We hired Lumber liquidators contractors for the installation of our Bamboo floors in our main living areas downstairs. (approximately 850 sq feet) The contractor came out on a monday and began installing the bamboo floors using a special glue. After 5 hours, it was apparent that the installer was inexperienced and had ruined the new floors. There was glue everywhere, and the boards of flooring had not been pushed together. Glue was oozing out between the boards and there was spilled glue everywhere! Since we had previously been warned that the glue would not come off, so we needed to be careful, we knew it was a bad situation!! Immediate contact to the company happened at 6:00 that night, and the game began! Our begging the company to come assess the floors and fix the them went on for days. After 4 days an Appointment was made for new installers to come out and assess the damage, but they cancelled 15 minutes before apt time. A new appointment was made for Monday at 1:30, but they didn't show up. Hundreds of calls were made to Lumber Liquidators, trying to contact the actual installation company - Omni Installations. But both companies were negligent and would either not return calls or respond with any information to help. Lizzy works for Lumber Liquidators and she basically couldn't do anything but pass information to the "guys who mattered". However, no information ever got sent to them according to the installers. (it did, but they blamed her!) After 8 days, hundreds of calls, and 2 no show appointments, we finally made contact with Tom from Omni Liquidators. We were told that we would be responsible to pay for an installer to come out and pull up the ruined floors, and also responsible to pay for more floors that would be needed to replace the ruined ones!! They also couldn't come out for another week. So that would be 2 weeks with partial glued floors and partial subflooring exposed, and glue everywhere! The house was a completely unlivable, disaster zone. To top this off, I have 3 children, once of which has a bad reaction to the dust and such from the flooring. His asthma was affected, and even though we constantly asked them to tell us when they could finish the work, they didn't care! So they took money for the install, but never installed my floors! They had horrific service, and extremely rude staff who blamed us for their bad work - Saying it was our fault that we didn't like the glue on the floors!! Completely INSANE!! They could never find anyone to install, assess or help us out, and when we asked for the same guy who installed them to come take them back up, they replied that it would make him feel uncomfortable!! SO they could care less about the fact that they stole our money and were making us live in a hotel, but didn't want to make an installer feel badly because he ruined our floors! Worse installation company ever!! Since Lumber Liquidators in Columbia uses this installation company, it should be their job to also assure the work is done correctly. Omni Installations and Lumber Liquidators should be required to not only fix the floors, but reimburse the cost to live outside of the house. The agreement to have the floors installed in 3 days was not completed, and the money for the floors was not reimbursed!
Description of Work: Lumber Liquidators uses Omni Installations to put in their flooring. Omni Installations is a horrific company that is poorly run, and shows no care for their clients. They do horrific installation work, and refuse to fix it if they make mistakes. They also took my money and then refused to fix their mistakes without us paying them even more to do the work! Their customer service is insane! We waited for days, dealt with "no show" appointments, and apparently no one there knows who does what! To say they are Unorganized is being nice. It is the most unprofessional business I have ever encountered! DO NOT do business with them!

I was attracted to Lumber Liquidators by the price and the TV advertising. The desire to get something at a greatly reduced price lures do it yourselfers and others using an installer to this store to save a bundle of money. The prices are truly outstanding. The product in the store looks good for the most part. After a lot of research my conclusion was that this store should set off your BS indicator and a purchase here will not likely end in saving money or a quality job. My research consisted of reading hundreds of reviews, talking to several professional installers and my own observations. | |Besides the numerous complaints of post sales non performance, over promising on product quality, poorly trained sales people, and worthless warranty, the biggest issue for me was the many reports of milling errors which rendered a quality installation by a do it yourselfer nearly impossible. | |My research found that LL was once a relatively unknown operation where a handy person could get excellent bargains and good quality. About 10 years or so ago, the operation morphed into a TV commercial driven too good to be true proposition with all the problems of a company that grew too large too quick and the resulting problems of loss of quality control, etc. | |There may be some individual LL stores which provide quality, but apparently this is rare. So, I recommend you use one of the many excellent flooring stores of professional installers for your hardwood needs.

Everything went as planned. I was able to pick out my flooring, it was overly received in a timely manner and once I got involved with their Installation Department everything went really smoothly there as well. And just that the time I needed to have it done, they were able to schedule it and get it done without any delays.

I had kept one piece of the old flooring, knowing we would one day get rid of the carpet throghout the house. I took the small piece in to Lumber Liquidators and they were able to match it perfectly. We were able to purchase all the subflooring, barrier protection and everything else needed for the job. They provided us with a list of several people they recommend to install their flooring. We were very impressed with their order and detail to make sure the installers would have everything needed. After the floors were completed, we had an unopened box of flooring left. They were kind and pleased to take it back and refund our money for the unopened box. LL, Inc. has the best prices and when purchasing, their sales cannot be beat. Yes we would definitely use them again and were very pleased with their work.

I've been using Lumber Liquidators for about 5 years now. I've purchased about $3,000-$4,000 with them on their Old World oak handscraped 3/4and quot; hardwood flooring. I had never done flooring before so the Internet provided the needed knowledge and the staff at Lumber Liquidators was helpful in offering tips and suggestions as well. I only recently purchased a floor nailer from them; they didn't used to sell tools like that. The nailer was receiving the highest reviews I had ever seen with countless comments of about 28 different owners. After using it, I could see why and also posted a positive review. The nailer I bought didn't require a proprietary nail. So, I could use the nails I already had. Plus, the prices of the nailers and nails were very, very good. Over the years, I have completed our living room, hallway, dining room, and main foyer. And, of course, my wife now wants to replace the floor in the kitchen and wants the other foyer done as well. Every now and then, a board in a box is flawed but not enough of a quantity issue to be concerned with. I've been able to order and pay for my wood online and perform the local pickup when it arrives (I get an email notice). Sometimes they have the type of wood I ordered in stock; I just call and ck. They're always professional. I also like they're open 7 days a week.
