Installers were supposed to come in the morning by 9-10 am. I took the day off from work in hopes I could run errands in the afternoon as this was not going to take very long - several hours, but not whole day. By 10 am -no call, no show. I called and receptionist told me that they are still getting things ready and will be there in a little bit. They did not show up until 1:30 pm - a group of 3 young men. They removed old counter top in no time, removed raised bar with no issues to make our bar into just a one level island. So far so good. Then install of the remaining counter top was not going as well. The floors are a bit unleveled in the house and there are large gaps between the granite and the cabinets - enough to stick a finger through. So they shimmed them up. I was told it could be easily fixed by a small shoe molding. Ok.... Then, once they were finished they left super quickly. We didn't even get a chance to do a full walk through as they were saying they were late for another install, this is right around 6 pm. Once they left I noticed a line at the sink. Well, they cracked the granite and used a WRONG colored filler to join it back together. Its peach colored, and there is NO peach in the granite - granite was white/tan/brown/black. Tan should have been used, but never PEACH. Once they cracked the granite - they should have alerted us and asked if we wanted a new piece - well, they did not do that!! They tried to hide it and be sly about that happening during the install. We immediately called Peter who came out and said he will have to come back and fix. This was in April 2015. We have been calling him ever since, leaving messages, every once in a while he calls back and says he will come on such and such date - 8 months!!!! But has stood us up each and every time! It does not look good, and I am afraid it compromises the granite and its wear/tear since the break is at the corner of the sink. The seam is 1/4" in some areas.
I am thoroughly disappointed in his service, his lever of workmanship, and professionalism. DO NOT USE!!!!!
If you are looking for quality - this is NOT your guy.
I called Marble and Granite design and they admitted the hose was defective. I asked for a refund for the European faucet and they refused. I asked to speak to Peter because the office workers were extremely rude and yelling they would not give any refunds. I never heard back from Peter and contacted the Better Business Bureau.
The tile is what is so disappointing. When it was first installed it appeared to be perfect. I was very pleased; however, as months went by the grout that was used between the tile and the granite began to break away. I finally called the owner to notify him. The tile supposedly came with a two year warranty. I first left a message explaining the situation. A few weeks went by and did not hear back. I called again and spoke with the owner, Peter. I explained what was going on. He states, "We did the tile, we should fix it." He promised to call me the next day to set up a time to come over. Again, several weeks went by and I never heard from him. I then call back and spoke with the receptionist, and she said she would give him the message to call me. Again, several weeks went by and never heard a thing. I finally call there again for the fourth time. I spoke with the receptionist again, and told her of my experience. She apologized and scheduled a time for Peter, the owner, to come and take a look at the tile.
The day that Peter was to come and look at the tile, he called me and apologized that he was running late. Asked me what the problem was with the tile. I explained again, and he actually chuckled into the phone and stated that grout and granite don't really like to be next to each other.
I know that I am not the only person that has tile backsplash touching the granite. Why Peter decided to use grout as oppose to caulk or something else, I do not know. Needless to say, Peter never did call me back nor did he ever come by to see the grout lines. I have actually decided that I don't trust him to fix it properly since he knowingly installed it incorrectly. My only hope is to save others from having this frustrating experience.
