It was great working with this company. We felt they went beyond what was expected. The clean up was very well done. All the crew seemed to like working for this company and were proud of the job they were doing.

I called Randy and he promptly returned my call. He went out on the day he said he would and then emailed me an estimate. After reviewing all the estimates, i decided on Randy. I have to admit that one of the reasons I choose Randy was not only was his price good, but i have had him replace the roof on one of my other houses and he did such a good job that i wanted him to do this roof too. He and his crew came out bright and early the morning that he told me he would be able to replace the roof. He finished up in one day and everything looked great! Thanks so much Randy!

They were done so quickly I didn't get to meet Randy. I am watching aconcern closely, but Randy assures me if it is an issue, he'll make it write. More importantly, I believe that. Not something I've said about someone I never met before.

I called the company on the November 15, 2018 and spoke to a man about getting a quote for a roof replacement for a property in Sumter, SC. I explained that I am a property manager based out of Georgia. The owner of the of the property also lives in Georgia but is originally from South Carolina. I was told someone would come out in the next few days to do the quote and I would receive an email. I did not receive an email or a call back. I called again on the November 25th, 2018 explained everything again and they said they would come out in the next two days to do the quote. I did not receive an email or a call back. On December 5, 2018 I called again stating I still have not received any information about the quote. The same man that I had spoken each time says "Oh I know what happened. See you are a property management company in Georgia and the property is in Sumter. We feel like we aren't going to paid for the job." There was never any discussion about payment or actual services. I never even got a quote from this company so there is no reason to be concerned about payment if I haven't even began the conversation about wanting them to perform any services besides giving me a quote. Professionalism and customer service was absolutely horrible. If there was an issue with me being a property manager based out of GA then that should have been discussed the first or at least the second time we spoke. I shouldn't have been told they would give me quote and then they just never contacted me about anything.

Randy did a great job in a very short time His crew was great and the cleanup was perfect

Exceptional job. Could not have had a better experience or job.

Not impressed at all. He didn't seem interested in performing a job he felt "wasn't going to be worth much more than a deductible". With attitudes like that, I can guarantee when I do have a more expensive job he will not be the one I will contact. And... Living in a large neighborhood of homes priced at $600k and up that has a private FB page for recommendations, etc. he WILL NOT be the one I refer.

Talked to Randy Webb someone was supposed to get back with me that day (8/3) didn’t hear back from them until today (8/7). I was told they could possibly do that Friday or next day. Very unprofessional, would not use or recommend to others.

Randy was prompt for the estimate. His team was prompt with service (scheduled 5 days after we met for the estimate). They were quick in fixing the underlying sheathing, removing an obsolete chimney, and replacing the vent hubs/ridge vents. They cleaned up in the evening and finished in just two days. The roof looks great in the photos. Would definitely hire again.

The crew was professional. They certainly knew what they were doing. Kept to the original quote.

I phoned for a quote on 10/13 and was informed that someone would be by early that next week. After a no call/no show and a reschedule, which I initiated, someone came by a week and a half after my initial call. Once our property was assessed, I was told that he needed to "think about it" (meaning the job) and never heard anything back. This was a week ago. Unfortunately, I am unable to assess their quality of work, as we never got that far on the job.

Randy Webb and his crew were extremely efficient and professional. Randy's price estimate and final invoice didn't change and was fair. I recommend his services without reservation and will use him in future if need arises.

They were fantastic! They started when they said they would. The finished when they said they would. The sub-contractors on site were very professional and worked long hours to make sure they were done when promised. They did a thorough job of cleaning up after the job was complete. I could not have asked for a better contractor to do our roof.

Great job on new roof and stuck to original estimate even though job turned out to be more involved than expected

