I contacted Biotek on Saturday morning, July 25th, 2015, and received a call back from Ancel Hamilton within 30 minutes. He told me Thomas Grise would be contacting me and would send a crew out on Sunday to start. His crew arrived on Sunday morning and started the containment and remediation services. They put fans and filters in place to dry out the areas of water penetration. Biotek came by each day to check on things and finished remediation services on Wednesday of the following week. This company is STELLAR!!! Coming out on a Sunday was incredible!. They are highly skilled, knowledgable and very professional. Biotek's service and support gave us the peace of mind we needed after experiencing the stress of water damage in our home.

We were concerned about a potential mold issue in our basement and wanted to have it verified and remedied. Ancel drove more than an hour to our home and did a thorough inspection of the area. In the end he told us that we did not have any mold. I am very pleased with his honesty and professionalism.

Everything went very well. They were here about five days. Very professional company. About a year after the job was completed the dehumidifier quit working. I called them and they came right out and determined the unit would have to be replaced. As it was still under warranty they replaced it with a new unit. I highly recommend this company!!

DO NOT use this company unless you have an extra $10,000.00 laying around that you don't know what to do with. They do not offer any type of payment plan. A 50% deposit is required at the time the contract is signed. At that time, if you pay by credit card, they will charge you an extra 4% of the 50% dollar amount. But that's not all, folks! When they put the remaining balance on your credit card, they will AGAIN charge you an extra 4% of the remaining balance. Watch out if they recommend an electrician. My advice is that you get at least one additional opinion. The electrician suggested to me was not allowed to work on my existing box. For only an additional $1000.00, I was given a new box. However, the electrician did not bother to get a permit for the work he was planning to do. Nor did he bother to get a county inspection as mandated by the county I live in. BUT for an extra charge, I could get my own inspection. The dehumidifier they installed in my crawlspace has had many issues and has not yet worked consistently as it should. A replacement part was installed today (6/3/15). It remains to be seen if the dehumidifier will work now, however, in the process of working on the unit which is accessed through the garage, their representative broke my garage door by forcing it open. Now the door will neither open nor close. Extremely unhappy with Biotek and disappointed in Angie's List for even entertaining the thought of having this company on their website. This is the main reason I cancelled my membership with them. I can find crappy companies on my own. I don't need to pay Angie's List to find them for me.

They did an excellent job. There was just one little spot I found after the guy had left, but otherwise, it was great.

Biotek and the team led by Bill in my home did a fabulous job. The team was very patient with me, even after I decided to reschedule a month out due to the cold temps we were having at the time.They were very knowledgeable and flexible and walked me thru every step of the process. They did two crawl thrus with me of the space to show me what damage was present w pictures, along with in depth detailed discussions, and post installation/remediation inspection as well. In comparison to a previous team that had done some work in the space prior to their work, they were great! Very professional and very thorough. I've been very happy with the results and feel much more at ease about my crawlspace now.

I called the company phone number which was a number in Columbia, SC on a Friday evening. The owner answered, and he told me that they have an office in my area of Greenville, SC. He was extremely nice and helpful. Very knowledgable. He said that he would have a representative of BioTek call me. Within five minutes, I got a call from Bill K, in BioTek's Mauldin office. He was extremely professional and knowledgable. I was very concerned about the possibility of mold in our house's air vents, and I knew that we had mold under the house. Bill came by the next day (Saturday), and did an inspection of the entire house. He took air samples inside and out. He took pictures under the house, and he went pretty far back into the crawl space to inspect. Within a few days he had an estimate, and the result of the air samples. The house was fine, but there was mold under the house. They took out all of the old insulation and plastic under the house. Scrubbed the mold off, and put fans in to dry it out. Once the crawl space was dry, they sprayed the wood and sub-floor with an anti-mold type of covering, and then let that dry. I believe that they put on several coats. They came back later and put down some black, heavy duty plastic, and then installed new insulation. They also installed a humidity monitor which we keep in our kitchen to monitor the moisture content under the house. We did not install a dehumidifier as he wanted to wait and see if the humidity will stay below 60% without having to pay for the dehumidifier if it's not needed (which I greatly appreciated). The craw space looks good. I would highly recommend Bio Tek to anyone who suspects that they have a mold issue. They are honest, and will not recommend anything that is not needed. All of the Bio Tek individuals were professional and friendly. They were also always on time. The warranty is good for 30 years, and can be transferred if the house is ever sold. Overall, a great experience.

