work was professional and quick! We actually enjoyed a cool July 4th evening in our air conditioned home.

They did a very good job. Came on time, did his business in a timely manner. Everything went well.

I can't say enough good things about Stoudenmire. Their support has been terrific.

Fine. Air and moisture had accumulated in the supply line and was preventing the gas valve from working.
