Description of Work: In 1996, so many years ago, Air Waves put a heating and cooling unit into our add-on porch. My home system, installed by other companies, has been replaced more than once during that same time, but the one on my porch has continued to heat and cool, needing no repairs during these last 21 years. So now I'm back with Air Waves. They came to repair my 10-year-old home unit so that it can keep on going for a few more years. They are professional, knowledgeable, and very caring towards their customers.

Description of Work: I use Air Waves for heating and A/C. I have a contract for them to come out 3 times a year.

Description of Work: After Hurricane Mathew came through, leaving us without electricity and running water for 5 days, we decided to purchase a whole-house generator. Air Waves was recommended by a friend who was very happy with the company's installation and service on her own whole-house generator. After obtaining a few quotes from area vendors I decided to go with Air Waves. Their prices was comparable to the other vendors but the unit they quoted, a Kohler model, had higher ratings on Consumer Reports than what the other vendors offered.

Description of Work: Quoted new hvac system.

Description of Work: I had an inefficient combined AC/Heater gas unit with zone controls, upstairs and downstairs. I wanted to replace it with a high efficiency electric heat pump. I received a quote for about $6000 for a 2.5T 14 SEER unit. We agreed that I pay half upfront, and half when they are done.

Description of Work: I used Air Waves Heating & Air Inc about four months ago. They did a system inspection and cleaning. It was annual maintenance.

Description of Work: I got a quote from this company for a replacement HVAC system and replacement ducts. The quote for the ducts was about 3x as expensive as my highest quote so far and the new gas pack (two quotes) were about $1,500 to $3,500 above the other quotes for the same system, same brands. They had a price of $65 to get a permit, the actual cost for the permit was $20 (although that was for a system priced $1,500 less than their quote). Perhaps they were charging for the time or gas to get the permit? I did like that they had a one year warranty.

Description of Work: We had a rusted indoor coil on an A/C unit not quite 8 years old. Two other contractors told us that the component was no longer under warranty and gave us estimates on a new unit. But Jason, the senior technician from Air Waves, investigated further to find out that the coil was still under warranty. The company who sold the unit was no longer in business, but Jason found another company that did. He contacted them, told us to get the verifying info that the unit was not yet past warranty, and had them order the part, which had to be specially made since it was no longer in production. After the part came in, he personally came to install it. While he was there on the first visit, we also told him about the inadequate air flow in the kitchen and family room, and he recommended adding some new vents and enlarging the return. He made the arrangements for the duct/vent staff to come out to do the work, and Jason personally came to supervise it. The staff could not complete the job because of not having the correct tools, so Jason came out to finish the job and check to see if the system was operating properly. I cannot tell you the difference it made to have enough cooling in our major living areas!