This is a long review, so if you don’t feel like reading it, here’s the bottom line: Read the other C, D, and F reviews. Learn from their and my experiences. Choose another roofer. (There is not one word in this review that is not 100% accurate and is all documented via texts.) If you look at Mr. Webb’s other reviews, you’ll see remarks like: “He went into a tirade…interrupted me…loud spiel…felt disrespected…would never give dates/times/etc. to make an appointment…said the estimate is only good for one day…quickly got frustrated…was unprofessional…was disinterested…said he’d be back the next day. 5 months and 10 phone calls later, he still hasn’t returned…been calling Mr. Webb for two months…will not come back and repair the damage…” …So as I leave this review, I’m glad to see that I am not alone. Mr. Webb did a complete roof replacement on my home for approximately $10,000.00. I proceeded to leave a great review for him, which has since been removed because I CANNOT get him to come back. We had a porch added to our home about a year and a half after the new roof was put on, and we needed shingles put on the new porch. The job also consisted of adding three roof vents for new bathroom fans. The guy who built the porch wanted to use his own roofer, but I told him that we wanted to use Mr. Webb since Mr. Webb and I had talked about his putting the shingles on the new porch. On January 5, 2017, I contacted Mr. Webb at the porch builder’s request and asked if we could please set an appointment for him to come do the porch shingles. It is now May 5, 2017, and I have never in this time been able to set an appointment with him. He literally will not give me a date and time that he can come. It’s been four months of “maybe’s” and “I’ll try’s.” Over these four months, I have reached out (via text mostly because he rarely answers the phone) a documented SIXTEEN times. I have been put off over and over again. He texted me an absolute untruth the other day in response to my asking yet again to get put on his schedule: “Every time you either say no or put me off.” This is untrue. And he knows it. And it’s all documented via text messages. At one point way back he told me on a Tuesday that he “might” be able to come Thursday, and I told him that would not work, not only because we would not be home but also because we had to coordinate with the HVAC people (at their request). I have repeatedly asked for a date and time to be set to meet, and he simple will NOT do that. He never has in four months. Not once. I was fed up fairly early on with this and wanted to use another roofer. He said that he would not warranty ANY of the roof if we used someone else. We were stunned that he would make such a claim (is this even legal?), but we felt that we had to stick with him because we wanted the roof warrantied. We had no choice but to wait and wait and wait and wait. At this point we were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Another time I asked him to let’s not worry about the bathroom vents and just focus on getting the porch roof done. He said no because wanted to do it all at once. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I noticed plaster coming off the wall in the dining room and several water lines in the plaster ceiling after a hard rain. I again contacted him to PLEASE come back. No response. Then when we were expecting major thunderstorms the following weekend, I asked again. No response. Then when the thunderstorms came, I noticed that not only was the dining room leaking, but so was the guest bedroom closet (figured that out when I opened the closet door and stood in a puddle of water). I called him and he then sent someone out to put a tarp on. But did he come back the next week and put the shingles on when I sent him a picture of the tarp that had nearly blown off and was hanging down all the way to the steps? No. Did he come back the week after that? No. Did he take responsibility for the leak? No. Instead, he blamed the leak on the guy who put the porch on. He said that he didn’t seal his nail holes well enough. I explained to him that it wasn’t meant to be a long-term seal or a substitution for shingles and that whatever the man had done over his nails had worked fine for nearly four months. Neither we nor the porch guy had any idea that this would have been dragged out for four months…or really forever. Beyond fed up and with hopes of saving our home from further damage, I asked just TWO days ago for an explanation of that statement about him refusing to warranty any of the roof if another roofer did the porch; he said not to worry about it and that if we wanted to use another roofer, we could. But we did not trust him and were fearful that we would have no warranty on our roof. Again, this conversation just happened two days ago…after wasting four months of time and energy…so the damage (in more ways than one) had already been already done. SO as a last-ditch effort, I let him know how upset I was, and he said that he would “try” to come yesterday. Did he? No. Of course not. Because it is clear to me now that Mr. Webb never had any intention of coming back. For four months we’ve done all but beg him (Wait. I think I did that, too) to please help us…to please let’s get a date and time set on a calendar. SIXTEEN times I tried to reach him because he told us that we had no choice but to use him or we would have no warranty. And sixteen times I was ignored or put off. If he didn’t want our business, why not just say so? Why continue to say he’d come and then not? Why waste his or our time? I’m sure I’ll be referred to as being “hot as a wet hen” or a “damsel in distress” or some other disparaging term that he uses in his responses to his negative feedback, but it’s a chance I’ll take so that others don’t get tangled up in the Palmetto Roofing web like others and I have. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel so strongly about this situation that I felt that I had to. Learn from others’ experience on this one.

Estimate was done as promised;estimate was not the highest nor the lowest I got; at a price point I was comfortable with. Roofing job went well, crew was punctual and cleaned up on a Saturday(couldn't tell they tore off a roof). Roof looks solid. Would recommend Palmetto Roofing Contractors to my friends and family.

