I have been trying to get my dishwasher repaired for over 3 weeks in my brand new home. Keep getting the run around. Had a scheduled appointment for the repair and was told they were to booked up to do the repairs. Made phone calls to them but no calls back to me.

The technician arrived promptly and quickly repaired my dishwasher. He was very professional and the price was very unreasonable. I was shocked by how easy it was to deal with Cunningham Appliance! I will definitely call them for future issues.

We called on a Saturday when our door broke. We were told someone would come Monday. We were ok with that since it was a weekend. On Monday the guy came after 5 and “needed something to get the bolt out” and left. We got no calls Tuesday. We waited all afternoon. Wednesday the guy comes back at 545 and what he needed didn’t work. Thursday no calls. My husband called and was told the guy had proper drill bit. No one came. Friday afternoon I called and the man was rude on phone. Spoke down to me. I requested someone bring back a part from my refrigerator that was taken so we could get it fixed. Was told he would be there Saturday. The doo is now not shutting correctly. Magnetic strip not connecting. I will never contact them again and would recommend others do so as well. Update: My husband received a call from the company. I was accused of being racist. Below are proof of the shoddy work. The refrigerator has a screwdriver holding it closed because it will not seal. It’s uneven. Magnet doesn’t touch now. FYI I was never present during any visit. My reviews are based on the way I was treated over the phone, how long it took, lack of communication from the company and the work I’ve shown below.

James showed up late, barged in without introducing himself and very rude. Blamed broken dishwasher on Lowes installer before opening dishwasher panel. I got the installer on the phone per his request and then he refused to talk to him. Then, he refused to fix. When I tried to ask questions, he belittled me and would not let me talk. He left (leaving my door open) and jumped in his van, slamming doors, and left! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They treat women horribly!

I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company than Cunningham. James Cunningham and Tony, the on-call repairman, are two of the most disagreeable, discourteous, self-centered individuals I've had the displeasure to speak with. Cunningham was scheduled through my Electrolux Service Agreement. On a Wednesday, James Cunningham was scheduled to come to my house on Friday morning 8-12, he called Thursday night at 7:30 telling me he'd not be there until 12-5. I'd rearranged my day to accommodate the earlier appointment. He could have cared less, "I'll be there by 5." He arrived at 4:20. Wasted the day, couldn't fix the washer, said it needed a part on backorder, couldn't tell me when it would be in, couldn't tell me how long to make a guess. His nonchalant answer was, "We'll just wait for their call." My washer is full of wet clothes and won't open. He left. Now, yesterday, 2 weeks later, no part, Electrolux is sending him back to force open the washer so I can remove my clothes and are replacing it with a new one. He was to come in the morning 8-12. I just received a call from Tony, "We'll come at our convenience sometime in the next week. But I can tell you we won't be there tomorrow.." Stay away from this company.

We were referred To us by Frigidaire And from the start they were unprofessional. We scheduled an 8 AM to noon repair window with a 30 minute leadtime for arrival. I did not hear from the owner of the company until 3:15 PM stating that they were at my home and they Would wait no more than 15 minutes for me to arrive back home. When I indicated that I was down the street picking my children up from school and it would be 20 minutes before I would be back the owner said that He was instructing the technician to leave my house and he would see if they could fit me in later on in the afternoon But he could not guarantee that we would receive service. The owner then lied about offering a booking window moments after acknowledging that we had a booking window he also lied about a lead time about giving 30 minutes lead time before moments after acknowledging that there was a 30 minute lead time. I understand that companies can have challenges with booking windows and repair times however the owners anger in flexibility and general bitter demeanor we’re astounding. If you were to ever find yourself crossing paths with James Cunningham repair, save yourself the hassle, and run in the other direction, quickly.

Cunningham Appliance Repair is the local company to which Frigidaire's 800 repair number refers customers. I called and made an appointment for August 21st between 2pm - 6pm. They did not show up and did not call me. I called them around 6:15pm and the person I spoke told me he was still tied up on another job and could come later. I said that I'd already waited 4 hours and unless they waived the $75 fee for coming to assess the appliance, I would take my business elsewhere. He said that he would not do that, and I said "Okay. Bye." A few minutes later I received a call from someone else in his company, claiming that the appointed time was 2pm to 7pm, and that I had it wrong. He said that my call had been recorded and he verified it. I said "Your man verified the 2-6pm time slot with me two or three times. I wouldn't have agreed to 7pm." I said "I'd love to hear that recording." He didn't respond. I said goodbye. To summarize: 1) Delays happen, but they should have called me rather than not show up. 2) Given the delay, they could have shown some good faith by reducing or waiving the fee for the assessment. They would not. 3) The line "We told you 7pm" was a flat-out lie, and that is no way to treat a customer. First, I heard them clearly say 6pm at least twice. Second, I would not have agreed to that 5-hour window. Third, they can easily make this complaint go away by producing the supposed recording of me agreeing to the 7pm time frame.
Description of Work: Provider was supposed to come to my home during a pre-arranged four hour window to assess a malfunctioning washing machine.

He arrived promptly and identified the problem. (The water line on the refigerator ice maker had developed a pinhole). He placed a connector below the break and away he went. A short time later I saw it was leaking again. I called him to return. He stated that he would need to order parts ( a new hose) to finish the job. Still waining to hear from him.
Description of Work: He did a quick fix. Had to order parts. Haven't seen or heard from him since.

