Finishing Touch Unfauxgettable

Columbia Electric referred Finishing Touch to me. The electrician accidentally slipped on a joist in the attic and put his knee through the ceiling on a Monday. It was not until the following Wednesday Finishing Touch was able to get a gentleman out to make the repair. Once I was on the schedule, he was right on time (both times). Although he patched it, he did not patch it far enough and a hairline crack still runs in the ceiling (see picture). I also had to request he mud over the whole patch as it left a dip when a straight edge was placed next to it. The one gentleman said that you usually have dips in patches. Frankly, you don't when you know what you are doing. While he was here I arranged with the owner, Russ, to do some sanding and mudding on the walls, which I had already begun (I wanted to save myself some time on the bathroom renovation). I had to request his return because he failed to sand some areas and never mudded others that he had sanded. He did not dispose of the waste from the patch repair, but laid the broken pieces of drywall on the carpeted floor at the top of the steps in a pile (about a buckets worth). Granted, there were some unused parts of drywall sheets, but I found this unprofessional. He used a drop cloth, but after sanding he also failed to vacuum/sweep the dust from sanding and left it for me to clean. Overall, I feel I was an inconvenience for Finishing Touch and they were forced into this job due to their relationship with my electrician, and the effort to get me out of the way greatly impacted the quality of their work. In fact, the second time they were here I was not aware they had left (I was on the back porch). I heard their vehicles start and they were gone.

It went great as always. This is the third or fourth time we've had Russ Marchese and his crew paint for us. They always go above and beyond what we expect from them. Russ helped me choose colors for my upstairs bathroom and my front door when I couldn't figure out what was best. Our front door is now a smashing blue/green to match our porch floor. I love it!

Fantastic. I wasn't there at all-- I trusted them to be in the house without me. The lead painter sent me pictures of a room we did a crazy color in. He was great to be in touch with-- the owner was a little slow on emails but was great making a phone call.

The work was expertly and professionally done. We are so pleased with the quality of work and the prompt service, we are expecting to hire this company for future painting projects within our home. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a reliable and proficient contractor to get the work done with exceptional attention to detail.

These folks are AWESOME! From the initial estimate to the completion of the job, they were consummate professionals. No unexpected surprises between the estimate and the final bill. The project was started within the week of the estimate. The employees are hard workers that clean up after themselves at the end of each day. The job should have taken an estimated 4 days and they finished in 3 with not even taking a break (to include lunch) on the last day to complete the job quickly. The employees show up on time and are ready to go to work and get the job done right. Great work product! I am thrilled with this company and I am going to have them back to paint and do some additional work at my home. I highly recommend this group!

These employees were very professional and conscientious in all they did. They even did extra things when asked, that they didn't have to do. They took off ten door knobs and put new ones on to go with the beautiful varnish doors. I will hire them again to paint my garage. My home looks like a new house inside. I love it.

Russ Marchese, Sr came to the home to provide a free estimate. He came back again to help us choose colors that would create a warm feel and consistent flow through the house. He was available throughout the project to provide assistance as needed. He is extremely friendly and knowledgable. The crew, lead by Winston, arrived promptly each morning. The team was exceptionally friendly and personable- we enjoyed interacting with them each day. They cleaned up daily and thoroughly cleaned the floors at the completion of the project. The workmanship and professionalism are outstanding! We could not be more thrilled with the result. We will use them again for future projects, and would highly recommend them to others.

We contacted Russ in August for an estimate, unfortunately he was unavailable due to ongoing commitments. We contacted two other companies (both on Angie's List). We were uncomfortable with one company, but did accept the estimate from the other. After we agreed upon the price and approximate start of work date, we never heard from the company again. We decided to go back and wait for Russ (we are previous customers). Russ Jr. came to our home gave us a reasonable estimate and time to complete. We were going out of town on family business - he adjusted his schedule to accommodate us. We were thrilled with the results of the job. We had two ceilings, staircase railings and most of our front porch and entry door repaired and painted. As in the past, we are extremely satisfied with our results. We will wait no these guys for ALL our painting projects.

