I picked this store and repair shop because it was near my house and the two technicians seemed concerned and basically told me they could remove the malware without damaging important programs. I removed all personal medical names and clinical notes from the machine prior to giving them the machine to work on, I believe over a weekend. The service was timely, but although the malware undoubtedly was removed, they randomly removed a $1000 medical Dragon Dictate program, also Microsoft word (the excuse was "we don't like that program -- prefer Wordperfect", which they installed for me to pay for with first use. I have used Wordperfect in the past and do not like it Several Amateur radio Programs were erased -- all the above without a telephone call to ask if I really needed the programs. Then they installed about six programs, which I would have to pay for to use, none of which did I need or want -- just clutter. When confronted a week later after I had a chance to use the machine and see the mess they made of it I telephoned them. They were haughty, defensive, they did not even apologize, much less return the fee for service or the approximately $1600 in erased programs which I had downloaded and was refused by the various companies to send me disks. In short, these fellows in my opinion are technically and socially incompetent, lack all business savvy, and deserve to have their business fold. I hope this short narrative might save some other potential customer the grief they have put me through.
Description of Work: My medical laptop was several years old and very slow, I was told, because of viruses and other malware.
