I have used Dock Masters several times in the past and their knowledge of boat docks, boat lifts, service and quality of work has always been outstanding. They were able to come up with a way to use my existing lifter beams, bunks and guide poles which made their installation quote about $1,300 less than a quote from another dock contractor for a comparable Boat House Lift. What I liked best about Dock Master, other than the price, was that their Hi-Tide installation design was much better compared to the Boat House Lift. I had a little bit of a communication problem with them when I was trying to schedule the work. However, this was unusual for them as I had never had this problem in the past. I knew they had become very busy this time of year and was the reason for their seemly communication let down. However, they did show up on schedule and completed the removal and installation of the new lift on time. They ran into a little problem during the installation but they brought it to my attention. We discussed several options and decided on a course of action. The quality of the installation was outstanding and, to my surprise, they even provided some extra roof supports at no extra charge. Originally, I wanted a one motor lift but thanks to their recommendation, I bought the two motor lift. Now that I have been using it, the two motor lift is much superior to the one motor lift and well worth the the extra money. I would recommend Dock Masters to anyone for their boat dock, boat lift or deck needs.

I have dealt with this company for 15+ years. However, the company has been sold and it is not the same company. I met with the current owner, Perry Johnston in May, 2007 and requested a quotation and proposal. I called him and the company back on at least 3 occasions, through August 2007 (3 months). I was told that David was working on my quote. David had many excuses why it had taken 3 months and he still could not provide me a quote. After doing business with their firm for 15+ years I have given up and moved on to another builder, WHO DID A GREAT JOB. As stated, I called multiple time trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I never received a quote and have moved on. I have found multiple firms who can do the job and are very responsive.

I asked Dockmasters to give me an estimate on repairing/replacing my existing dock with a new structure. I was told a representative, Perry Johnston, went to my property and examined my dock and would let me know what it would cost to replace it. That occurred on Aug. 25th. It is now Oct. 4th, and I have not received any communication from this company regarding my request. I called and spoke with the secretary on three separate occasions. Each time I was told I would be called back and given the information, but I have never been contacted by this company to follow up or give me an estimate on the work to be performed. In light of this, I couldn't have hired this company even if I had wanted to due to their lack of interest in my job.

RON CAME OUT AND GAVE US AN OFF-THE-CUFF ESTIMATE FOR A WOODEN DOCK. WE HAD NO WRITTEN ESTIMATE. NEVERTHELESS, I WENT AHEAD AND HIRED THEM. WHEN I WENT TO THE COMPANY AND TOLD THEM WHAT I WANTED, THEY WROTE UP THE ESTIMATE AND I SIGNED IT AND GAVE THEM HALF THE MONEY. I TOLD THEM I DIDN'T WANT IT STARTED FOR TWO MONTHS. I CALLED TWO WEEKS BEFORE THEY WERE TO START AND GOT THE IMPRESSION THEY HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT, BECAUSE THEY HADN'T EVEN FILED FOR THE PERMITS YET, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECEIVED SOME TIME AGO. A MISUNDERSTANDING CAUSED ME TO ADD STEPS AND BOAT POSTS TO THE PROJECT, WHICH ADDED TO THE COST. WHEN I CONTRACTED FOR THE DOCK, I TOLD THEM I WANTED WHITE VINYL, BUT SOMEHOW, THEY DIDN'T GET THE ORDER IN IN TIME TO HAVE ALL THE MATERIAL THERE WHEN THE DOCK WAS BUILT, WHICH CAUSED A DELAY IN FINISHING. NEVERTHELESS, THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THE DOCK IS BEAUTIFUL AND HAS WITHSTOOD ALL THE LAKE RISINGS AND FALLINGS CAUSED BY THE MANY STORMS IN LATE SUMMER AND EARLY F