My wife and I purchased a house in South Carolina in need of an interior paint job; however, we were living in Texas, and we were facing a tight time frame between closing and moving our possessions into the house. We found Finishing Touch on Angie's List (What a blessing!). Moving is stressful, and Russ (the owner) and his team showed up when we needed them most. They do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it. Russ was responsive, articulate, and helpful throughout all phases of the project (quote to completion). He even worked with my wife to choose a colors best suited for our family! Russ learned about our tight time frame and made certain that his crew would be available to complete the job ahead of schedule. Russ and his team are true professionals! I would recommend Finishing Touch to any family member or friend. They are one of the good guys.

The owner was able to fit our project in during a very busy time for his company, enabling us to have our home interior freshly painted for Christmas. The crew was not the same every day, but it didn't matter. The employees and crew leaders were all extremely friendly to my young children (very important to me) and myself and husband and did an extremely professional job. Everyone that visits our home is amazed at the way they were able to do SUCH a professional job that turned our home from looking like the 1980s to an updated modern home. We are so happy with the service and would use Russ and his team again in an instant.

Over all they did a good job. Alot of touch up after they went home. You need to set back and take a good look at the paint job before you let them leave. Than you can see the whole picture. Cleaned up after themselves. I would give them a B for the job overall. Nice people to work with. Came on time and got right to work. I would use then again if needed.

Very professional job from estimate visit to final tweak. Went the extra mile to make the old look new. Owner and crew were all great to work with. Communication was excellent so I wasn't kept waiting on painters to show up. Worked well and in conjunction with other companies providing services.Followed a sample cabinet color I provided to a tee. Very pleased with outcome.

Crew showed up early as scheduled and ready to go. They removed all of the places in the ceiling in our attic room that were damaged, repaired the ceiling and re- popcorned it, then they repainted it. Next they repainted all of the walls in the room and down the stairway. In the half bath they sanded and repaired holes/blemishes in the wall and then repainted the entire bathroom right down to the baseboards. They were reinstalling the switch plates around 3:00 PM in the afternoon.

First, I want to say that I have never worked with such a professional, accommodating, and perfectionist group before working with Russ, Russ Jr and their crew! I cannot say enough good things about them. We had them paint before we moved into our home, but were out of town during that time. They not only stuck to original quote, finished in 1/2 the time quoted, but they also arranged their schedule to be there during a furniture delivery that we could not be there to accept...they did not have to do this for us, but went a long way in my book. The owner, Russ, came out to the house, helped us narrow down our choices of color, gave us ideas, and never pushed us to do more than we were ready to do. He then came back Out, after the job was completed and we returned, to make sure we were 100% satisfied. I will use them every.single.time I need something painted and I will refer them to anyone looking. I know they will not disappoint.!!!

I was so impressed with Russ's crew from start to finish. Russ came out and did the quote, which I felt was quite reasonable considering that I had wallpaper on lots of the walls, crown moulding that needed to be painted, and a very high ceiling in the foyer. His crew was there every morning at the time stated and conducted themselves very professionally. At the end of each day, my house was completely cleaned up with no mess left in any of the rooms. I went through all the rooms the last night and found just a few tiny issues, which I pointed out to Russ the next morning. It turns out his crew was aware of the few issues I pointed out and had already planned on fixing them before they left on that last day. I would recommend Russ and his crew to anyone who wants a fabulous paint job from a very professional company.

They were very prompt in returning my call and getting my job started. The job took a little bit longer than estimated but the quality of the work was very good. There was just one minor area that they could improve on, that is when they moved my furniture, they did not put it back, they could not remember from where they moved the stuff from and they put it back in the approximate place, then I ended up having to rearrange it like having the book shelf where it needed it to be. They did leave a little bit of paint on my bath tub, on my ironing board and had a small bit on my linoleum in my laundry room. They were very courteous and very prompt. They were kind of expensive.

