+ 3 moreWe had some water-damaged laminate. My dish washer overflowed. The Home warrantee guy brought out a contractor friend. The guy kept asking questions about what was going on. So I took him upstairs and they were just starting to put in the dormers. The guy asked what my contractor was charging. The price he said was nowhere close to what Ruben was charging us. The addition upstairs was about 45,000 and he was estimating 90,000 to 100,000. Ruben does work for as low as he can and still make a certain percentage. I don?t think I would have gotten close the quality if I had gone with another contractor. I purposely didn?t have Ruben there when the inspector was at the house. He could tell by the little details that Ruben took extra steps and went the extra mile. I always asked the inspector about the quality of the work and he would say I had an awesome contractor.
Description of Work: Ruben has redone my whole house. We bought in October. My dad moved in with us, Ruben had done some work for the previous owners. He has a great personality; he’s done some sort of work for all of our neighbors. I told him what we wanted to do in the bonus room for my dad. I wanted to put in a whole apartment. The room wasn’t big enough to do everything. The attic had enough space and I asked if we could put up stairs and open it up. He took it home and looked it over. He made it work. He’s a meticulous architect and everything fit to the inch. We hired him to put the whole addition on and he did a beautiful job. He put in granite countertops, new floors, and carpeting. We also had new painters to come and fix the previous job. He’s put on a new deck. He’s remodeled our whole house.
