A sales rep came to my house, 1 hour late, not a big deal. I told him that i was getting estimates, and they were the first to make it to my house. Throughout the discussions he kept mentioning if you want cheap windows, use Window World or Taylors? I reminded him that I wanted to get some estimates and do more research online. As he explained the prices that he was writing on some paper, the deal was only good for tonight, and if I call back tomorrow the quoted price was almost 50% higher. I asked to see all the numbers for the options we discussed and it was all a bunch of scribble that was unreadable by me for an estimate, none of the numbers were labeled. He continued to bash the competitors for cheap products that were not as energy efficient, then told me people who ask for estimates are usually looking for the lowest price. Shortly after he repeated it the second time, I stood up and said thanks, and let him know I took offense for referring to me as a "cheapskate" and walked him to the door.

Windows look great, I noticed the sounds outside are not as loud as they were with the single pane old style windows. I also feel as though the heat of the sun does not penetrate through the window as it used to, therefore inside the house is more comfortable.
Description of Work: Used twice. First time 5 years ago replaced windows in the main part of the house - kitchen, living room, dining room. Second time about a year and a half later did remaining windows throughout bedrooms and bathrooms.

Well it was fine, but hideously expensive. I spoke to other people and they said wow we can't believe you paid $1400 for two small windows. I said well you know I won't do that again. I probably will go somewhere else. I have about 30 windows in my house. I will be using elsewhere. But it was certainly a good job they did. I appreciate the fact that I love my windows in my kitchen. But those days of calling on them is over. The fellow did a beautiful job of ceiling everything up so no air would come through. Weather proof and wind proof. I just called them as a test to see if I would use them in the future. Someday, this is a 1928 house I am going to get the windows done. But not from Champion I'm afraid. It was suppose it was so few, they would['t of done that if I ordered more. And I understand they have to send a guy to install two window. But they still would of been two high even at a lower price. Multitude of windows even if they came down from that considerably it would of still been too much. It would of been more than one of those other companies. Which I think they do a pretty good job, I've seen buildings that they've done they look pretty good. I have had people say hey I can feel the difference in my house in the winter and the summer. I was a fine job. Everything but cost was good. I called them and they sent somebody right away to measure the windows. The fellow who installed them was a young man and took great care, accountable and efficient. It wasn't a long time did a good job in ceiling everything up. The little fellow I would give him a A.They did a good job of getting here, it was a little bit later than I thought it would be, but I understand they had to make the windows. I would not use them again they are too expensive. I liked their work and the quality but I didn't like the price.

Overall below average. Poor customer service. Had to have sliding glass door re-installed. Areas that needed repair they did not repair installed door to cover up damaged areas. Contractor left nails in the driveway and caused a flat tire on my car. Champion response: Mistakes happen but you can't prove we damaged your tire. Caveat emptor: When buying replacement windows, be careful and do your homework.

bad....ongoing leaks never repaired .
Description of Work: The florida room was built using very good materials but the caulking and weather seals are poor and not suitable for roofing. The company has been out of four occasions to repair constant leaks and the leaks still persist. An attempt was made 2 weeks ago and the sheet metal used was very sloppy with sharp edges left and new leaks appeared. I have just hired a man to repair and seal the fireplace chimney and will also apply a coat of Hyrostop on the roof which he guarantees will work and will give us a 5 yr warranty. . I will not do any further business with Champion.

The entire process went very well. The sales representative did a remarkable job in explaining the advantages of champion windows. Living in the hot South makes the investment well worth the expense. The custom made windows even arrived way ahead the estimated time frame. The work crew started in time, was very professional and extremely hard working. Clean-up was spotless. All in all, it took less time than we had expected, although they had to work on a two story house. Several friends recommended Champion Window. After a disappointing experience with another window replacement company we were looking for a reliable installation.

We are very satisfied with the work that was done. I thought the price was very reasonable for they did. I would recommend them very highly.
Description of Work: They built an enclosure of a porch that had a roof on it. The materials were so good. The windows are air tight and they use double pane windows. They have both heating and cooling capacity. They increased the flooring with concrete up to 5 inches so my disabled son could wheel out with his wheelchair. It was very convenient. They also build 2 large 3 and a half foot sliding glass doors and a ramp leading outside as a safety precaution.

Their price was $2000 and I was able to get the work done by another company for $500. It was really strange too, because the guy who came to do the estimate asked me to come into the house and sit down at the table and then asked me if I lived alone. This made me very uncomfortable. Everyone else did their measurements, did the calculations and then gave me the estimate.

It went great. They've done three different contracts for me and every single one of them was great. They got rid of all the screening and then closed it with glass, all the windows open like sliding patio doors, glass doors. There is two doors, one on either side. They did a beautiful job. I liked the whole thing, they were on time, they completed when they said they would, they cleaned up after themselves. The work itself was absolutely first rate, it was just a great experience, beginning to end. They were the only ones I called.

