The Sox and Freeman team was very professional. They work they did was exactly as expected.

Better than expectations, which were high. They used an 85' man bucket and an intrepid climber to get the trees down. They were very careful to move planters and a bird bath that might have gotten damaged. They cleaned up promptly, ground up and hauled away the small branches and carted away the enormous number of logs from the trunks of the trees.

It was successful and working with them was a breeze. I had to wait six weeks to have the work done as their services are in great demand due to storms. They did an excellent job.

The estimator was punctual and knowledgeable. They communicated efficiently about the cost and timing of the service, with quick answers to any questions. They cleaned up after themselves. I could not have been more pleased.

Mr. Freeman came out and spoke with my wife and me about our trees. He looked at the pines and at a younger oak in our backyard, which we gave us some advice on. He was a gentleman, polite and confident that he could do the job and do it right. The crew showed up when they said they would (right after Christmas, 2016). In about two days, the three trees were down. The logs were set aside along the street and were removed promptly as well. The stump grinder came and went almost without notice. The grass was hardly disturbed by the tree-felling and movement of heavy equipment. If you didn't already know it, you wouldn't realize three enormous trees were 100% removed in a matter of days. I have enormous respect for the skilled men and women at Sox & Freeman and will recommend their services to others in the future.

We had an elm tree that split about 30 feet up during a storm. Part of the tree fell on our new storage building's metal roof; the other part was laying against an adjacent tree and over our fence into the neighboring yard. We had to wait a few weeks because they were so busy due to widespread storm damage, but the team from Sox and Freeman were worth the wait. They even reworked their schedule that week so they could remove our tree before our landscape contractor (for whom we waited several months) began regrading our yard. S & F brought in special machinery to remove the branches on our storage building without damaging the roof or the yard. They cleaned off the roof and removed all fallen and cut branches. They also removed the tree, ground the stump, and hauled off all the debris. You would never know a tree grew there. They were on time, very professional, and did a GREAT job. Quick response on site survey and proposal (which we submitted to our insurance company) ; competitive pricing; recommended by other professionals; our insurance covered most of it; do highly recommend.

They were very courteous, quick, and professional. Asked exactly how far back we wanted the limbs trimmed and did an excellent job. We used them for an earlier job to remove a couple of trees in our yard that were dead or too near the house. They did this so well, we contacted them for this minor work.

Had detailed work list of over 20 items, scheduled for 1+ days. Original date postponed 4 days due to the major rain/floods in Columbia area (expected this-had no emergency work of my own). Four man crew on first day on time and professional; same with 2 man crew on 2nd day (only about an hour's work to finish it up). Removed debris and cleaned up all the small stuff. Very happy.

Sox and Freeman had been recommended to me by several friends, and I was told that they're top notch: very professional in every way (if somewhat on the expensive side, given their quality and expertise). I have a hackberry tree in the my backyard that has a rotten spot on the trunk, and left a message on their machine after 5:00 pm asking to have it evaluated. The next morning, shortly after 9:00 am, they returned my call, and we set up a time for the the following week. Chris Freeman showed up right on time, and evaluated the tree. While he said the rotten spot is compromised to some degree, it's not something that would warrant taking the tree down at this time. He told me how to keep an eye on it, what the future probably holds in terms of a timeline, and also warned me about symptoms to look for of a hackberry blight that's currently affecting trees in SC. If the tree ever had to come down, he estimated the cost would be around $2,000, owing to the tree's size, its location in my backyard near power lines, etc. While that's considerably more than I expected, his explanation made sense. However, what I greatly appreciate is that he didn't try to "sell" me on taking down an otherwise healthy tree now. He certainly could have (after all, he's the expert), and could have made a quick $2,000. But he showed professionalism and integrity by giving me an honest evaluation. In doing so, if and when the tree (or other trees on my property) need attention, Sox and Freeman will be my first call. And it's the reason I'm writing a strong review here.

They forgot to send me the estimate at first, but after that things went very well. They did an excellent job trimming tall branches off the house without making the trees look scalped or deformed. They cleaned up so well I could hardly tell they had been there. I plan to use them again in the winter to trim some pine trees.

