Jim Wainright Plumbing

We had our sewage back up into our house drains and we called Jim Wainwright Plumbing. They arrived and left a short time later stating they did not have the proper tools and would return. Almost two hours later they returned and all they did was snake out the sewer drain. We paid them $285.00 for this service. He told us we had an old Orangeburg pipe that was collapsed and the entire drain needed to be replaced and quoted us about $1,750.00. He told us he would have to dig up two of my Dogwood trees because the pipe ran directly beside them. After two days, the sewage was backed up again and we decided to call another plumber because we already felt that we paid too much for a simple snake. The second plumber placed a camera down our entire sewer pipe and showed us that it was a newer iron pipe and was not even the slightest bit collapsed. He also showed us that the pipe ran about 8-10 feet AWAY from the trees. After this, he showed us where Wainwright cracked our entrance drain and placed a thin sheet metal piece over the pipe and then buried it in mud. The reason it backed up again so quickly was because the mud got into the crack they caused and hardened. So not only did we have to pay the second plumber to fix the initial problem, we also had to pay him to repair the damage from Wainwright. We called Jim Wainwright twice to alert him of the mistakes made upon their visit and he just yelled at us and would never let us get a word in. He took such offense to us calling him "sir" and asking him to please listen to what we needing to ask him. He blatantly said "I dare you to ruin my name, I've been in business for over 40 years". I would never want anyone to go through this. This was our first home bought and we had only been there two months. All of our money was spent on the house and they took us for $485 (initial visit plus repairing the damage). Please be careful when choosing this company.

He did a really good job. He tried to fix the sink once and let us know he was going to try one way and if it did not work to call and he will come back to replace the pipe. The first fix did not work and we called him and he came back right away. He replaced the pipe to the sink on his second visit and did not charge us at all for second visit. I would highly recommend them.