They came out and when we signed the contract he said the window would be in within two weeks. Then a few days later, just about three or four days later, I amended the contract and asked them to put in two more additional windows with that. That's when the issue came, changing the date and not making the deadline. First the guy told me that the window had not been delivered. He said they were still waiting on the regular windows that I amended and added to the contract, but the original window which is the odd size were already in here. They wouldn't make that deadline. What he meant to tell me was the regular windows are the ones that was here, but the odd side was not here. And I'm wondering wasn't it you that cut the things with a hand saw or something and made them, he keep saying no. Then he would tell me he would call me back and let me know he would definitely call me back. It it did not drop by the last shipment Friday, he would never call back. Then when the guy come put the windows in, they didn't clean it up like they said. They didn't clean the windows like the man that originally put in the storm windows. There's smudges all over the windows. There's bits and pieces of wood and stuff where they put the old windows out; they did not clean up after themselves. And my son came this morning saying I need to call Champion because that window has a slider in he front and he did not completely caulk it. I saw it when I got outside and walked passed. He could show me they didn't caulk it right; moisture or anything else can get in there. And that might be how a mouse got in my room through that sliding window. About two days ago when I woke up at night, a mouse was in the house I had to chase it down the next day trying to beat it. I said, wow, they really left a bunch of mess.

Champion was very professional, honest and prompt during the entire process. We considered going with one of the big box stores, but with so many bad reviews and customer feedback for them we decided to give Champion a shot. We were not disappointed. We are extremely happy with our purchase, and the installers were prompt and very competent. We would definitely recommend them, and we would use them again.

The installation was supposed to take 3 days. The installation was to start 6-1-16 but we received a call 2 hours after the crew was to arrive saying they wouldn't be able to make it and they wouldn't be able to come for a week. Since we had to be home for the installation I took time off work for nothing. The next week more of the same. The crew showed up one day and then did not come back. Couldn't get the manager on the phone or anyone to tell us what was going on. I would get a call they were on the way and then no show. More time off work. The job was not completed until 7-15-16. It took 6 weeks! The house was torn up with no window treatments in bathrooms and front of house. I had told them I had company coming 7-1-16 and I needed the job done. They still didn't get the job done. The manager Mike was very nice but just didn't perform. I felt we paid very good money and we're not a priority to them. Ended up having to get Marks boss out to the house to get finishing details addressed. He was not happy and started quoting the contract and made a bad situation worse. I would not recommend using them. Many company's out there that would love your business.

We have a large screened in porch with a total of twelve over sized window openings. The old metal screening was pushed out, ripped and in poor repair. The Champion sales representative that came to talk to us was courteous, informative and willing to give us all the information we required. He strongly advised that we change to a fiberglass screening and told us that if there were ANY problems that Champion stood by their product and would repair whatever issues we had. We have de-clawed cats and he even said that if the cats did any damage (pushing against the screens or ripping holes) that the company would come and fix the problems at no charge. After he put that in writing...and even EXTENDED the warranty from four to five years...we were sold. The installers were prompt and efficient and very professional and completed the job in quick time. We were very pleased with the job and praised Champion to whoever would listen to us. About a month ago, we were sitting out on our porch. I noticed what I thought were odd shadows near the top of one of the windows, so got up and looked. There were several quarter sized holes, not shadows. After looking closely at the other windows, I found more holes in a couple of the others. There were no dents, so we discounted bird collisions. We found no metal filings or shavings. It looked as if the holes were caused by deterioration. We called Champion to ask if someone could come by and inspect the problem and arrange for repairs. We received a call back several days later and were told that the problem was caused by insects that ate fiberglass screening. What ?? Furthermore, if we wanted the screens replaced, we'd be charged $35 per screen PLUS a $99 trip charge since the problem is NOT covered. The company rep that came by repeated the information he'd given on the phone adding that even if we DO replace the screens that the bugs will come back and eat the screening again, so we'd be looking at more replacement costs PLUS trip charges. We told him we'd like an estimate on replacing the fiberglass with metal screening and he told us that Champion ONLY uses fiberglass. We are less than pleased with the tactics used by this company. The salesman misrepresented the products and service. Is this the way large companies conduct business ? My roommate and I are two female senior citizens who thought we were intelligent enough not to be bilked by a big name company like Champion, whom we thought had integrity. The company rep that came to the house told us they would be more than willing to replace the damaged screens...for $35 each PLUS the $99 trip charge. Obviously the warranty is worthless and the company does nothing to satisfy customers concerns.

