Southern Contracting Services and its owner/ handyman/"contractor" provided horrible service in my mother's home over the span of 4 weeks starting on 6/6/11. The 'contractor' provided a FAKE License # and assured me he had a license and would provide a copy, he never did. Unfortunately, I took his word and continued with the project a basic bath remodel. The project was supposed to be done within a week, but he kept moving the completion date due to his mistakes. He measured the shower wrong, then ordered 3 different size showers, 'hoping' it would fit! Finally, he figured that ordering a custom size would be best. This took another week. After the shower incident, the newly installed toliet started to back up with water. SO, my mother had to call a plumber, which cost an extra 150.00 to REMOVE THE TILE that got down in the line from the demolition!!!! We were blessed that the toliet didn't overflow and cause extensive water damage! He promises FAST and PROFESSIONAL work, none of what I experienced. The project took way too long to complete which were mainly due to his mistakes and the frequent lies. As for professional, he was far from it. There were days he was supposed to show (he told me he was coming) and never showed or called me. I had to call him and find out why he didn't show . On the date of completion 7/5/11, there were several things not done, unfortunately, I decided to pay him rather than continuing on with the frustration and headache. I also provided a detailed list of charges and deduction and what I paid him (with dates).He got upset, claiming there was a 300.00 difference of which he did not provide any receipts of this alleged 300.00 charge. I received RACIST, THREATENING PHONE CALLS at my HOME to my family, after he TOOK the last CHECK payment. I strongly recommend you take in consideration my experience and take heed to this warning .... If it sounds too good to be true IT IS...do the research and go with a reputable company, even if its a little more. Also NEVER give more than half upfront (thankfully I didn't), and if it doesn't sound right get another opinion...