Let me just preface by saying that Chris Freeman was punctual, polite and professional when he came out to give me an estimate. Very pleasant experience at that point. The trouble came with the Rock Hill office that was supposed to do the actual work. Chris told me on Wed, March 25th when he came out to give me the estimate that he would have me put on the schedule to spray my trees for canker worms. He quoted me $160 for both my cherry and maple tree. He advised that I would receive an email confirmation that I was on the Rock Hill office's rotation to be sprayed in the next week or two. I waited until Friday the 27th to receive an email but got nothing, so I left a voicemail on Saturday just to make sure I was on the schedule. Spraying for canker worms is very time sensitive and I wanted to be sure they were coming. I received a text from the office on Monday the 30th indicating that Peter would be confirming with me that I was on the schedule and when he would be coming out. Fine, I waited again, still no word from Peter on Thursday April 2nd. I was clear in all my messages that I was beginning to see signs of the worms on the tree and needed someone to come out in the next week or so. After the text I sent on Thursday the 2nd, I received a voicemail from Peter saying he would be out to spray my Cherry tree that afternoon. I was quoted both trees, so I called him back just to confirm he would be spraying both. He proceeded to tell me I wasn't quoted both trees. I told him I had the quote Chris gave me right in front of me and it clearly states both trees. Then he told me it was too early to spray the Maple. So I said I was completely fine if they had to come out and do the Maple later, and he told me again I was not quoted a price for both trees. I said I was quoted for both trees and I did not think I should have to pay $160 each time they came out because that's not what the quote said. He just kept insisting that he had the quote, (even went so far as to act like he was pulling out of my file), and again said I was not quoted for both trees. I was still polite up until this point, all I wanted to make sure of was that I only had to pay the $160 for having both trees sprayed. He finally said "I will tell you what. We will come out and spray your trees twice, and that's the last service we'll be able to provide for you". At that point I just cancelled. Completely inappropriate behavior and terrible customer service. I have attached the photos of my quote that does in fact indicate that I was quoted for BOTH trees for $160.

They were outstanding. We had a good experience. They had very professional people and equipment. I would recommend them to anybody.

They were prompt and professional. Left the yard and surrounding area better than when they arrived. Will definitely use these guys again!

They were so professional, unlike a previous tree trimming company who did damage to my property. Nothing drops to the ground. They lower everything with ropes set up as a pulley system.

In early September, Cox and Freeman sent a representative to discuss what I wanted to have done. We spent about 45 minutes discussing the job and then he prepared an estimate on the job. Based on recommendations from another arborist and their write-ups on Angie's List, I made an appointment to have the work done. Since the job involved a lot of pruning of live trees as well as removal of three trees, I elected to wait until their best pruning crew was available, around 6 weeks. A couple of days prior to the agreed upon date, the Cox and Freeman representative called to reconfirm the appointment. The crew of three showed up promptly as scheduled, and completed the work in two full days of work. The removal and pruning work was done with great care and respect for surrounding landscaping and the crew removed all debris and cuttings each day prior to leaving the site. We were very pleased with the entire process and the results; and feel that we got good value for our money.

The entire job, from Scheduling to Completion was Outstanding, and everyone did exactly what they said they would. The 3-man Crew that took the tree out, and the man who ground the stump, were very hard working, Professional men. We highly recommend Sox and Freeman!

They showed up right on time. The dead tree is in an area with azaleas that are over 35 years old. They took great measures to keep from damaging them and the surrounding grass area as well. They worked efficiently and the job took no longer than an hour. They did an excellent job of cleaning the area as well, They were professional and courteous. I got another bid and they were the least expensive. This is the second time I have done business with them and would most certainly use them again. Their price was the lowest of the two I got and doubt if I will bother getting bids when another job comes up.

I was pleased with the service. We had used the company in the past and they have always done an extremely great job. They are very prompt and efficient workers. They consult with me before they cut the trees. They are very professional and scheduling is very easy.
