Description of Work: We engaged Gentlemen movers to move a large, heavy piece of furniture to our garage and then move furniture from inside our home to a storage unit. The team showed up on time and introduced themselves straight away. We went over what the job entailed and they got to work immediately. It was pouring rain that day yet the team kept their cheery outlook and the furniture stayed dry. And everything was said and done in less than 2 hours!

Description of Work: Gentlemen Movers moved one room of furniture from an apartment to our house, about nine miles. They were quick but safe in their moving and did a great job of setting up the bedroom set in its new location. They also took a couple of old pieces away (to Goodwill). The charge was slightly higher than the Angie's List special because the 2 hours of time I purchased included the time it took them to drive from across town (where their office is located). They treated our furniture carefully and I would use them again.

Description of Work: I paid 520.00 for 4 hours. They charged me for drive time to and from there office and then charged me 75.00 to move my refridgerator, stating it was an oversized item. My fridge is 22.7 cubic feet. So I got 2.4 hours of moving for 520.00. They should tell you all of this up front. If you cannot put your bed frames together or hook up your washer and dryer, you can pay them 130.00 an hour and they will be happy to help. They were polite and careful but not very fast.

Description of Work: I scheduled to be moved on Wednesday, August 6th. The team arrived on time and prepared to do the work. If I am not mistaken, the team consisted of Kelvin, Joey and Alan. They were very professional and upon reviewing the items to be moved, went to work. Their process was near perfection. They handled my furniture with care and respect. They were working so well together, I just stood back and watched. If they had any questions, they asked and continued to work. I was impressed at their communication skills as well. They were all very polite and I enjoyed verbally interacting with them. I would recommend this team of young men to anyone that is looking to have a mover assist them. I was extremely satisfied with them and your organization. Again, thank you for making me feel like a valued customer.

Description of Work: Gave me a quote they later changed then did not return my calls. Charged me for the hour they had lunch they we provided. Said that my weights would not warrant a "large item charge" then charged for a large item. Did not put the weight machine back together. Borrowed my iPhone car charger and did not return it. Owner did not respond when I asked if I could get my charger back.

Description of Work: Had a difficult back-to-back closing that got delayed by 2 days at the last minute. Given circumstances, team was very accommodating to schedule, but we paid for it. No upfront walkthrough. No upfront damage inspection sheet filled out. Final bill was 2x expected. They got the moving dates wrong. Luckily we found out when I called to confirm just 2 days before. Stressed ! Charged extra for a fridge that only weighed at most 150 lbs. that the 10year old neighbor kid and I could have moved ourselves…..and then dented it…(no refunds). Timekeeping records and itemized charges were nearly illegible. Charged us for boxes that were confirmed twice to be included at no cost…(no refunds). Grandfather clock did arrive in perfect condition. ----Bottom line: they are accommodating, but get everything in writing up front----

They were polite, respectful and professional in every way. We will always use this company for moves. The price was fair and the final amount was right on the estimate.

+ -1 moreThe two main movers were very hard workers, the owner did the actual stacking in the truck and it ended up looking like a mess back there. The movers on the other end mentioned more than once that it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. But in the end nothing was broken and the services were rendered without issue.

+ -1 moreThey were on time getting to Charleston and did a good job loading with 3 guys. Very courteous and professional. My daughter's new place in Columbia is on the third floor and there is no elevator. It also is in a corner so not very easy access. When they got to Columbia, one of the guys went home sick so they started unloading with only 2 guys. It was hot. After 2 hours with minimal progress, 2 other guys came and they finished. I think they did a good job. My only complaint is that they estimated the job at $600 - $700 and the final bill was $1200. I even think the $1200 was a fair price for the job done. They just did a poor job of estimating. Given that there was 4 hours travel time plus loading and unloading and the estimate is based on an hourly rate, we thought the estimate was low. But the final bill being double the estimate was a surprise and a hit to my daughter's budget.

Description of Work: This company moved us across town (house to apartment in Lexington, SC), put everything where we wanted it, and carefully loaded our new storage unit with the excess. I don't think you could even get a Coke bottle more in that unit-they somehow managed to get everything in there. The men were efficient, cheerful, friendly, polite, and hard-working. They did an excellent job and we were very pleased. This move was in late November 2007.
