My husband wanted to give his brother, my brother in-law $5,000 so we took out a loan with Springleaf Financial Services. We have pretty good credit. The interest rate on the loan is 27% which is extremely high, higher than anything we have. Springleaf called us today, wanting to lend us more money in which we clearly said no. My husband asked if they could lower the interest rate on the loan we already had, and they said no. We were shocked because generally when you refinance and have good credit they grant a lower interest rate. Another side note is that Springleaf sends the bill on the 2nd of every month and we usually pay it the day of or the next day. The due date is usually the 10th of the month which is very, very short in terms of making sure your payment arrives on time. Springleaf has a $30 or $40 late fee. It's like they want you to purposely pay more.
Description of Work: We took out a $5000 with Springleaf Financial Services.