Excellent painting, and I am very particular. The service was performed promptly and the painters were neat and precise. Wish I had use for the textured painting products the company offers. Will use again and have passed their name on to friends.

Of the three companies which we contacted, one said they would call back and never did, one made an appointment to give us a quote, but did not show up for the appointment. Russ was a real professional from start to finish. He called back like he said he would and was on-time for the appointment to give us a quote; the job was started and finished exactly as he stated. We felt that the popcorn ceiling in our large master bedroom, walk-in closet and bathroom had deteriorated and needed to be removed. Our idea was to have the "popcorn" removed and replace it with a smooth-finish ceiling. Russ very expertly pointed out that to do such a job would cost us somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500 to $2000. He suggested that we could "restore" the ceilings simply by having them painted for $650. Russ is a "value-added" contractor in that he readily suggested he could smooth out a damaged area on the bedroom wall,repaint the (non-textured) ceiling of the enclosed shower area of the bathroom, and several other miscellaneous repairs at no additional charge. The work was performed expertly and efficiently by Russ and his employees. This was the best experience I have ever had with any contractor in the building trades. Truly professional.

The team of painters were timely, polite, professional and very quick and helpful. You could tell they all got along and enjoyed what they were doing. The team of painters arrived on time and ready to work. My deck and porch had weathered under the hot sun and had deteriorated quickly. The guys got right to work first powerwashing the large back deck and the front porch. After the deck dried they stained and clear coated the deck and painted the front porch in a beautiful green gloss. They let the decks dry for a couple of days and came back and replaced my furniture. I had also recently bought a new front door that was white and they painted it a beautiful black for me. I am now ready for Fall and ready to decorate. Thank you Finishing Touch.

We got an estimate from Mr. Marchese. We had removed wallpaper, and it left a lot of damage on the walls. Mr. Marchese spent a lgood amount of time asking questions and giving me ideas to see what I was looking for. We ended up doing the painting ourselves. However, i will definitely seek out his services when we remodel our next wallpapered room. He was very professional, knowledgeaable, and creative. He also came highly recommended to us.

Russ returned my call promptly, scheduled an appointment to review scope of work. He was on time for the appointment and mades several good suggestions to improved the look of the interior. He emailed the estimate that evening. Russ also followed up several days later. They were not the lowest bid nor the highest; but we felt very comfortable with Russ and gave him the job.Russ came out ond again went over the job with us and the crew. The crew was great, they were meticous about all phase of the work. The were prompt on the job ecery day for a week and redid several areas that did not meet Russ's standards. The finished on time. It was a supurb job by an awsome crew.

We called Russell and his team after a "handyman" had botched the job. He came out to the house within 24 hours and walked through the rooms with us giving his expert opinion as well as several options and suggestions regarding how to proceed. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable which put as ease right away. He made great use of technology using his tablet to take lots of pictures of our current situation and showing us other, similar work he and his company had completed. We emailed him with the options we chose and received a detailed quote back from him within the week. Work began very quickly by his team of professionals. They did a great job of area preparation - fixing imperfections in the dry wall, re-pairing damaged areas of the ceilings, etc. What was remarkable to us was how much attention was paid to minimizing dirt, dust and debris during the entire process. They isolated each area they were working on using floor to ceiling plastic sheets. Russell came out several times to inspect things and ensure that we were pleased with how things were progressing. He had some of his men return for some re-work to ensure that things were up to his standards and exactly as we wanted them. The final result exceeded our expectations.

I am so AMAZED and so pleased! I cannot say enough nice things about Russ and his company. The garage doors look like 4000.00 solid wood doors! Besides being amazingly talented, he was on time, professional, has trustworthy employees, always returned calls, and honored our agreed upon price even though a couple extra visits were needed due to weather. He then went on to touch up and glaze my real wood house doors and they look better than they ever have! I cannot wait to bring him back this summer to glaze my kitchen cabinets. I highly recommend Finishing Touch! My experience was a complete pleasure and from now on I won't use anyone else for my home. I am now a loyal customer of Finishing Touch.
