The rent payments from our tenant, through Salters, were routinely late. When we called Salters to see what happened, nobody could answer the why? question, but we were promised a call back. That "promise," and at least 12 more during the year we used them, were never honored. I called to try to speak to the owner to complain, but it seems he doesn't take calls. Eventually, I was able to locate an email for him. I let him know about the trouble we were having. He never replied, but we did get a phone call from one of several people calling themselves "office managers." They provided excuse after excuse about how the tenant's check had actually been deposited in mom's account (then where's our money?), or the check had not yet been received from the tenant (valid excuse, but I expect the company to take the time to tell me the tenant is late, so I'm not waiting for the check), or that the office manager will hand carry the deposit to mom's bank and make a "counter deposit" (we heard this at least three times...once "it was raining", so she couldn't do it!), or that the electronic deposit that Salters said they made just didn't post (really? That's always worked in all my years of electronic banking.)...on and on and on with the never ending excuses. I wouldn't use Salters for anything. Not even if they paid ME to do THEIR job. It was a horrible experience. So glad the contract has run and we now have the property up for sale.
Description of Work: We needed a property manager for mom's patio home since all of us moved out of state. We contacted Salters and found them to be within the norm for fees charged. We had already found a tenant, so we used Salters to just collect the rent and be available in case of emergencies. We had no experience with any property managers, so we had little to go on when selecting a manager. They talked a good game in the beginning...

Bad to worse - bunch of CROOKS
Description of Work: Managed my NE Columbia property for past 2 year and have continued to misappriate funds from our account to advantage of the owner - Kieth Salters. NOW that we have ended the contract forever; they have fraudulently stolen $400 in trumped up services and failed to reimbuse us $600 from tenant security deposit for reppairs of unit. Never give these ppeople any money in advance for you will never see it again !! NOW holding $800 of my escrow account and $800 from last Tennant deposit - ALL due to me to cover damages repaired of $1624 by local contractor to repair unit to standard BEFORE leasing through Salters.

WORST company in Columbia to rent from, we have never had issues like this previously. If we would have read the reviews before signing the lease, we would have never used this company. Don't be a fool like us and stay as far away from Salters as possible
Description of Work: Nearly impossible to get a simple phone call returned without harassing or calling multiple times. Simple maintenance orders are never processed quickly. Claims to be a "property management" company, but from what I could tell they only wanted to collect the rent money and sit back and do as little as possible. *Update- After many calls and frustrating arguments. Mrs Salters and Andrea worked with us to end our lease amicably; however the grade of F still stands. If you have to use this company, ask for Andrea....

Will never return phone calls from the Columbia office a prompt basis. Last time it took 7 messages to account reps Rhonda, Brihanna and the absentee owner, Shahonda Salters to get even one response !! 3 out of the last 4 months, they have used bank holidays as a reason to delay payment to us owners. NOW, they have even lost our file with original contract and failed to provide an accurate 1099 for tax purposes. ANYTHING other than deducting their 10% on a monthly basis is far over this office's level of expertise.
