Precision Garage Door Service

Description of Work: inspected and greased garage door. recommended replacement of wheels since they were worn. I had him replace the wheels and they were more expensive than others I might have found, but I was told that this company was the only one that had these nylon wheels. I only had to pay for the wheels themselves and the labor was included in the cost for the tune-up.

Description of Work: The service itself was non-essential (garage door tune-up). If I would have had a clearer picture of what was involved I could have easily done it myself (no special tools or training required). Still, the technician was prompt, polite, and appeared competent. I might use the company for repair but I won't pay for a "tune-up" again since it is something I can do myself.

Description of Work: I purchased the garage door tune up for $39. The Precision Door Service repairman showed up this morning promtly at 8:00 AM. After arriving he immediately ask me if I wanted both my doors tuned up. I said of course & he then told me the Angie's list special only included one door & that the other door would be $49. He then took a few minutes looking at both garage doors & then informed me that do to the worn out parts on my doors the tune up would'nt do much good. He then suggested that I do their garage door overall & told me the price of that would be right at $1100. I told him no way & was very tempted to run him off. The repairman is in my garage working as I am typing this review. I decide to replace the springs in one door and the rollers on both doors. This alone is going to cost me around $400. Bottom line, don't buy this service I will be very hesitant in the future to use Angie's List recommended services. Not a happy customer.

Description of Work: I responded to a mailing of theirs for a "garage door tune-up" for 49.95 per door. My two-door garage has two doors for each car so I requested service on both. I had new garage door openers professionally installed last August (9 months ago), but the movement of opening/closing door is a little jittery, especially on one of the doors. I thought the tune up would take care of this. I used to do this type of "tune up" on my own years ago, but now don't having a problem paying $100 to have someone do it for me. I approved the work, and one of the doors is fine, but wasn't really a problem to begin with. The other door is unimproved. It still is jittery as it opens and closes. The company said I need new doors and left an estimate of $1,682.44 to replace the two single car garage doors. I feel like their $49.95 solicitation was just a way to get a foot in the door and hit me up with a recommendation to spend $1,682.44 for new doors. And they can't even do the math right. $49.95 x 2 = $99.90 and not the $99.99 they charged me. The total is not the issue. I just think they have another agenda.