It went great! Randy came over and gave me an estimate. Not being knowledgeable about roofing in general, Randy was very patient and explained everything that i asked him about. I was pretty sure that i would need plywood replaced underneath and he gave me a price of how much it would be for each piece of plywood. He came over on the day that he said he would and was finished that evening. I had asked him to give me pictures of every area that he had to replace of repair and he did exactly as i asked and a little more. He didn't ask for a dime until all work had been finished and approved. I was very pleased with the whole process and will definitely use his company again. Thanks so much Randy

Can't say enough good things about Randy West, Palmetto Roofing and the entire crew. Price was competitive, materials used were the best quality and work was excellent. Crew was here on time, worked quickly with attention to all the details including superb clean up. Randy made sure everything was perfect. Getting a new roof is a hassle, but Randy made it easy. Way to go Palmetto Roofing--you get my vote and five star approval!

Mr. Webb and his team came out within two days of my call to replace my roof after damage from Hurricane Matthew. They were prompt, efficient, and within $100 of my original estimate from my insurance company. Their clean up afterwards was amazing. My yard was cleaner when they left than when they got there! I chose not to put an approximate cost of service because I believe, that is between you and the contractor, the size of your home, and job to be performed, they differ greatly. He gave me a very fair price.

when i called to ask if i may receive an estimate, the man went into a tirade; stating; ' if you're looking for the cheapest price you can get, it's not gone' be me !'.. I brought to his attention that" i called to get an estimate on a new roof; but if he was too busy"... he interrupted me with a continued loud spiel about how he "wouldn't trust anyone who is not busy now" . .I felt(as a black female),or for whatever preconceived reason, he had prejudged my intentions & ability to pay for the work; I felt very disrespected. The reason i am a member of Angie's List is to try and avoid such treatment.

My situation is somewhat unique in that I don't live in SC anymore, but had been staying with my elderly mother for the past 6 weeks to help her recover from cancer surgery when the hurricane struck. After the storm passed, the work of assessing the damage began. I needed help, reliable help, fast! And that's why I turned to Angie's List. Just knowing that real people review real companies and real jobs by those companies was exactly what I needed. So, I read some reviews and called Palmetto Roofing Contractors. Not only did Randy Webb answer the phone (a big plus in my book), he was promptly at my mother's house the next day to assess, measure, and give an appraisal. Randy is personable, courteous and professional. His team was here at the break of dawn exactly when he said they would be, they worked straight through the day and finished the job about an hour before sundown. They were very attentive to detail in the quality of the type of shingles, the addition of a ridge vent, the quality of a finished look, and the quality of their cleanup! An outstanding experience completely! I highly recommend Randy Webb and Palmetto Roofing Contractors for anyone who is looking for excellent work from an honest company. Personally, I value quality of work and quality of character. I want to know when I hire someone that they will stand by their word - Randy Webb is that guy! Randy and company showed up on Friday and worked 'til dark removing the old roof and applying new shingles to 1/2 the house. Came back the next day (Saturday) to finish the job. Completed the job around supper time. Randy's crew was impressive and didn't waste any time. They did break 1 sprinkler head in the flower bed. He offered to replace but I said not to worry since it's only a $1.50 part and I have a spare. Cleanup was very thorough. They ran a magnet over the yard several times to pick up loose nails. It's impossible to pick up every fallen nail from a job this size, but they did a good job. All the paper and debris was removed, flag poles were re-installed, and furniture was returned to its original position. I have 2 dogs in the back yard and the guys were impressive around them. I felt bad for one guy that had all the sweat licked off his hands while hand-picking all the nails and debris from the yard. My only complaint is that the work was done on a Saturday. I know that's just how it fell in the schedule with the rainy weather we've had. But it forced me to keep the kids inside on what turned into a beautiful day. But now I have a new roof and, hopefully, no more leaks.

I met with roofers and they replaced the ridge vent and most of boots on 10/17. However, they missed one of the boots that was scheduled to be replaced. I contacted the owner and they finished replacing the last boot on 10/27/15. Everything looks good.

Outstanding workmanship and service was provided through the entire process. Both Randy and his team were professional and punctual. I was amazed at how efficient his team was. The flashing work exceeded expectations and the clean up was outstanding. I will use this company again if I ever find myself in need again. Thanks Randy

Randy and his crew did a great job replacing our roof. They came promptly when they said they would and did an outstanding job. He gave detailed description as to what they would do and followed through with every single little detail. His crew was very professional and courteous. They covered all surrounding plants and equipment as well as moved items away from the house to protect them from possible damage. The cleanup was fantastic. They left our home/yard cleaner better than they found it. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to talk to Randy and give him an opportunity. I feel that you would be very pleased with the results and the experience with a "down to earth", honest and very professional fellow.