After my initial experience, I contacted the management team at Champion. They sent out a supervisor to look at the work I was unhappy with and he agreed totally. I was disappointed in that when we originally discussed him coming to look at the work on a Thursday I was told the work would be redone the day after but it took 2 additional weeks, 3 total for the work to be completed. Mark and Jeremy were the technicians that come out to redo the original installation. I could tell by watching them they knew what they were doing. They were very professional and removed the door and reinstalled it correctly this time including the aluminum trim on the outside in half of the time of the original installation. They explained the company is going through some transitioning but I am not sure how long that will take. They will have to find much better help than they had on the current payroll but feel like they understood that and would be working toward that goal. I might use them again but only if I contact Mark and make sure that I have his word that he is sending out a competent crew and he stands behind them. Oh and thanks Jeremy for climbing under the house and removing the wood that the previous installer left behind for the termites to lunch on. I am somewhat disappointed in the sales person in that I felt like after he made his sale and got his commission he did not follow up to see if I was a satisfied customer. I feel that Champion would benefit from that after the sale contact.
Description of Work: Contractors rushed through job without taking precise measurements and checking work. They replace an existing back door. Installed and removed it 4 times before finally figuring out after I told them that they might want to check the existing framing dimensions, which ended up being off. Installed door once without door frame being flush with sheetrock on inside. How to you put trim back up to cover 5/8" gap. Took it out but still off by up to 1/8" in some locations. Did not spray foam gaps between new door and framing. They replace a 4 ft. by 2 ft. section of subfloor on the inside and did not get it level with existing floor. Off 3/8" low in the middle. I will have to pour in self leveling compound to fix. I told them that since the inside door trim had water damage at the bottom I was going to replace it and they installed it anyway and used non-paintable white silicone caulking on trim which will not come off of wallpaper. They cracked the sheetrock and wallpaper from trying to force door into existing opening by hammering new door frame from outside, should have been a clue the frame was not the correct size. They left temporary shoring that I installed and they removed under the house after they knocked it out of the way with a hammer. Yum good termite bait, said they would go through crawl space and get it but never did. The metal trim replacement on the outside of door was not well done and the caulking job still looks terrible even after having them work on 3 times where they missed areas, had globs of caulking in several places. The door handle is loose and cheap and has scratched the paint on the door from being loose and moving around so much while they tried to adjust it. The dead bolt would not even lock when they asked us to come check things out before they got ready to leave. You would have thought they would have at least checked that. I will spend an additional $300 on leveling compound, new wider door frame material to cover caulking. I will have to replace the section of wallpaper that was split and repair the crack in the sheet rock. I spent 6 hours yesterday doing prep work for leveling compound and will likely spend another 8 hours plus on the other items. They did deduct $100 off of the job for not doing it right after the numerous things that I showed them I was unhappy with. At that point I just wanted them off of my property and they will never be allowed back. There were numerous other issues that I could go on and on with on this job that were just not professionally executed . I love the green Torque Head screws on my new door hinges that they had to use since they wore out the other brass screws installing the door so many times.

The two installers showed at the appointed time. I showed them the areas that needed to be repaired and they went to work tacking the vinyl back up. It took the less that 10 minutes. When they finished they told me their supervisor said that they were to charge me a $75.00 "truck fee" because I didn't want a Champion sign placed in my front yard. I told the installers that I did not discuss the sign with anyone at Champion and that I wouldn't have a problem with the sign since I kept their sign in my front yard 6 months after the I ritual work was done. I also asked them why i should pay a fee for flawed workmanship. I told them that I was not going to pay $75.00 for something called a truck fee. I told them to have their supervisor contact me if there was an issue. I never heard anything from Champion. I'm very disappointed with this experience because I was considering them for window installation but I'm having second thoughts.

Initially told by Mr.Kumar that the window would be done in about 5 to 6 weeks. This was on March 3. But someone calledme on March 26 to say my window was in and they were planning to come the next day to install. They said they would call me , maybe as late as 6:00pm to let me know for sure. No one called me. After calling 3 times, someone did call me back.My window was installed today, March 13. So it turned out that the original estimate Mr.Kumar gave me of 5 to 6 weeks was accurate. The installer was punctual and pleasant. He did a great job, includinng a thorough cleanup.GREAT PRODUCT.! The beauty of my new window iis even better than I had imagined. Can hardly wait to get the other windows changed out~~ for Champion windows, of course.

We did our research before purchasing from Champion, we had to have windows that my wife can move with ease. She has had both thumb joints removed and has osteoarthritis; we spent many hours for her opening and closing windows from different companies. She also wanted to be able to clean the outside from the inside with the push level. This was important to have a solid easy to maneuver window. The workers came as promised, all work was done as promised, we were very please with this company. There was no mess left behind. To our surprise in one and half years our level billing electric bill dropped $30.00 per month. We could not believe the old window were leaking that much. What a return on our investment! We love our Sun Room all glassed in and with a ptac unit included in the pricing, it also included screens. This extra space was amazing. We have nothing but praise for this company.