After months and months and many no shows, I gave up on them. They also lied saying they had called when they didn't. I have an iPhone and it records ALL calls in and out, even missed calls. They told my husband they were ordering a part for the fan and when I called them a month later they said they had to order the part. They showed up unannounced after I hired another repair service. Apparently the unit did not even require parts. The third repair company came out and fixed it the first visit with the electrical tape.
Description of Work: Unfortunately, we have a Frigidaire refrigerator. We started having problems with it last year and got an extended warranty. I was pregnant at the time, so I don't remember all the early details. With the warranty service plan another company first came out. One day the ice cream in the freezer was like soup, neither freezer nor fridge would maintain temperature and the fridge made a loud whirling noise like a helicopter periodically for about an hour at a time. The first place we were referred was not doing warranty work anymore, so next we were given James Cunningham's business and number. After a number of visits, including several no shows, they told my husband they had ordered a part for the fan. According to my husband, we were waiting for the part and they would call and make an appointment. They never did. I called and they said they had to order the part! Then they actually called a week later and said they had the part and would be at my house Thursday. At 4pm on Thursday I called and they said they were busy and would come the next day, Friday. Well, surprise, they didn't. So I called Frigidaire warranty department for about the sixth time and got another repair company. I called the new place, they were very nice and said they would be out the following Wednesday (they fixed it in one visit by the way). Unannounced on Saturday at about 6pm two men from Cunningham's showed up with the part. I told them I no longer needed their "services" and sent them away.

We had used another repair service (Appliance Professionals LLC) to fix our Bosch dishwasher which was performed well and quickly. This first repair person from Appliance Professionals LLC noted that there was a recall on our Bosch dishwasher control unit/module, contacted Bosch and Bosch identified that there were 2 people to select from as authorized repair facilities for Bosch appliance products. Appliance Professionals LLC had recommended Cunningham's over the 2nd, and only other, option. When I looked in Angie's List, the other facility was not even available to research and there were obviously mixed reviews on Cunningham's in Angie's List as of the date of this writing - some very good and some very poor. Thus we essentially had to use Cunningham's for lack of a better option. To paraphrase, I would never use this company again. There are very poor reviews listed for Cunningham's in Angie's List from January and July 2012 and both of those are dead-on correct. The main issues I encountered: - Horrible communication: My wife had to be the one constantly calling, asking where the part from Bosch was, if they even ordered it due to the very long time delay in delivery (when they assured us they did) and when they will come out to fix the dishwasher. We received next to no calls FROM Cunningham's and she had to juggle 3 young children with school and then constantly contacting this company on top of it. It became typical that we would have to call Cunningham's, ask when, get the "we are waiting on the part" or "a bunch of parts are here, let me look through them and call you back" and then NEVER get a return call. Common courtesy for a business seemed to go right out the window besides attention to detail. - Terrible scheduling or schedule attempts: Our dishwasher was first repaired by good provider (Appliance Professionals LLC) in about 3 days, after waiting for a valve to be delivered (on the first problem that initiated this whole repair sequence), then we were without a dishwasher waiting on this control unit to be replaced under a Bosch recall by Cunningham's for almost 4 WEEKS. A small portion of this was waiting for part to be delivered by Bosch but the VAST MAJORITY of this delay was Cunningham's poor attention to detail and response to customers. It gives the impression their recall or authorized retailer business is low profit and they push it off until they absolutely have to do it, for more profitable calls that aren't recalls. - Overall poor performance: Barely able to schedule appointments with their customers. Showed up late. Work apparently was performed adequately (dishwasher works) but I am nervous about latent errors although since the control unit is the main controller for operation. Just a tremendous delay, a big pain to deal with this company and makes me question the results. I would never use this company for any "regular" repair and recommend anyone reading this steer clear of this company for a better performing one.
Description of Work: Cunningham's was 1 of 2 authorized repair facilities in the greater Irmo/Columbia, SC area for Bosch dishwasher recall repairs. The scope of this repair was to replace a recall control board that Bosch determined could ignite an electrical fire due to improper configuration when the dishwasher was in operation.

Description of Work: I called Mr. Cunningham for over a week to schedule a service for my dryer since he is the only LG service person in the area. I patiently tried to resolve the issue myself via his phone suggestions as well as my research online. I finally asked him to please come in person. He admitted that he was in GA working on air conditioners. When he came on Tuesday, he quickly told me that my vent needed to be replaced. He said that he would come back on Friday or Saturday to complete the job. I contacted him on Thursday to confirm my appt for Friday. He said that he had the parts and to call him Friday morning. When I called hime Friday morning, I got a voice mail message. I asked my husband to contact him during the day. We never heard back from Mr. Cunningham. If he would have told me on Tue that he was not interested in completing the job I could have found another repairman to complete the job.

I took the day off for this work. Appointment scheduled for 8am to 11am, didn't show up or call. I called at noon, was told "I'll be there soon". Got a call at 1:30 asking for directions, another at 1:45 because address was written down wrong. Got there at 2:15, quickly diagnosed problem. It was going to take another 4 hours to get replacement belt. Finally came back at 7:30, took 5 minutes to install belt. Quality of work was excellent - quickly diagnosed problem, quickly resolved once part was in hand. My complaint was in the way my time was wasted waiting with no effort to let me know what was going on.

The owner of the company, James Cunningham came out to help me himself. He was extremely polite and professional and diagnosed my issue in a timely manner. It took a while for the parts to come in but I blame that on Whirlpool not on the repair company. When Mr. Cunningham did the repair work for me he worked efficiently and did not leave a mess as some other repair people might do. He cleaned up after himself when he was done. I believe he charged a fair price for his services. He came on time when he said he would. While I was waiting for the parts to come from Whirlpool he kept me apprised of the process via phone every step of the way. He even called after the repair to make sure that it was still working and that I was happy. He even worked on a Saturday. I highly recommend him. He will be my appliance guy from now on although I hope I won't need him.