The whole process was easy and the specialist sent me a report through email. I would recommend. I am, however, leaving Angie's List because of their efforts to oppose Religious Liberty legislation in Indiana. I urge you to do the same.

They're very good. The guy is Ancel Hamilton. It was very good. The guy is professional and definitely knowledgeable. We called a couple and they called back. They are actually extremely good in responding; email, two minutes later you have the answer, text, call, they're really good. They offered a really good price in the work that they needed to do but I just didn't go with it. Comparing the price with the others, it was definitely better.

Everything went exceptionally well. It was the most comprehensive assessment I've had to date regarding what needed to be done. The person who came out with his assistant was very thorough. They did a "show and tell" (explained everything fully and gave advice as they went through the damage). I thought it was a very fair process and I respect his integrity. They were professional, timely, knowledgeable, competent, and efficient. I was very happy to be able to find this company and will use them again whenever I have the chance. I was very impressed overall

Contact person was awesome. Timely and upfront with costs and time frame. General workers broke an item but we were compensated for it. General workers were not great with communication. Would use again but gleefully will not have to.

They were excellent. The price was fabulous. We had no problems with the insurance using them. All in All excellent job.

No follow up, but I've been jerked around by a few mold guys already. I already identified an elevated spore count in my condo, and yet this guy wanted to run the test anyway (at a "discounted" rate of $225) It's very frustrating when I know I have mold and end up spending ANOTHER week unable to use my bathroom because of a contractor who can't get their crap together.

I would recommend BioTek to anyone who has even the slightest concern about mold in their current house or a potential house. Both Ancel and Bill went above and beyond my expectations and helped us when we really needed help and were under time constraints. Their sense of urgency and experience is truly priceless and I now have a great resource for any questions about mold going forward. Thank you.

Ancel kindly rearranged his schedule so he could do his inspection during our home inspection. The crawl space of the house we were buying had mold remediation done and I wanted to be sure there was not an unknown mold problem elsewhere. Ancel looked through the interior of the house and made recommendations for the exterior of the house (areas where rain water collected that needed to be diverted). Ancel also inspected the crawl space and was very complimentary of the mold remediation that was done by another company. I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism and customer oriented attitude of Ancel.

We paid around $250 for the initial inspection of the problem, which included looking throughout the areas for mold as well as setting up measuring stations for mold spores. The inspection revealed a large problem caused by overflowing gutters causing water to leak through the foundation. They gave back half the inspection cost as part of the full remediation job. A crew of 3 spent 3 days doing all the work. They were very careful in everything they did, carefully sealing the spaces to do the work and ensuring all the mold spores were caught or went outside. They were also very well mannered and anxious to do a good job. The lead person, Bill, kept checking with us during and after the work. He even checked out unrelated kitchen problems with moisture without any additional charge, and then checked with us a week or two after everything was done to make sure we were satisfied. We felt we were in very competent hands. It was expensive but very thorough so worth the investment.

Thomas was great to work with. It went well. They set up scrubbers to clean the air and the areas they were working in were sealed off. They also tested the crawl space and main areas of home for fungicide afterwards.

We contacted BioTek and ask that their come and give us an estimate for cleaning under our rental home. We needed a quick turn around and BioTek scheduled an appointment within the week. We were please with their promptness and we passed inspection which they promised we would after the mold was removed. It is refreshing to have a company deliver a top notch service and not have to follow up on substandard work to get a professional end result.

They did an excellent job. The estimate was performed quickly after calling even though I live in Aiken and they are based in Columbia. The guys that came to do the actual work were young, but very professional acting.

The representative said there was a little mold on the ceiling tiles but it was not serious. He recommended we have roof repair, and then a handyman to replace the affected ceiling tiles. I thanked him for his honesty.

Mr. Hamilton is wonderful to work with and some of the time we were in Indiana. He is very trustworthy and reliable. Two traits hard to find. His secretary is very helpful. I needed documentation twice and they sent it.

We were pretty satisfied with them. They did a lot of work for us because the mold was putting out spores into the air so our whole house, the crawl space, the ducts, the whole inside of the house, needed to be worked, and all the stuff inside of the house needed to be cleaned as well.
